Faint starlight fell upon Li Zijun's face, with droplets of water clinging to the strands of hair on her forehead, dripping down to her collarbones.

After getting wet, her clothes clung to her body, rendering her exquisite figure like that of a halved fruit. Her jade arms bent slightly, revealing her charming grace.

Her delicate hands gently gathered her long, water-soaked hair behind her head. The waterlogged garnt sketched the perfect contours of her body, causing her to glance a bit embarrassedly at Ji Nanjue.

Her clothes, which had not been fully removed, now stuck completely to her body, slightly revealing the color of her skin. The usually loose robes had not exposed much, but now the true beauty of her figure was revealed.

Ji Nanjue looked at her with obvious surprise, then curled the corner of her mouth with a playful tone, "The teacher and disciple are indeed cut from the sa cloth... even in lying."

"Fine, call 'sister' if you like. 'Mistress' sohow sounds too old-fashioned."

"..."

Her jade legs, hidden beneath the water, gently stirred the surface, creating a splash of droplets.

Then, with a light push of her arms, she stood up without a shred of clothing covering her, the water reaching just over her thighs, revealing half her waist – slender and flat without a trace of excess flesh.

"Take off your clothes; you can't bathe with them on, can you?"

Throughout the journey, that one robe had been with Li Zijun for who knows how long, although it bore no visible stains.

Li Zijun, a bit shy, took off her clothes and placed them on the riverbank, before promptly sitting down in the pool, hiding herself completely.

Ji Nanjue didn't laugh at her and sat down beside her.

The air was sowhat oppressive, and the ti before the rain always seed particularly restless.

Her small hands gently splashed the water, letting it fall around her. Suddenly, she spoke, "You've only t him a few tis, yet you're so certain of your heart?"

"At this age, it's normal to have soone in your heart that you aspire to, but you don't seem like soone who acts impulsively."

"I'm very curious, can you share what's on your mind?"

She paused for a mont, feeling her question was sowhat tricky. Ji Nanjue added with a smile, "Of course, it's okay if you don't want to say..."

As she spoke, her eyes were on Li Zijun.

"Thoughts, huh?"

Li Zijun gently pursed her thin lips, not looking at Ji Nanjue, but murmuring softly.

Gazing at the sowhat murky pool, she pondered for a mont and spoke in a low voice, "Does liking soone always require a reason?"

"Isn't it that at a certain mont, because of sothing that touches the depths of one's heart, unknowingly, soone appears in that heart?"

"Perhaps it's just a glance, just an action."

Ji Nanjue was stunned for a mont, listening to her voice that was sowhat filled with sorrow. Although the tone was gentle, there was sothing about her intonation that conveyed a great deal of frustration.

Then she enveloped her tightly in her arms, her face against her cheek, "Love at first sight?"

Ji Nanjue might have scoffed at this phrase before. She considered it nothing more than nonsense. The idea that two people could confirm their feelings for each other after a single glance seed possible only if they coveted each other's good looks. But now, her heart had gradually co to accept this phrase. Her life with Su Bei always seed to align unintentionally. That return from death's door had deepened the emotional bond between them substantially. Perhaps before that night, the image of that person had already been imprinted into her heart. It was just that her long-sealed heart had never admitted it.

"That's also true."

Li Zijun smiled wryly. It seed she had been misunderstood by Ji Nanjue. Her feelings for Su Bei were not as nonchalant as she had described. It was after nearly a century of mutual refinent that she had confird her heart's intent.

"Sister Nan Ji, Zi Jun feels a bit cold..."

She hugged her arms tight, batting her eyelids at Ji Nanjue.

"I think I'll head back."

Ji Nanjue smiled warmly at her. "Mistress... no, Sister will stay alone for a bit."

Her heart was tangled with complexities. Ultimately, she was a woman. Even though she knew she and Su Bei could never openly be together, she still felt repulsed by any woman who sought to take a portion of that tenderness away from her. Furthermore, this woman was his disciple... From both an emotional and a rational standpoint, it felt deeply wrong. A sowhat bizarre idea popped into Ji Nanjue's mind. His disciple, her master... and she was caught in the middle? What a complicated relationship... A generational entanglent, indeed. It's all Su Dudu's fault. In matters of the heart, there is no right or wrong. But if bla must be assigned, it all stems from that fickle heartthrob. If he hadn't made a habit of leaving affections everywhere and stirring up trouble, how could so many emotional debts have arisen? He certainly had it easy...

Li Zijun waved her hand in front of Ji Nanjue's face, bringing her back to the mont. She playfully pinched her tender nose and said with a smile, "You've been wearing that robe for quite so ti. If you don't mind, you can temporarily wear my garnt."

"..."

She then pointed toward the white gauze dress on the shore.

Li Zijun blinked her eyes and then gave Ji Nanjue a sweet smile.

RUSTLE, RUSTLE. She put on the dress and headed for the Daoist Temple.

Ji Nanjue watched Li Zijun's retreating figure and sighed softly.
