"If only I really were a man..."
...
The stack of firewood within the Daoist Temple glowed dimly.
With gentle strokes, Su Bei was cleaning the two swords inside the Sword Box, feeling a brand-new stream of Qi coursing through all the ridians in her body, and she muttered to herself, "The sword needs cultivation."
The Qingping Sword had already beco second nature to her, but controlling the Missing Departure remained sowhat deficient.
All myriad laws in the world don't stray from their origins; what countless cultivators have sought since ancient tis is that grand immortality which defies death. Only those cultivators who have achieved minor immortality truly deserve the title "Immortal," having taken the initial steps towards Achieving Dao. And for Sword Cultivators, as the saying goes, the sword nourishes the person, and the person nourishes the sword. It's not as exaggerated as becoming one with the sword, but if one wishes to reach the end of the path of cultivation, at the very least one must nurture a Sword Spirit.
A Sword Spirit of one's own.
Su Bei slowly closed her eyes, opening her entire Dantian Knowledge Sea, letting her soul disperse and beco one with heaven and earth, and there she saw herself sitting cross-legged. Her soul wound around the Missing Departure for a mont before returning to her. Touching the sword once more, she felt it had grown a few degrees more intimate than just a mont ago.
Seeing this, Su Bei nodded in satisfaction, then picked up the Longsword, skewered a piece of pork, and started roasting it over the fire. "The sword has been well cultivated."
Missing Departure: "..."
Flower Bright Moon shrouded in light mist.
Footsteps quietly approached from behind Su Bei, and within the flickering firelight, a familiar wisp of white gauze could vaguely be seen.
The sky was moonless, and everything around seed dim.
A smile curled the corners of Su Bei's mouth, and without looking, she caught the woman in her arms around the waist and laughed, "Ji Baoer, why have you co back alone? Speak! Where did you leave Zi Jun?"
In the midst of talking... things had already started to escalate. Pressed against her, he traced the curve of her ear... following the ups and downs of her body.
Li Zijun's eyes were wide open, her mind blank, letting Su Bei pull her over just like that. Feeling his hands skillfully wandering over her body, she couldn't think at all for the mont.
Having just bathed, her body still emitted a fragrant scent, and an enchanting atmosphere enveloped the inside of the Daoist Temple. Her complexion gradually turned rosy, though it was uncertain if it was due to her own awkward movents or the wrist being held by his large hand.
Su Bei frowned slightly, beginning to realize sothing was amiss. Ji Baoer was supposed to be more... and lacked this tender and inexperienced feeling; it seed that he could feel the woman beneath him trembling.
"M-Master," Li Zijun finally snapped out of her shock, her small hands pushing at Su Bei frantically as she nervously said, "I'm not Sister Nan Ji... I'm Zi Jun..."
Her words were tinged with a hint of grievance as she turned her body aside and looked away, biting her lip.
Su Bei was montarily stunned, leaning over to stare blankly at the woman in front of him. What irredeemable act have I just committed?
The atmosphere grew awkward. Su Bei wanted to comfort her by patting her little head, but he feared this gesture might be misunderstood, so his hand hung frozen in mid-air as he swallowed nervously. "Disciple, your teacher didn't know it was you... You're wearing your master's wife's clothes, and the firelight is dim..."
Li Zijun mumbled a response with her head bowed, her facial expression unclear.
"Master... could you please get up?"
Su Bei gave her an awkward smile, then carefully stood up, touched his nose, and after a pause said, "Your teacher truly didn't know..." With that, he grasped her delicate wrist, intending to pull her to her feet.
The firelight wavered, casting its glow upon their faces, each consud with their own thoughts. For so reason, looking at Li Zijun's crystalline, jade-like countenance, Su Bei felt an impulse rising within him, and his heart began to beat faster. Compared to Nan Ji, his advances on Li Zijun had been quite bold, yet the way Li Zijun felt to him was markedly different. But that tenderness mixed with a subtle aloofness managed to evoke a strange feeling in Su Bei.
Seeming to forget the prior embarrassnt, Su Bei still lifted his hand, extending two fingers tentatively towards Li Zijun's face and gliding them across. He hesitated, but ultimately his fingertips touched her smooth, jade-like cheek.
Li Zijun's slender body shivered slightly, her bright eyes shining like stars. She managed to pull back slightly, and this ti, instead of reacting strongly, she closed her eyes, letting Su Bei gently caress her beautiful face with his two fingers.
Gentle as jade.
Suddenly, Su Bei saw pearls of tears streaming down from the corner of Li Zijun's eyes, gliding over her snow-white cheeks. The flickering firelight illuminated two streaks of tears.
Su Bei's hand paused, and then he gently slid it to Li Zijun's tender chin, cradling it to turn her face, gazing upon her stunning visage. With two fingers, he tenderly wiped away her tears and said softly, "I'm sorry. As your master..."
Li Zijun's eyes t Su Bei's, filled with tears. She didn't know why she was crying. Was it because of his offense? Or because their relationship was dood from the start? Seeing the montary daze in his eyes, she didn't know what expression to wear. Was it helplessness?
Li Zijun gently lifted her head, a smile touching her lips as she concealed the last tear. "Flowers in the mirror, moon on the water," she whispered. "Your disciple doesn't bla you, Master. Sister Nan Ji gave the dress; that's why you mistook , Master."
Su Bei gave her an embarrassed smile, pushing down the terrible thoughts that had just surged in his mind. Why are all of my disciples so peculiar? Each one seems to have shared long years with , and I always feel as if so indescribable affection is involved.
At that mont, the door opened.
Ji Nanjue, dressed in a different garnt, walked in, her expression strangely surveying everything before her. She sat down beside Su Bei barefoot, wiping the undried droplets of water from her skin.
A hint of confusion flickered in her eyes. In the past, he would have pounced on , so why is he so calm today? What happened between them while I was gone? The atmosphere is so strange.
"Husband, what's wrong? Distracted?"
Su Bei smiled at her, then held Ji Nanjue close.
It seed that within Su Bei's embrace, Ji Nanjue felt a mix of intricate emotions. She tilted her head up and kissed Su Bei's lips lightly. I've just been thinking so much. I know the road ahead will be long and arduous. Fate can be uncaring, making our journey together exceptionally difficult. Yet, this mont of peace I'm enjoying fills with great satisfaction. Gradually, my ntality is also shifting. —— I don't seek to be with him morning and night; I only wish to cherish the monts we've had.
"It's nothing," Su Bei said, stroking her hair. "It's late, ti to sleep..."
Ji Nanjue got up, took the distracted Li Zijun's hand, and carefully examined her own dress on Li Zijun, nodding. "Zi Jun looks quite fitting in this dress..."
Li Zijun's face flushed red.
Then Ji Nanjue glanced at Su Bei and said with feigned coldness, "As a punishnt, you will sleep outside tonight, and I will cuddle with Zi Jun. Is that okay with you, Zi Jun?" She winked at Li Zijun.
Li Zijun was taken aback. She looked up at Su Bei, then at Ji Nanjue by her side, and said with a touch of reluctance, "That doesn't seem right... It's going to rain outside."
Nan Ji is giving a way out; she must have seen how awkward that was, Su Bei thought. His heart ward. He looked at Ji Nanjue and said, "I'll go outside..."
Just then, a faint sound of footsteps ca from not far away.
The sudden noise caused everyone's brows to furrow instantly. Su Bei asked with so confusion, "Who could it be, walking about at this late hour?"
