Chapter 219: Chapter 219 – Rav... Sera wants to kill
Chapter 219 – Rav... Sera wants to kill .
Daisy had barely stepped out of the pack house, the heavy air inside pressing against her chest until she couldn’t take it anymore, when she made her way into the garden, hoping the cool breeze would calm the restless tension crawling beneath her skin. She had only just begun to breathe a little easier when the mindlink slamd into her head so abruptly it made her flinch.
Her brows pulled together instantly, confusion tightening her expression as she answered, ’What are you talking about?’
The reply ca fast, laced with disbelief and frustration. ’I wanted Luna Sera to teach
how to produce the cure for the chemical explosion, but can you believe she’s asking for ten billion?’
For a mont, Daisy just stood there, completely frozen, the number echoing in her head like sothing unreal, sothing that didn’t belong in her world. Ten billion.
Her eyes widened slowly, her breath catching as she tried to process it. That wasn’t just money, but a fortune she had never even co close to imagining, let alone touching.
And yet Seraphine had said it like it was nothing.
Daisy swallowed, her fingers curling slightly at her sides as a sharp, uneasy feeling settled in her chest. ’Did you tell Ravyn?’ she asked quickly.
’He’s the one who went to ask her,’ ca the answer, irritation bleeding through every word. ’But he’s refusing to pay. Says we can’t afford her. Can you believe that? It’s like she’s turned into so untouchable prodigy overnight, soone no one can even get close to anymore. Even the beta is glued to her like a personal bodyguard.’
Daisy’s jaw tightened faintly.
Out of everyone, she would have preferred Ravyn being the one close to Seraphine, because at least that was sothing she could understand, sothing she could manage, but Damon... Damon was an entirely different story.
His wealth even surpassed Ravyn’s, making sothing uncomfortable twist deep inside her.
Her lips pressed into a thin line, determination creeping into her voice as she responded, ’Don’t worry. I’ll put her in her place. Just wait.’
There was a brief pause before the voice returned, softer this ti. ’I heard she won’t be staying long.’
Daisy’s gaze drifted across the garden, her expression settling into sothing colder, more calculating. ’I know.’
??????????
Ravyn walked alongside Voren toward the pack office, his steps steady but his mind far from calm, finding a small asure of relief in knowing Bryan was with Seraphine.
At least for now, that responsibility wasn’t pressing down on him, giving him a narrow window to bury himself in work before everything ca crashing back again.
Around them, the pack moved as usual, mbers busy with their routines, their voices blending into a low hum of activity.
Still, scattered along the pathways were small clusters of pack mbers whispering among themselves, their attention clearly focused on whatever they were discussing.
They hadn’t noticed their Alpha approaching.
"I heard Luna Sera is back," one of them said, her voice filled with envy.
The words drifted through the air, casual but sharp enough to catch Ravyn’s attention instantly.
"We all knew she’d co crawling back," another voice added with a scoff. "But honestly, no one even cares about her anymore."
"I just hope Alpha nas Co-Luna as the new Luna, just to make a point. Luna Sera doesn’t belong here, never did, never will."
"I heard she changed overnight," soone else chid in, their tone laced with curiosity and jealousy. "Like those human supermodels or sothing."
"I don’t believe it," another replied dismissively. "She used to walk around like an old hag, always waiting for Alpha to notice her. The only ti she ever stood out was during training. Back then, she was fierce, no one could match her strength."
"And at the hospital too—"
The sentence cut off abruptly as the sound of soone clearing their throat sliced through the conversation.
One by one, they turned, and the mont their eyes landed on Ravyn, all color drained from their faces. Panic flickered in their expressions before they scattered in different directions, disappearing almost instantly like they had never been there at all.
Silence fell.
Ravyn stood still, his expression darkening, sothing heavy settling behind his eyes. "Is that really how they saw her?" he muttered quietly, more to himself than to Voren. "Is that how they treated her?"
He had witnessed bits and pieces during training before, heard the murmurs, caught the looks, but he had brushed it off, convincing himself it was nothing more than harmless talk.
Now, standing there with the echo of those words still hanging in the air, it didn’t feel harmless at all.
Voren’s gaze lingered on him, sothing distinct and almost incredulous flashing through his eyes. "Are you seriously telling
you didn’t know?" he asked, his voice edged with sothing that made Ravyn uneasy, he could not answer the question.
A quiet sha crept in instead, settling deep in his chest as he turned away, pushing the thoughts aside for now, though they refused to fully leave him. He would deal with it later, he told himself, already deciding to address the issue during the next training session.
For now, there was work, and work ca relentlessly.
Hours passed without either of them noticing, the weight of responsibilities swallowing them whole as Ravyn buried himself in reports and decisions, while Voren remained glued to his phone, responding to emails and handling matters that refused to wait. At so point, they paused just long enough to share a al, the conversation between them minimal, both too consud by their own thoughts to say much.
Then they went right back to it.
Ti slipped through their fingers unnoticed, the world outside fading until nothing existed but the steady rhythm of work, until it was violently interrupted.
Daisy’s mindlink tore through Ravyn’s head without warning, sharp and frantic, leaving no room for anything else.
’Rav... Sera wants to kill .’
