Does the Sword Sect have peach blossoms?

Su Bei frowned, eyeing Dan Wulan suspiciously.

He didn’t understand why his always silent and aloof junior sister, who stood quietly behind him, would ask such a baffling question.

But knowing her as I do, there must be so deeper aning to her words, he thought.

Xiao Ruoching, who had been idly counting the stars, suddenly seed to think of sothing. Her eyes paused, and her ears perked up instantly. Glancing out of the corner of her eye at Ninth Uncle’s slender, jade-like legs, she crossed her own as if pretending to cultivate.

Her small hand couldn’t help but idly draw circles on the thin layer of snow before her.

Seeing Su Bei’s confused, furrowed brow, a fleeting shadow of sadness crossed Dan Wulan’s heart.

But she quickly cast such distracting thoughts aside.

Senior Brother even rembered how I once begged him to shake peach blossoms for . How could he not understand the deeper aning of my words?

It was with unprecedented courage that she had spoken, so Dan Wulan held a trace of hope in her heart. On this beautiful moonlit night, she awaited Su Bei’s answer.

Su Bei pondered carefully, ticulously recalling the hundred-mile cherry blossom forest outside the Sword Sect’s White Jade Mountain Gate.

It really is all cherry blossoms, isn’t it? Where would the Sword Sect even get peach blossoms?

When he looked up again, hoping for clarification, his heart skipped a beat, as if he had witnessed the most beautiful scene in the world.

Moonlight spilled onto Dan Wulan’s face, making it seem to shimr like water. Her three thousand strands of white hair were gathered behind her, cascading like snow over his blood-stained Crane Cloak.

He had never seen Ninth Junior Sister like this.

In my mind, this woman has always lived up to her na, Wulan—still water, no ripples—facing everyone with a cold deanor, her composure absolute. Why are her eyes suddenly misty when she looks at ? Could it be that her affection for skyrocketed after I saved her?

Su Bei swallowed, an indescribable surge of secret delight welling up within him.

How should I describe this feeling? It’s like if Mai Sakurajima suddenly appeared before you and said, "Hey, rascal... you’re really so kind!" That exhilarating rush of suddenly gaining the favor of a cool, aloof beauty—it’s simply beyond words!

"Peach blossoms? Why would Junior Sister suddenly ask that?" Su Bei suppressed his pounding heart and asked tentatively.

Hearing Su Bei’s ambiguous response, Dan Wulan pursed her lips and turned away without a word.

The disappointnt in her heart, the sharp pang of unt expectations, was impossible to hide.

So, Senior Brother truly doesn’t have any special feelings for ? Is he just naturally gentle with everyone? Or has he pushed the question back to , leaving to figure it out?

Falling snow. A purple garnt. The Crane Cloak.

A Longsword. An ancient tree. A retreating silhouette.

Su Bei’s brow twitched as he watched his Junior Sister turn her back to him without a word.

For so reason, a sense of desolation washed over him.

Xiao Ruoching, who had been anxiously holding her breath, finally let out a sigh of relief. She felt the Sword Scripture within her circulate even faster.

But her earlier suspicions were now confird.

Ninth Uncle is in love with Master! And it’s definitely not just because of that one sword strike from Master. When could it have started? Didn’t Ninth Uncle warn to stay away from Master before? Could she have been deliberately sowing discord, afraid that Master and I getting too close would ruin her little plans? And I actually thought she’d noticed sothing unusual about Master!

A pleasant curve touched Xiao Ruoching’s lips, and an undeniable flicker of joy sparked in her heart.

Ninth Uncle is really overthinking things. How could I possibly have feelings for the enemy beside ? I barely have ti to think about how to kill him, let alone develop feelings for him—that’s hilarious! And she even gave five Spiritual Pearls for my Foundation Establishnt! What’s that saying again? Ah, yes: "She lost the lady and forfeited the troops!"

Just as Xiao Ruoching was smiling to herself, her hand warming the snow on the ground and letting the ltwater drip onto her skirt hem, she suddenly heard her Master sigh.

Then, a gentle voice drifted softly on the wind, like the snowlt from her fingertips dripping slowly down.

Su Bei began, "The Sword Sect... does not have peach blossoms."

His voice softened as he continued, "However, if Junior Sister wishes to see them..."

He then added, a new warmth in his tone, "I could plant an entire grove of peach trees for you on No-Sword Peak..."

The world seed to fall silent.

The smile on Xiao Ruoching’s lips instantly froze.

Her heart seed to stop for a mont. Her gaze fixed blankly on her small hand, then on the crackling, popping campfire before her.

The firelight flickered across her suddenly pale face.

After speaking, Su Bei watched Dan Wulan for her reaction.

My previous answer was too blunt, too clueless, he thought. Fortunately, I’ve read enough books. I hope this can salvage the goodwill I was just starting to build with Ninth Junior Sister.

Then he saw the silhouette before him tremble slightly before falling still and silent.

On the side Su Bei couldn’t see, tears suddenly stread, unrestrained, from the corners of Dan Wulan’s eyes.

It was as if all her recent doubts had vanished in an instant. The stone in her heart had finally settled, and from it, a flower blood.

Senior Brother is still the Senior Brother I know! He’s the one I like... This feeling is from the bottom of my heart; it’s pure...

Silence descended.

The three of them sat quietly, each lost in their own thoughts, nursing their own secrets.

Su Bei glanced left, then right, and lightly scratched his back.
