Chapter 1382: Chapter 1149: Phoenix Elegy_2

This is a title that easily evokes unpleasant associations!

Forcibly suppressing the urge for wild thoughts.

Hu Ji looked down.

Harry Potter and Dumbledore entered a cave.

They passed through nurous dangers and finally stopped in front of a stone basin filled with green liquid.

Dumbledore concluded that the Soul Device was inside.

Strangely though, the liquid couldn’t be scooped out by hand, nor could it be ladled away or siphoned off, and it couldn’t be made to disappear with magic.

The only solution was to drink it!

“This potion will certainly prevent from obtaining the Soul Device, it might paralyze , make forget my purpose for being here, cause extre pain, make it impossible to concentrate, or incapacitate in so other way. If any of this happens, Harry, you must ensure I keep drinking it, even if you have to force it into my closed mouth. Do you understand?”

Dumbledore spoke.

Harry Potter refused outright.

But Dumbledore coldly insisted that Harry must comply!

“Why can’t I be the one to drink the potion?”

Harry asked in despair.

Dumbledore’s reply was: “Because I am much older, much wiser, and far less valuable than you.”

At that mont.

Hu Ji felt a pang of bitterness in his heart.

Though his favorite character was Snape.

Hu Ji’s love for Dumbledore was no less than for Snape!

This was a kindly and great sage, like Harry Potter’s life ntor.

He always patiently guided Harry, leading the child out of confusion and bewildernt ti and again.

“To your health, Harry.”

Dumbledore said before drinking the green liquid.

Harry stared in terror, his hands clenching the edge of the stone basin so tightly that his fingertips went numb.

Hu Ji too was incredibly tense at heart!

Yet Dumbledore showed no reaction, rely keeping his eyes tightly shut, making it impossible to tell if he was in pain.

And so it went.

Dumbledore silently drank three cups.

By the fourth cup, Dumbledore suddenly staggered and fell forward onto the stone basin.

His eyes still closed, his breathing beca heavy.

“I don’t want to…”

Dumbledore finally spoke, unwilling to drink any more, as if the liquid held a magical power that plunged him into unprecedented pain.

Harry was at a loss.

But ultimately, he gritted his teeth and forced Dumbledore to drink the potions; he had promised Dumbledore.

Despite Dumbledore crying and pleading with him:

“Don’t make …”

“Stop…”

“I beg you…”

“Let die…”

“Kill …”

“Anything but that, anything else I’ll do…”

At that mont.

Harry felt an intense sense of guilt.

He despised what he was doing, making his whole body tremble violently each ti he pried open Dumbledore’s mouth.

Simultaneously.

Reading to this point, Hu Ji’s heart also clenched tightly; this was Dumbledore, the greatest figure in Hogwarts’ history, now so humble!

Agony!

Too agonizing!

Too oppressive!

He knew he shouldn’t bla Harry Potter for being too cruel, too heartless, too unfeeling, but he couldn’t help it!

At the sa ti, he understood:

This was an inevitable ans to defeat Voldemort.

Harry Potter was following the headmaster’s orders.

To defeat Voldemort, soone had to endure pain and sacrifice.

Cedric was like that!

Sirius was like that!

And now it was Dumbledore’s turn.

The good news is, Dumbledore was still alive, he needed water!

Yes.

Dumbledore was still alive.

After drinking all the potions, Harry Potter obtained a golden locket.

Countless corpses erged from the lake.

Harry was barely holding on.

It was Dumbledore who used large-scale magic to save him and led him out of the cave!

Holding the book.

Hu Ji sighed heavily in relief.

The plot has reached this point, and the story is nearing its end.

Hu Ji recalled the frightening title of the last chapter:

White Tomb.

Whose tomb was it?

He was sowhat hesitant to continue reading, but held on to a glimr of hope.

Maybe it was just a misunderstanding.

Eventually, he continued reading.

However.

As he read on, Hu Ji’s hands suddenly started to tremble, turning a ghastly white from overexertion!

Just like his face, pale as paper!

Dead…

Dumbledore, dead!!!

Malfoy took advantage of Dumbledore’s grievous injuries, disard his wand but lacked the courage to strike.

Nonetheless, Dumbledore still died.

It wasn’t Malfoy who killed Dumbledore.

Nor was it several Death Eaters, secretly brought by Malfoy through so hidden ans.

It was indeed—

Snape!

Hu Ji’s favorite character, the one who was always suspected of not being good, but repeatedly protected Harry and stood by Dumbledore’s side, Severus Snape!

Monts before dying.

Dumbledore made a plea, for the very first ti, to soone: “Severus… please…”

Yet.

Snape only gazed at Dumbledore montarily, his face marked with deep lines of disdain and hatred.

“Avada Kedavra!”

A green light shot from the tip of Snape’s wand, hitting Dumbledore squarely in the face.

Without rcy!

Harry hid in the shadows.

A scream of terror stuck in his throat; he was under a spell cast by Dumbledore, unable to make a sound or move, silently watching Dumbledore being struck into the air.

Avada Kedavra.

The dreadful skull exploded forth: [Dumbledore seed to pause for a second under the flashing skull, then, like a worn-out rag doll, slowly fell backward, vanishing from the battlent’s edge.]

Still holding the book.

Hu Ji stared blankly at this brutally described chapter’s end, seemingly frozen.

Dazed.

Puzzled.

Furious.

Agonized.

As a staunch fan of Snape, this mont of his was unprecedentedly bewildered.

Betrayal?

Hu Ji turned the pages subconsciously, though his movents were utterly chanical.

Oh.

It turns out Snape was the Half-Blood Prince.

It turns out the Soul Device they got was fake.

The real Soul Device had already been preempted by the Dark Lord.

As these secrets were uncovered, Hu Ji felt no emotional fluctuations, still dazed, chanically flipping the pages.

Phoenix Lant…

This was the penultimate chapter’s title.

Harry knew the phoenix of the flas had left, never to return to Hogwarts, just like Dumbledore, forever leaving the school, leaving this world.

Leaving Harry.

As for the final chapter, “White Tomb,” it belonged to no one else; it was Dumbledore’s.

And at this mont, the Potterhead Group was completely erupting.

No.

Not just the Potterhead Group.

Every reader was erupting at this mont!

It should be said…

Once again…

ps: I don’t know how to write the ending, because I haven’t seen the later content. It seems that back in the day I saw up to this point, got spoiled by various channels about the ending, so I didn’t dare to continue reading. But Polluted White seems to have to provide the ending?
