Su Bei lifted his head to look at the sky. Perhaps because he had risen too late, the sun had already begun its gentle descent, its light casting across their faces.

After leaving the mountain range that stretched for several hundred miles, an expanse of lush greenery and boundless, tall trees ca into view. Though the trees were varied, they grew in an orderly fashion, leaving a clear imperial road for travelers. On both sides of this road grew sumr irises, their fragrance pervading the air. The warm sumr breeze was gradually intoxicating.

In May, the sumr irises blood and did not fall.

Travelers gradually beca more nurous.

Li Zijun gently brushed aside the bangs scattered by the wind, and the trees and this sea of flowers appeared before her eyes. At a glance, the trees were fully dotted with delicate, light red blossoms; carried by the gentle breeze, they drifted down, stirring their sweet fragrance.

A shower of falling red petals danced in the air.

"ACHOO..."

While Su Bei was imrsed in the fairy-like scenery, Ji Nanjue, whose small hand he was holding tightly, suddenly shuddered.

"ACHOO."

Ji Nanjue stretched out her delicate hand, using her sleeve to cover her mouth and nose, her dark brows furrowing slightly as she said, "Such heavy pollen."

Su Bei raised an eyebrow, hesitated for a mont, and then said, "Ji Baoer, you’re not allergic to pollen, are you?"

Cultivation was truly strange. Cultivators couldn’t resist laxatives or aphrodisiacs, and now, it seed, they couldn’t even resist allergies!?

Ji Nanjue shot Su Bei a look that was half-amused, half-annoyed. She then pinched the soft flesh on his waist with two fingers, her phoenix brows shooting up as she retorted, "It’s not pollen I’m allergic to; it’s peach blossoms..."

"ACHOO."

Li Zijun blinked, her eyes full of curiosity as she surveyed their surroundings. Sure enough, among the clusters of trees, she spotted a few peach trees still adorned with vibrant pink blossoms. She tilted her head and said softly, "This place is really strange. At this ti of year, where do these peach blossoms co from?"

With a wave of Su Bei’s large hand, his sword flew from its sheath and, in a swift motion, knocked all the blossoms off the nearby peach trees, sending them to the ground.

Instantly, a rain of pink petals filled the air.

"Damned peach blossoms."

"Are you happy now, Ji Baoer? Your husband has avenged you..."

Having said this, he looked at her with an expression as if coaxing a child, causing Ji Nanjue to roll her eyes at him.

Unexpectedly, right after Su Bei’s action, loud reprimands ca from a few travelers behind them, "Who are you people?"

"You must not disrespect the peach blossoms!"

Surprise flashed in Su Bei’s eyes, and he turned around to look back. After a mont of thought, he bowed to them with a friendly smile and said, "My na is Su Bei, traveling here with my wife, child, and disciple. Unaware of the local customs, my apologies, my apologies."

His white robes fluttered against a backdrop of vibrant pink, his figure as refined as jade. Beneath the shower of falling petals, he looked like a Banished Immortal, seemingly untouched by the mortal world. Several petals of sumr irises fell onto Su Bei’s white hair.

The young woman who had reprimanded them was captivated by the sight before her—Su Bei with his warm, spring-like smile. She froze, her heart skipping a beat. A blush crept up her neck, and she spoke, hesitant and shy, "Oh, so you are travelers from out of town. My apologies."

Su Bei was inwardly amused. He hadn’t expected his good looks to be such an effective pass. Allowing Ji Nanjue to continue pinching his back hard, he kept his smile and said, "Could this young lady explain to Su Mou why these peach blossoms do not fall?"

While speaking, he glanced over at the cart behind the young woman. A sowhat weak elderly man, his face pale, seed to be lying atop it. Two n were beside him, diligently caring for him.

Suddenly, Su Bei seed to perceive sothing. He then focused, carefully assessing the old man’s condition from a distance. His gaze t Ji Nanjue’s. She narrowed her eyes slightly, nodded at Su Bei, and whispered in his ear, "It’s Evil Qi."

The young woman, not noticing the subtle exchange between Su Bei and Ji Nanjue, simply continued, "If you pass through our Tao City and travel about forty miles further, you’ll find Peach Blossom Cove. It’s rumored that the Peach Blossom Fairy lives there. It’s said that if soone in Tao City falls ill, they need only go to Peach Blossom Cove to seek a bowl of Peach Blossom Spring to drink. After a few days, their health will gradually improve... Mm, I’ve heard from the older generations that this spectacle of ever-blooming peach blossoms has persisted in Tao City for hundreds of years. You can even see them in the depths of winter."

Su Bei’s expression flickered slightly. He looked at the young woman and asked, "The man lying on the cart, what relation is he to you, young lady, and what’s happened to him?"

The young woman turned, took out a towel, and gently wiped the elderly man’s forehead. Turning back, she sighed and said, "He’s my grandfather. A few days ago, many people in our village seed to contract cholera all in one day."

Su Bei hesitated for a mont, then stepped forward and offered, "May I take a look? Before my travels, I studied dical arts under my master for several years. Perhaps I might have a way..."

A flicker of hopeful surprise lit up the young woman’s eyes. She quickly said, "Then we are deeply grateful, sir. Ah Sheng, Ah Mao, step aside and let this gentleman take a look at grandfather."

Perhaps influenced by Su Bei’s deanor, the woman did not hesitate at all. The two robust n also hurriedly got off the cart, looking at Su Bei with anticipation.
