SIMON~
The car ca to a halt and the engine died as I turned the key and removed it from its slot, I looked through the tinted windows of the car and just a few steps away was the entrance of what used to be a Silver hollow base, the mont I had entered this car I had stopped being John but the mont I stepped out of it I would have to be Simon. I let out an exhausted sigh and looked at the rearview mirror allowing my face to revert to its original form.
"Simon Reverend, the alpha," I said calmly, looking into my reflection as I held onto the handle and pushed open the door, I stepped out of the car and walked to the entrance but sothing felt off, The steps I took felt heavy, burdened by the weight of all the wolves who put their faith in . The life I had chosen to live left no space for weakness or mistakes, I wasn’t just an alpha anymore, I was the Alpha.
I walked through the open door of my office and took a seat behind my desk, everything remained exactly how I had left it, every pen, note, and file untouched and unmoved. I opened the second drawer on the desk and picked out an old silver necklace, cheap, the paint had begun to wash away and it reeked off the tallic stench of iron, as I looked at the faded piece of jewelry I rembered her.
"Take this, and let it be a part of you." She had said as she locked the necklace around my neck, I could no longer rember her face, so many mories yet I couldn’t picture her, and what she looked like was lost on , She was everything to and now I only saw her in my dreams, fragnts of what was and what used to be, my jaw tightened as I rembered the night I lost her, I gripped the necklace harder.
"I’m almost there, I’m almost there mot—" Before I could finish speaking Leo entered the office.
"You’re back." He said with faint excitent, I nodded as I kept the necklace back in its place and turned to him.
"I am."
"Good." He said with a smile as he walked to my desk and handed two files.
"Is there a problem?"
"No, those are just the records of holdings that are now in our na," Leo answered with a bubbling smile.
"Good, have you looked through them?"
"Yes, all of them are precise and account for every building, structure, business, and share transferred from all the packs now under your control."
"How are we sure they aren’t holding out?"
"Because I had already done a thorough investigation on all their assets before they handed them to us.", I let out a small breath of relief, thankful that Leo was here to iron out all the tedious details.
"Are there any rebellions brewing?"
"None, and even the ones that existed before all dispersed after that day at the arena," Leo said with a prideful smirk.
"It served its purpose perfectly," I said, an amused chuckle escaping my lips.
"Guess what."
"What?"
"The people have a na for you now," Leo said barely able to hold back his excitent.
"What is it?"
"The Usurper." He said with glee, I almost chuckled at his child-like excitent but restrained myself to a smile.
"I like it." I said, "No rebellions, no petty grievances, it’s all moving along smoothly?" I asked
"Yes, for the ti being at least." He answered , I put the first file down and looked at the other one.
"What’s this?" I asked.
"That’s what I was able to find out about Lucas’s daughter in the human sector." He answered calmly, I smiled as I opened the file and began to look through it.
"Wilson Advertising, 24 years old, NYU, a Son?" I asked not sure if it was a typo.
"Yes."
"Is the father in the picture?"
"No, I assu it was just a boyfriend who didn’t want to use a condom and didn’t want to deal with the responsibility of having a child."
"But you’re not sure about that?"
"Nope, judging by her father I doubt it’s a child born out of anything other than careless behavior and bad decisions," Leo answered, and honestly I didn’t bla him for thinking that way, trashy fathers made trashy children.
"Do we at least know what sector the father is from?"
"The boy is six years old and judging from the month he was born and the tiline in which she left, I deduced that he is most likely from the wolf sector and the boy is most likely a product of the mating festival."
"Why Does her na say Dina yers."
"She seed to have legally changed it when she got to the human sector."
"Why?"
"A fresh start or maybe she doesn’t just like having the na of that idiot," Leo answered indifferently, obviously caring little about the subject.
"A change of na feels a little excessive though, is she running from sothing?"
"Well, I couldn’t really find a definite reason for why she left Howlcreek but if I was to make an assumption based on so things I found out, it probably has sothing to do with her being ostracized after her father’s betrayal of the pack but other than that, I didn’t find anything else during my search," he answered. I was suspicious, sothing told there was more to this girl than t the eye and I would find out what it was.
"Sothing’s off about her, I can feel it," I said.
"I’ll keep looking into it."
"Good, keep a close eye on her."
"Should I assign soone to surveil her?" He asked.
"No, she’s not a priority and we can’t spare n" I replied, he nodded and turned around to leave but stopped when he reached the door
"You’re almost there Simon." He said excitedly, a smile curved my lips.
"I’m almost there," I repeated.
