DAMON~

"I just wish everyone knew how hard it was to be—."

In, out, in, out, Each breath I took made my head a little bit clearer. Dr Anita was right, I needed to make peace with whoever I could make peace with, I needed to talk to Jermaine, but with no idea of his whereabouts I had no idea where to start so I had Carlos look into him but after a couple days of searching through records and files he had been able to co up with almost nothing.

"Here." He said as he handed a docunt, I opened it up and read the heading aloud.

"rights and ownership docuntation of Three story residential complex.", I turned to him "What’s this?"

"That’s the building," Carlos said pointing out the tinted window at a building, the majority of it was painted oxblood with white paint coating its entrance and corners. Three n sat on the stairs that led to the entrance chatting and laughing, they were too far so I really couldn’t make out what they looked like but by the sound of their voices, I could tell they were black n.

"What’s his connection to this building?"

"I think he’s the owner." He answered, "When searching for anything relating to a ’ Jermaine’ who was once in Howlcreek I ca across this docunt for a building under the na of Jermaine Graham, so I checked on the owner and even though there were no pictures, there were records of his age and place of birth so I matched that with the information you gave and there was a 90% match." Carlos explained, I nodded and turned my head back to the window.

"So it might not be him," I said.

"It’s a probability." He answered, I nodded as I held the handle of the door.

"You don’t have to do this," Carlos said coldly, I inhaled before I looked at him and responded.

"You know I’ve been telling myself that for so long, You don’t have to do this, you were just a kid, Why even bother, they won’t forgive you so why bother? Those were all just excuses, I fucked up and I gotta make up for it." I replied.

"But—"

"The man who has been running away from his problems isn’t your Alpha, I’m your Alpha," I said with a smile, reminding him of a conversation we had in this very car, he nodded in understanding.

"Ok." He said I smiled.

"Stay here, I’ll be back," I said and was about to open it and walk out when he held onto .

"Oh, I’m not letting you go out alone." He said sternly.

"I need to do this on my own."

"What if they are hostile?" he asked.

"Then I’ll take care of it," I answered.

"How, you can’t transform, and your cells will worsen if you try to do anything." He expressed his concern, my jaw tightened, he was right.

"Still I have to do this alone." I stubbornly said and opened the door and walked out before he could stop but he followed out.

"I’m coming with you." He stated, making it clear it wasn’t a request, I let out an exhausted sigh but didn’t protest as we walked towards the n that sat on the stairs, as they saw us walking towards them they imdiately kept quiet and stood to their feet.

"Turn around!" One of the n barked, and we ignored it.

"You deaf or sothing." The one behind him said as he stepped forward, still we ignored them.

"I said—"

"Shut the fuck up," I growled, their faces twisted with a shock that was quickly replaced by anger as their eyes began to glow, one of them jumped at but before I could react Carlos ran in front of and tackled the man to the ground, with all his strength he pressed the man down then violently slamd his fist into the side of the man’s head, knocking him out, Carlos stepped over the man’s unconscious body and walked back to my side.

"One down two to go." Carlos taunted with a cocky grin, the two of them growled angrily as they rushed towards us, Carlos smirked as he ran forward and slid down, clearing one of his feet while the other ran towards , he swiped his clawed hand at but with a simple step back I was able to dodge it. Then I threw my fist forward and it hit him square on his jaw, he stumbled backward but imdiately regained himself and rushed at again, I kicked the side of his knee and he fell to the ground so I stomped his face, he fell to the ground but pushed himself back up, he had cald down, anger still filled his eyes but he was taking his ti, he had learned that rushing at wouldn’t work, he stepped forward and threw a punch, I blocked it with my forearm then drew him towards and punched the side of his face, he stumbled backward but I wouldn’t let him regain his stamina as I jumped into the air and slamd my fist into his nose, he let out a pained grunt as he covered his bleeding nose, I rushed forward to finish him off but before I got to him Carlos slamd a brick into the side of his head and knocked him out.

"Weren’t you the one who taught how to fight?" Carlos teased with a chuckle.

"This fucking cancer is slowing down," I replied as I stepped over the body and stood beside him.

"Let’s go in." He said as he turned back to the entrance, we started walking, and just like that all the hairs on my body stood alert, as sothing shot from the door of the building straight at Carlos, it stuck in his neck.

"Fuck." He winced as he imdiately pulled it out and showed it to , a dart.

"What’s the—" Before he could finish talking his body went numb and he fell to the floor, unconscious, I rushed to him.

"Carlos!" I shouted as I tried to wake him up but he was unresponsive, as I looked up I saw a man standing at the door with a gun in his hand.

"Shit." I cursed quietly as the man fired a dart into , I grunted, and a stinging pain shot through but I was still able to stand, my sight was blurry and there was a ringing sound persistent in my ear.

"Ohhhh." The man at the door said, amusent and surprise evident in his voice "You’re a strong motherfucker aren’t you?"

"St—Sto—Stop," I said, my words a tired slur.

"Nah." The man replied as he raised the gun and fired another one at .

"Fuuuuc—" I said as I looked at the dart in my chest, I looked back at the man then everything went black.
