The faint starlight dimly illuminated Li Zijun’s visage, droplets of water clinging to the strands of hair on her forehead, trickling down to the hollow of her collarbone.

After getting wet, the garnt clung to her body, making her delicate and exquisite figure seem almost bare, her jade-like arms gently bent, her captivating allure on full display.

With a gentle touch, her fair hands gathered her water-soaked hair behind her head. The water drenched her ruqun, outlining her perfect figure as she bashfully looked at Ji Nanjue.

The garnts she hadn’t fully removed clung tightly to her delicate body, becoming faintly translucent and revealing hints of her skin. Her usual loose-fitting ruqun concealed much; only now could one glimpse her true form.

Ji Nanjue looked at her with obvious astonishnt, then a playful smile touched her lips as she said,

"HEHE."

"No wonder you’re master and Disciple; even your lies are carved from the sa mold."

"Forget it. If you want to call ’Sister,’ then do so. ’Mada’ actually sounds quite old-fashioned."

Beneath the water’s surface, Li Zijun’s jade-like legs gently stirred, sending a few splashes across the water.

Then, Ji Nanjue, with a gentle push of her arms, stood up, completely unadorned. The water barely reached the tops of her thighs, revealing half of her slender waist—slim, flat, and without an ounce of excess flesh.

"Take off your clothes. You can’t bathe with them on, can you?"

On their journey, this one ruqun had been with Li Zijun for who knows how long, though it bore no stains.

Li Zijun shyly removed the dress, placed it on the shore, and then imdiately sat down in the pool, thoroughly hiding herself.

Ji Nanjue didn’t laugh at her but sat down beside her.

The air was sowhat oppressive; the ti before rain always felt exceptionally restless.

Ji Nanjue’s small hand gently scooped up so water, letting it trickle down from her fingers. She suddenly spoke,

"You’ve only seen him a few tis. How can you be so certain of your feelings?"

"At your age, it’s normal to yearn for soone, but from your words and actions, you don’t seem like an impulsive person."

"I am quite curious. Can you share what’s on your mind?"

After pausing, feeling that her question was indeed a bit tricky, Ji Nanjue added with a smile,

"Of course, it’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it."

As she spoke, her eyes remained on Li Zijun.

"My thoughts?" Li Zijun lightly pursed her thin lips. She didn’t look at Ji Nanjue, just gazed into the sowhat murky water. After pondering for a mont, she murmured, "Does liking soone necessarily require thought?"

"Isn’t it that at a certain mont, because of sothing that deeply stirs the heart, soone unconsciously cos to occupy one’s mind?"

"Perhaps it’s just a glance, or a re action."

Ji Nanjue was montarily stunned. Listening to Li Zijun’s voice, which seed tinged with sadness, she found that despite its gentle tone, she could sohow detect a great deal of underlying frustration in her words.

Then Ji Nanjue wrapped her arms tightly around Li Zijun, pressing her cheek against hers.

"Love at first sight?"

Perhaps previously, I would have sneered at this concept, regarding it as nonsense. Just a glance exchanged between two people, and they’re convinced of their feelings for each other? That could only an one thing: they must be coveting each other’s looks. But now, my heart was gradually accepting this idea. My own life path with Su Bei always seed to align unwittingly. The emotional depth we shared after that ti we returned from the brink of death was naturally incredibly profound. Perhaps even before that night, his image had already been etched into my heart; it was just that my long-sealed heart had never admitted it.

"That’s true, I suppose." Li Zijun gave a wry smile. It seems she misunderstood . My feelings for Su Bei... how could they be as simple as I just described? It took nearly a century of evolving feelings before I was certain of my own heart.

"Sister Nan Ji, Zi Jun is getting cold." She hugged her arms gently, blinking as she looked at Ji Nanjue.

"You should head back then," Ji Nanjue said. "Your Shiniang... no, this Sister, will stay alone for a bit."

Ji Nanjue smiled warmly at her, though her heart felt a touch of complexity.

After all, I am a woman. Although I know Su Bei and I could never have our relationship publicly acknowledged, I still feel averse to any woman who wants to take away even a share of his affection from . Moreover, this woman is his Disciple... Ethically and emotionally, it all feels quite outrageous. A sowhat bizarre thought surfaced in my mind: his Disciple, my Shizun... with caught in between? What a complex relationship... like three generations under one roof, isn’t it? It’s all Su Dudu’s fault! There’s no right or wrong in matters of the heart. But if anything is at fault, the root cause is that philandering Su Dudu! If he hadn’t spread his affection everywhere and flirted around, how could he have incurred so many emotional debts? He’s certainly had his fun...

Li Zijun waved her hand in front of Ji Nanjue’s face a few tis, bringing her back to her senses. Ji Nanjue playfully tapped Li Zijun’s delicate nose and said with a smile,

"You’ve worn that dress of yours for too long. If you don’t mind, wear this one of Sister’s for now."

She then pointed towards the white gauze dress on the shore.

Li Zijun blinked, then gave Ji Nanjue a sweet smile.

Rustling softly, she put on the dress and walked towards the Daoist Temple.

Ji Nanjue watched Li Zijun’s retreating figure and sighed softly.
