"The Mu Family is tight-lipped about what happened that day?" Feng Huaijin furrowed his brows and coldly retorted.
The bodyguard on the other end of the line almost burst into tears, "Yes, Mr. Qi. All we know is that Fourth Young Master went to the Mu Family, but we have no idea what he was up to. The entire family absolutely refuses to ntion anything about it."
When sothing unusual happens, there’s always sothing strange behind it.
Feng Huaijin slightly squinted his eyes, deep in thought, not even noticing the sound of Su Li gently opening the door.
"And also, it seems that Miss Mu Qingi went to her grandfather’s nursing ho. They got into an argunt, and she was scolded harshly by the old Mr. Mu. Hmm... the exact conversation wasn’t overheard, but Miss Mu Qingi’s face looked quite displeased."
Tsk, this is really strange.
Who doesn’t have secrets? What family doesn’t have so intriguing gossip? Like those prestigious families in An City, so scandalous affairs are more than plenty.
But the strange part is—Feng Ciye got involved.
The Fourth Young Master is the shrewdest of them all and usually only takes care of his own business. He never ddles in other families’ matters, and he wouldn’t even want to hear about them.
His sudden visit to the Mu Family caused quite a stir.
Feng Huaijin squinted his eyes, and after a brief contemplation, a glimr flashed in his eyes, his thin lips curled into a slight smile.
Feng Ciye’s involvent in this matter is likely directly linked to the Feng Family.
To cause a conflict between Mu Qingi and her closest grandfather, it’s likely a major issue for the Mu Family... And this major issue is intricately connected with the Feng Family.
Interesting.
As Feng Huaijin was pondering this, he suddenly heard a soft thudding sound. He turned his head abruptly to see Su Li silently yawning towards his knee, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Su Li, what are you doing?" Feng Huaijin imdiately hung up the phone, walked over to pick her up, and placed her on the sofa, asking sternly.
Su Li looked at her bruised knee and took a sharp breath, "I- I accidentally bumped into it, but it doesn’t hurt anymore."
Earlier, she was itching with curiosity, wanting to eavesdrop on the conversation, but her legs went weak, and she hit the sharp corner of the study’s coffee table.
"It’s late at night, why aren’t you sleeping? What are you doing in the study?" Feng Huaijin frowned, looking at the bruise on Su Li’s leg, and took a dical spray from the drawer to tend to her wound.
Su Li raised her chin, justifying herself, "Then why are you here in the study, not sleeping in the middle of the night?!"
Earlier, she noticed the person next to her was missing and was startled awake.
Su Li pointed at her wound and countered, "I only bumped into it because I ca out looking for you. If anyone’s to bla, it’s you, not ."
Feng Huaijin raised his eyebrows slightly, a charming smile appearing on his face. This little girl’s temper has grown; she’s directly challenging him now.
Feng Huaijin gently applied so dicine to her knee, the cooling sensation soothing the bruise, and said in a deep voice, "Alright, it’s all my fault, entirely my fault."
Su Li saw him smiling without saying anything and looked over at the desk. Scattered docunts lay on it, and the computer was still on.
It’s quite obvious he was working overti.
Su Li stared in disbelief; after getting back so late last night and doing who knows what with her, he still has the energy to work overti?
Is he made of tal?
Even a damn machine needs to recharge to keep operating, right?
The old butler keeps worrying about the young master’s poor kidneys, but his seem to be doing exceptionally well instead?
Shocked, Su Li didn’t even process Feng Huaijin’s "entirely my fault".
"Alright, it’s all my fault if I could still leave you with the energy to wake up in the middle of the night."
