DAMON~

I stood in front of the giant monunt, Long live David Torrence ’The Great Wolf’ it read in bold golden letter. Every ti I ca here and read that title I would close my eyes and hope to God that he’d wake up from the dream that was my life, now more than ever I wanted to open my eyes and see my father with his unchanging smile staring back at but alas I was always disappointed whenever I opened my eyes and was ant with the statue of the man I would never asure up to.

"Wish you were here Dad." I mumbled as I stepped back from the statue and walked back to Jermaine and Carlos who stood behind "He earned the right to be called great."

"You’re the young wolf though, the youngest person to ever beco an alpha, that ain’t no easy feat," Jermaine said.

"He’d be proud if he saw you," Carlos added with a warm smile in an attempt to lift my beaten-up spirit.

"I doubt that." I replied with a chuckle as I turned back to the bronze statue "If he saw now, I doubt he’d recognize ."

"You two look exactly the sa," Jermaine added, I tore my eyes away from the statue and glared at him.

"You know that’s not what I ant."

"How the fuck would I know that," Jermaine replied.

"I implied it," I yelled.

"Next ti don’t imply, be specific." He said, I paused and looked at him for a few seconds and before I knew it a small chuckle escaped my mouth, then it turned louder till I was laughing loudly, Jermaine joined in chuckling as we had just heard the funniest joke ever told, Carlos remained silent, raising a brow at our behavior with a smile on his face till our laughter eventually died down.

"Fuck." I said quietly.

"No shit Dae."

"You know, if soone told I’d have cancer and that the pack would be at the brink of fighting a losing war a year ago, I would have honestly laughed."

"And now it’s so real it feels—"

"Imaginary." Carlos completed.

"Yeah," I confird. We walked away from the statue and towards the other side of the road where the car was parked.

"What are we gonna do Dae?" Jermaine asked a question I had asked myself so many tis.

"I don’t know." I replied, I’ve been saying that a lot and I never thought I’d be thankful to Simon for postponing his attacks "How are things looking with Simon?"

"Depends on which way you look at it." Carlos calmly answered.

"How many ways are there?" Jermaine asked.

"Two From a pessimistic viewpoint and an optimistic one."

"Optimistic?"

"Well Since the creation of Wolves Reign, they have stopped trying to agitate us into starting the war and have set their focus on other packs."

"Pessimistic?" Jermaine asked.

"Him stopping now only ans when he cos back, it would be with an army we wouldn’t be able to fight.", I almost chuckled at the irony. I deeply, deeply respected Simon. A few months ago we were the pack with an army to be feared, it wasn’t every day David beca Goliath.

I sighed, exhausted as I opened the door of the front passenger seat and entered it, Carlos occupied the driver’s seat while Jermaine sat at the back.

"So what are you gonna do about your son?" Jermaine asked.

"She kicked you out and all you did was bring up my na." I laughed in defeat.

"Yeah, I still don’t believe she hates you though."

"Why? Did she say sothing?" I asked as I turned to look at him, hope filling my eyes.

"Nah she didn’t say anything but I know how much you too cared about each other."

"That’s all In the past though." I sighed as I rested back in my seat.

"Nah, there was sothing else?"

"What?" This ti it was Carlos who asked as he looked at Jermaine through the rearview mirror.

"Overcompensation.", His words intrigued so I turned to face him.

"Why do you say that?" I asked.

"Cause it almost felt like she was forcing it."

"Forcing what?"

"Forcing herself to hate you." I scoffed.

"She hates my fucking guts," I said like it was a fact.

"And?" Carlos abruptly interjected.

"What?"

"She hates you and?" He repeated.

"I don’t understand," I said, almost confused by his sudden words.

"You’re going to therapy, making ands, doing all these things to improve yourself but because you don’t wanna hear her say those words again you think she doesn’t deserve an apology."

"I tried to talk to her—"

"You didn’t " He imdiately disagreed then turned to Jermaine "Can I ask you a question?" He asked.

"Yeah, shoot," Jermaine answered.

"What would you have done if he didn’t just co with but with 4 other guys and let’s say, for the sake of this discussion, those were the guys who used to bully you?"

"I’d light his fucking ass up."

"Thank you." Carlos said then turned back to "I know it’s not my place to say, but you’re coming into hostile, you need to show her you are not the guy who treated her like that anymore. You can’t force her to see it or wait till she hates you less." He scolded.

"You’re right," I said as I rested back into the chair and he turned on the car and drove out of the spot we had parked. I was lost in my thoughts, Carlos’s words had made realize that even though I had sworn not to I’d been making excuses, so what if she’d slam the door in my face, so what if she said she’d hate ? I regretted everything I put her through and I’d try my very fucking best to prove how sorry I was. Whether she hated or not I would make it clear that I wanted her forgiveness and if she didn’t give it to then—At least I tried.
