Chapter 221: Chapter 221 – Now that you’ve seen my wolf
By the ti Daisy caught wind of the whispers spreading through the pack, her curiosity and irritation had already taken hold, pushing her to head in the sa direction Seraphine had gone, her steps quick and purposeful as she followed the faint trail into the woods.
It didn’t take long for her to realize Seraphine wasn’t anywhere in sight, and the stillness around her told her everything she needed to know. She had co out here for a run.
Daisy paused, her eyes sweeping left and right, her senses stretching outward cautiously, making sure no one was close enough to witness what she was about to do, because unlike the others, she had far more to hide.
Once she was certain she was alone, she shifted into her wolf form.
During training sessions, she had always found excuses, feigning illness or weakness just to avoid revealing it, because Fenrir wolves were not sothing the pack welcod with open arms.
They were the result of curses, and Daisy got hers from a sin she kept running away from. However, her wolf was proof of it.
She had only just begun to move when everything went wrong.
Out of nowhere, a white gifted wolf appeared, its presence overwhelming, its movents swift and relentless as it chased her down with a force that left no room for escape.
Panic surged through Daisy as she tried to break away, her instincts screaming at her to flee, but the gap between them closed too quickly, and before she could even shift to her human form, she was caught.
Helplessness gripped her, sharp and suffocating, until the white wolf suddenly withdrew, the attack halting as it shifted back into human form.
Relief ca first, then shock. Because standing before her was the last person she had expected.
Seraphine.
Daisy stared, her mind struggling to catch up with what she had just witnessed, because the truth settled in fast and heavy.
Seraphine carried a white gifted wolf, sothing rare, powerful, and one, Ravyn clearly had no idea about, just as he had no idea about her own secret. He had never cared enough to notice, never insisted on running together, and that lack of attention had worked in Daisy’s favor for far too long.
Now, though, things were different.
"What?" Daisy scoffed, masking the unease creeping into her chest as she forced a smirk onto her lips. "Are you scared?"
Seraphine didn’t answer. Instead, she turned and began walking toward where she had left her clothes, her pace steady, her silence far more unsettling than any response Daisy had expected.
Daisy followed closely behind, her irritation growing with every step that went unanswered. "You’re scared, aren’t you?" she pressed, her voice sharper now, edged with a taunt she hoped would provoke sothing. "Now that you’ve seen my wolf."
Still, Seraphine said nothing.
She reached the branch where her clothes hung and began dressing calmly, as though Daisy’s presence ant nothing, as though her words carried no weight at all, and that quiet dismissal only made the tension tighten further.
Then, finally, Seraphine spoke.
"Daisy," she said, her tone even, almost too calm, "you might want to die today, and trust , my wolf would be more than happy to grant that wish."
She slipped on her shoes, her movents unhurried, precise.
"But I stopped her," she continued, lifting her gaze to et Daisy’s, her eyes sharp now, cutting straight through her, "because your sins haven’t been exposed yet, and until they are, I’ll make sure you stay alive long enough to face them."
The color drained from Daisy’s face despite her efforts to remain composed, her heart beginning to pound as unease twisted into sothing far more unsettling.
Still, she forced herself to push back, refusing to crumble. "You don’t know anything about ," she shot back, though the edge in her voice wasn’t as steady as she wanted it to be.
A faint smile curved along Seraphine’s lips, one that carried no warmth at all.
"Nothing?" she repeated softly. "Not that you’re the one who released the chemical that left your pack mbers paralyzed... or that you’re Zane’s obedient little pet?"
The world seed to stop. Daisy’s expression shattered, her eyes widening as if she had just co face to face with sothing she couldn’t comprehend, because there was no way Seraphine should know any of that.
Panic took over.
Instead of retreating, Daisy lunged forward, her movents fueled by desperation and fear, but Seraphine reacted just as quickly, stepping aside with ease before driving her fist straight into Daisy’s face.
The impact was imdiate, sending Daisy stumbling back as pain exploded through her.
"That," Seraphine said, her voice cold and steady, "is for drugging
that night and setting everything up."
Fear tightened its grip around Daisy’s chest, suffocating and absolute, because this was no longer just suspicion. Seraphine knew too much, far more than she should, and that made her a threat that couldn’t be ignored.
Her thoughts raced, landing on the only option she had left.
Quickly, she reached out through the mindlink, her voice laced with urgency. Rav, Sera wants to kill .
Then she moved again, this ti dropping low, reaching for Seraphine’s legs as fury and desperation tangled together. "You... I’ll kill you—"
The words barely left her mouth before a sharp kick connected with her, sending her back once more, and before she could recover, Seraphine’s fingers extended, claws forming as they slashed across Daisy’s face, tearing through skin and drawing blood that spilled freely.
Seraphine watched it for a brief second, her expression unreadable.
You wanted her blood... now you have it, she murmured inwardly.
Marsha’s response ca with a quiet, satisfied hum. I would have preferred to end her, but this works... for now.
"Daisy!"
Ravyn’s voice cut through the tension as he rushed toward them, urgency clear in every step, with Voren close behind him. The mont Voren caught sight of Daisy’s naked form, he turned away imdiately, stepping back just as Damon approached from the other direction, only to bump into him.
It wasn’t unusual for werewolves to see each other like this during war or battle, but in a mont like this, it carried a different weight.
"What’s going on?" Damon asked quickly, concern evident in his voice as his gaze moved between Voren and the scene ahead. He had only stepped away briefly after settling Bryan, grabbing a few things before heading out, but the mont he saw Voren’s expression, he knew sothing was wrong.
"I’m not sure yet," Voren replied under his breath, keeping his back turned. "Let Ravyn handle it."
From where they stood, Daisy’s voice carried through the trees, weak but loud enough to reach them. "I ca here for a run... and she attacked ," she said, blood trailing down her face, her tone trembling just enough to sell the lie.
Ravyn’s gaze moved slowly to Seraphine, his expression tightening as conflicting emotions flickered through him.
"Care to explain?" he asked, his voice controlled, though the tension behind it was impossible to miss, as if he already knew he wouldn’t like whatever answer she gave.
