Faint starlight fell upon Li Zijun's face. Strands of her hair, soaked with droplets from the forehead, slid down to the hollow of her collarbone. Her wet clothes clung to her body, revealing her delicate and exquisite figure, which resembled a perfectly ripe fruit. Her jade-like arms bent lightly, displaying her graceful posture.
With her slender hands, she gently gathered her long, water-drenched hair behind her head. The water soaking her ruqun outlined her perfect figure, and she looked at Ji Nanjue with so embarrassnt.
The clothes she hadn't fully removed clung tightly to her tender body, faintly revealing the color of her skin beneath. Her usual loose-fitting ruqun concealed much, but now, her true "Mount Lu" was visible.
Ji Nanjue looked at her with obvious surprise, then a playful smile touched her lips. As expected of master and disciple, even your lies are cast from the sa mold...
"Forget it," Ji Nanjue said aloud. "If you want to call 'Sister,' then go ahead. 'Master's wife' does sound rather old-fashioned."
Li Zijun's jade-like legs, hidden beneath the water, gently stirred the surface, creating a few splashes.
Then, with a light push from her own jade-like arms, Ji Nanjue stood up, completely bare. The water barely reached the tops of her thighs, revealing her slender, flat waist, devoid of any excess flesh.
"Take off your clothes," Ji Nanjue said. "You can't very well bathe with them on, can you?"
This ruqun had accompanied Li Zijun on her journey for who knew how long, though it bore no stains.
Li Zijun shyly removed her dress and placed it on the bank, then quickly sat down in the pool, concealing herself thoroughly.
Ji Nanjue didn't laugh at her; she sat down beside Li Zijun.
The air was sowhat heavy; the period before rain always felt particularly oppressive.
Ji Nanjue's small hands gently scooped up water, letting it sprinkle down, as she suddenly said, "You've only t him a few tis. Are you already so sure of your feelings?"
"It's normal for soone your age to admire soone, but from your words and actions, you don't seem like an impulsive person."
"I'm quite curious. Can you tell what's on your mind?"
She paused, feeling her question was indeed a bit intrusive. Ji Nanjue then added with a smile, "Of course, it's alright if you don't want to talk about it..."
As she spoke, her eyes rested on Li Zijun.
"Thoughts?" Li Zijun gently pursed her thin lips. Without looking at Ji Nanjue, she murmured softly.
Gazing at the sowhat dim pool water, she pondered for a mont and said faintly, "Does liking soone necessarily require thoughts?"
"Isn't it that at a certain mont, because of sothing that deeply touches your heart, you find that person unknowingly residing there?"
"Perhaps it's just a glance, or a single action."
Ji Nanjue was taken aback. Li Zijun's voice sounded sowhat dejected; though her tone was gentle, Ji Nanjue could sohow discern a great deal of frustration in it.
Then Ji Nanjue pulled Li Zijun tightly into her embrace, pressing her cheek against Li Zijun's. "Love at first sight?"
Perhaps I would have scoffed at this phrase before, dismissing it as nonsense. Two people confirming their feelings after just one look? There could only be one explanation: lusting after the other's beauty. Yet now, my heart was gradually coming to accept this phrase. My life path and Su Bei's always seed to intertwine inadvertently. That ti we returned from the brink of death, the bond forged between us through shared adversity was naturally profound. Perhaps even before that night, his image had already been imprinted on my heart, only my long-sealed heart had never admitted it.
"That makes sense too," Ji Nanjue said.
Li Zijun gave a wry smile. It seems she misunderstood . My feelings for Su Bei were hardly as understated as my description implied. It took nearly a century of evolving together for to be sure of my heart.
"Sister Nan Ji, I'm feeling a bit cold..." Li Zijun said, hugging her arms lightly and blinking as she looked at Ji Nanjue.
"Go on back then," Ji Nanjue replied. "Mas... Sister will stay here alone for a bit."
Ji Nanjue smiled gently at Li Zijun, her heart feeling sowhat complex.
Ultimately, I am a woman. Even though I know Su Bei and I can never make our relationship public, I still feel a sense of aversion towards any woman who tries to take even a sliver of his tenderness away from . What's more, this woman is his disciple... It feels highly improper, both emotionally and rationally. A peculiar thought surfaced in my mind: he has his disciple, and he is my master... with caught in the middle? What a complicated relationship... like three generations under one roof, is it? It's all Su Dudu's fault. There's no right or wrong in matters of the heart. But if soone must be blad, the root cause is that philandering scoundrel! If he hadn't been flirting around and leaving a trail of affection everywhere, how could he have racked up so many emotional debts out of thin air? He certainly had his fun...
Li Zijun waved her hand a few tis in front of Ji Nanjue. Ji Nanjue snapped back to her senses, lightly tapped Li Zijun's delicate nose, and said with a smile, "You've worn that dress of yours for too long. If you don't mind, wear this one of Sister's for now."
Her hand pointed towards the white gauze dress on the shore.
Li Zijun blinked and then gave Ji Nanjue a sweet smile.
With a soft RUSTLE, she put on the dress and headed towards the Daoist Temple.
Ji Nanjue watched Li Zijun's receding figure and sighed softly.
