If only I were really a man...

...

The glow from the pile of firewood in the Daoist Temple was dim.

Su Bei gently wiped the two swords in his Sword Box, feeling a completely new energy circulating through his body, and murmured to himself, "Swords need nurturing."

The Qingping Sword was already second nature to him, but when it ca to the Missing Departure, he still had quite a way to go in terms of control.

All the myriad laws in the world do not stray from their origins; what countless cultivators have sought since ancient tis is that great longevity, immortality.

Only those cultivators who achieve minor longevity truly deserve the title "Immortal," having initially "Achieved Dao." For Sword Cultivators, the sword nurtures the person, and the person nurtures the sword. The unity of sword and human isn't as exaggerated as it sounds. However, if one wishes to reach the end of a cultivator's journey, they must, at the very least, nurture a Sword Spirit.

A Sword Spirit that belongs to oneself.

Su Bei slowly closed his eyes. His Dantian Knowledge Sea opened completely, his soul slipping out and rging with the surrounding heavens and earth. He then saw himself seated in ditation.

His soul wrapped around the Missing Departure for a mont, then returned to his body.

Touching the sword again, he could feel it had beco a bit more intimate than a mont before.

Seeing this, Su Bei nodded in satisfaction, then picked up the Longsword, skewered a piece of pork, and began roasting it over the fire. "The sword is well-nurtured."

Missing Departure: "..."

The flowers shone brightly while the moon was dim, all veiled in a light mist.

Footsteps approached quietly from behind Su Bei. In the flickering firelight, he could vaguely see the familiar swirl of white silk.

With no moon in the vast sky, everything around was sowhat dim.

Su Bei's mouth curved into a smile. Without looking, he swept the woman into his arms with a laugh, saying, "Ji Baoer, why did you co back alone?"

"Speak! Where did you leave Zi Jun?"

...

In the anti... his arousal began to rise gradually.

Pressing down upon her, his hand brushed her earlobe... moving in rhythm with the curves of her body beneath him.

Li Zijun's eyes were wide, her mind a blank, allowing Su Bei to pull her toward him in one smooth motion.

Feeling his adept hands wandering over her body, she couldn't think for a mont.

She had just bathed and still carried a delicate fragrance, filling the Daoist Temple with an intimate atmosphere.

Her face gradually flushed. It was uncertain if this was due to the awkwardness of her position or because his large hand held her wrist so firmly.

Su Bei frowned slightly, also beginning to realize sothing was amiss.

Clearly, Ji Baoer should feel more... ample, and not so innocent. He also seed to feel the woman beneath him trembling.

"Master... Master."

Li Zijun finally collected herself from the shock, her small hands sowhat frantically pushing against Su Bei, nervously saying, "I'm not Sister Nan Ji... I'm Zi Jun..."

...

Her words carried a touch of grievance as she turned her body to the side, looking away and biting her lip.

Su Bei was instantly stunned, bending down to gaze blankly at the woman before him.

What sort of beastly thing have I done?

The atmosphere turned awkward. Su Bei wanted to comfort her by patting her head, but he feared this action might cause further misunderstanding. His hand froze mid-air as he swallowed.

"Disciple, your Master didn't know it was you..."

"You're wearing your Master's wife's clothes, and the firelight is dim..."

Li Zijun mumbled a response, her head lowered, her expression unreadable.

"Master... can you get off first?"

...

Su Bei gave her an awkward smile, then gently got up, touched his nose, and thoughtfully said, "I really didn't know..."

As he spoke, he grasped her snowy wrist, intending to pull her up.

The flickering firelight danced on their faces, each lost in their own thoughts.

For so reason, looking at Li Zijun's flawless, jade-like face, Su Bei felt a sudden impulse, and his heart began to beat faster.

Compared to Nan Ji, his movents just now had been undeniably bold, and the sensation of Li Zijun in his arms was distinctly different.

Yet that gentle, almost imperceptible aloofness stirred a strange feeling in Su Bei.

Seemingly forgetting the previous awkwardness, Su Bei raised his hand again, extending two fingers to tentatively caress Li Zijun's face.

He hesitated for a mont, but eventually, his fingers touched her smooth, jade-like cheek.

Li Zijun's delicate body trembled lightly. Her intelligent eyes, like stars, widened slightly as she shifted, creating a small space between them. This ti, she didn't resist fiercely but closed her eyes, allowing Su Bei to gently stroke her beautiful face with two fingers.

Warm and smooth like jade.

Suddenly, Su Bei saw pearl-like tears slide from the corners of Li Zijun's eyes, tracing paths down her snow-white cheeks.

The swaying firelight reflected two tear stains.

Su Bei's hand paused, then gently slid to Li Zijun's rosy chin. He tilted her face toward him, gazing at her stunning beauty.

With two fingers, he gently wiped away her tears and said softly, "I'm sorry."

"Master..."

Li Zijun looked at Su Bei, her beautiful eyes brimming with tears.

Why am I crying? she wondered. Is it because of his offense? Or because there's no future for us?

Seeing the montary distraction in his eyes, Li Zijun didn't know what expression to make.

Is it helplessness?

"Flowers in the mirror, the moon in the water."

Li Zijun gently lifted her head, a faint smile touching her lips as she hid the last tear in the depths of her eyes. "Disciple doesn't bla you, Master."

"Sister Nan Ji gave the dress. That's why Master mistook ."

...

Su Bei gave her an embarrassed smile, suppressing the terrible thoughts that had just surged within him.

Why are all the disciples I take so strange? Each one feels as if we've spent long years together, as if there's an indescribable emotion between us.

Just then, the door opened.

Ji Nanjue, changed into another set of clothes, walked in. Her expression was peculiar as she surveyed the scene.

Barefoot, she sat beside Su Bei, wiping away the water droplets that still clung to her skin.

A flicker of confusion crossed her eyes. Usually, he would have pounced on by now. Why is he so calm today? What happened between these two while I was gone? The atmosphere is so strange.

"Husband, what's wrong? You seem preoccupied."

Su Bei smiled at her and then embraced Ji Nanjue.

Within Su Bei's embrace, Ji Nanjue sensed a complex mix of emotions. She tilted her head up and kissed the corner of his mouth.

She had been thinking deeply. She knew the road ahead would be long and arduous. The world's indifference would make their journey extraordinarily difficult. Yet, enjoying this mont of tranquility filled her with satisfaction.

Her mindset had gradually begun to shift.

Not seeking to be together day and night, but content to have had this ti together.

"It's nothing."

"It's late. We should sleep..." Su Bei stroked her hair.

Ji Nanjue stood up and took the preoccupied Li Zijun's small hand. She carefully examined the dress Li Zijun was wearing—her own dress—and nodded. "Zi Jun, this dress suits you quite well..."

Li Zijun's face turned crimson.

Then Ji Nanjue glanced at Su Bei and said with feigned coldness, "As punishnt, you'll sleep outside tonight. I'll sleep with Zi Jun."

"How about that, Zi Jun?" She winked at Li Zijun.

Li Zijun, startled, looked up at Su Bei, then at Ji Nanjue beside her. Feeling a bit sorry for him, she said, "That's not good... It looks like it's going to rain outside."

Su Bei knew Nan Ji was giving him an out; she must have noticed the earlier awkwardness.

A warmth spread through his heart. He looked at Ji Nanjue. "I'll go outside then..."

At that mont, faint footsteps suddenly sounded from not far away.

The unexpected noise made all three of them frown. Su Bei was sowhat puzzled. After a long pause, he asked, "At this late hour, could there still be pedestrians?"
