Walking along the flowing blood, Bai Qinghan gradually arrived at the center of the Imperial Court.
Theoretically speaking, this journey would be quite difficult.
The Mysterious Heavenly Palace is enormous, its interior a standalone Cave Heaven, with layers of folded ti and space. Intricate and profound Arrays construct the largest labyrinth in the Embracing the Void Realm, with each generation of Emperors adding to it according to their own preferences, and the next Emperor building upon that foundation.
Even Lingxiao, upon entering the Mysterious Heavenly Palace, would be suppressed by the accumulated weight of the Da Chen dynasty over generations.
At its peak, with just a word, the Mysterious Heaven Imperial Lord could fundantally alter the Law of the Divine Capital Domain, akin to the Heavenly Dao.
Even at the Lingxiao Peak of Refining Nine Heavens, one would prefer not to battle within the Mysterious Heavenly Palace’s influence range against Da Chen’s Lingxiao; the opponent has opened up, why bother fighting locally with Earthbound Spirits?
However, this is only against foreign enemies.
Facing internal enemies, all this becos completely ineffective.
Bai Qinghan encountered no suppression along the way.
All the Magic Prohibitions and Formations encountered were rendered powerless under the Emperor’s Blood authority granted to her by You Ruhui, even becoming her aid, allowing her to swiftly cross complex passage structures through transmission.
Indeed, You Ruhui is actually the Late Emperor’s daughter; in a sense, this counts as a kind of ’binding by profundity’.
And along the way, she saw many corpses.
So of palace maids, so of ministers, and others from the Forbidden Army.
Most of these bodies were emaciated, akin to mummified corpses, with expressions of extre terror, as if they hadn’t expected to die at all.
Apart from these, there were many strange corpses of monsters seemingly made of gnarled tree roots.
These monsters had blood-red branches and roots; though dead, the leaves winding around them were hearty and lush, like cacti, having apparently absorbed plenty of fresh blood.
Through the mories of those palace maids absorbed by her, Bai Qinghan learned what had occurred within the Mysterious Heavenly Palace.
The mont An Jing descended upon Shenjing, the Mysterious Heavenly Palace fell into a state of self-seclusion.
This was both a protection and a confinent; most of the not-so-core Heavenly Officials, along with a majority of those with Dragon Energy Authority—attendant palace maids, and many possessing Emperor’s Blood—were ’protected’ within the Mysterious Heavenly Palace.
The Mysterious Heavenly Palace was indeed much safer than outside. In fact, without its protection, most would have turned to ash the mont An Jing and Yin Gujin clashed.
But this did not an those protected by the Mysterious Heavenly Palace were fortunate.
In fact, they were better off having died at An Jing’s hands, turning to ash.
Because the ’Mysterious Heavenly Palace’ itself began its slaughter.
Monsters made of strange tree roots appeared without warning or location.
They could not communicate; they began slaughtering everyone inside the Mysterious Heavenly Palace right from the start.
These monsters did not possess any special abilities, just imnse strength and bodies as hard as steel. Theoretically, not to ntion those with Divine Abnormality and Emperor’s Blood, even palace maids with Heavenly Official Talismans could easily crush these monsters.
However, Heavenly Official Talismans proved ineffective against these monsters.
Nothing worked, no skill would manifest; Divine Abnormality of Emperor’s Blood was suppressed to an extrely low point. Facing these monsters, all Heavenly Officials and Emperor’s Blood turned into ordinary people, captured, held, and drained of blood to the death.
Only those Heavenly Officials who regularly practiced Martial Arts and so Emperor’s Blood could resist these monsters and counter-kill a portion.
But even so, facing the endlessly multiplying monsters, their defenses retreated again and again, retreating to the center of the Imperial Court, which is now within the Profound Heaven Hall.
Exactly where Bai Qinghan currently stood.
With a thought, the gates opened.
From the gaps in the doors, the blood flowed more fiercely.
The hall was piled full of corpses.
Thousands, even more, were stacked within this once-majestic hall, with most being palace maids and so guards. Their corpses were mangled, faces twisted with hatred even in death, showing how much resentnt they held.
No matter how hateful, they’re dead; those who survived are very few.
And in the center of the hall, a temporary setup built from various expensive Spiritual Materials, not inherently part of the Mysterious Heavenly Palace, lay an Array; inside its center stood dozens with the surna ’Xuan’, their Emperor’s Blood watchful and cautious.
These Emperor’s Blood varied in age but were mostly young, clad in luxurious robes, while facing them opposed stood a group of Heavenly Officials.
These Heavenly Officials were confronting these Xuan Family Emperor’s Blood; between them was a cluster of radiant golden strange Yuan Qi, intertwining with three layers of Spiritual Fiends—pale gold, bright gold, and dark gold—forming a complex talisman, its very presence twisting ti and space, exhibiting an anomalous curvature to the surrounding Great Void.
Centered around this Yuan Qi Talisman, their tension escalated; previously they were likely trading insults, but just now, all sound ceased, readying to transform words into action.
Not surprising.
In those palace maids’ mories lay this ominous sign—the tree root monsters were pursuing the Emperor’s Blood and Heavenly Officials, but specifically their ’Dragon Energy Authority’, the talismans imprinted into their flesh, the power flowing in their veins.
With the Mysterious Heavenly Palace sealed, no one could escape there, yet despite this, so Emperor’s Blood detected vulnerabilities—the Mysterious Heavenly Palace, although flawless as a Cave Heaven, required interaction both internally and externally. They could exploit so holes, constructing Void Arrays for transmission out.
Though the outco of transmitting out was uncertain, it presented an alternative to capture and drain by the monsters... yet the problem arose.
Where to find materials?
The Mysterious Heavenly Palace possessed no shortage of Spiritual Materials; dismantling so decorations could easily assemble an Array eting necessary requirents, but the core of the Array required ’authority’... soone had to offer their Emperor’s Blood or Dragon Qi Talisman as the Formation Base for the transmission Array.
Sacrifice, sacrifice... soone had to face slaughter or willingly give themselves for others to survive.
Thus, the result beca self-evident.
The palace maids and attendants were the first slaughtered by the combined efforts of Emperor’s Blood and Heavenly Officials; their authority far surpassed the lower individuals, naturally wielding the power to give or take life—their slaughter mingled with the monsters’, perating the Mysterious Heavenly Palace with bloodstains.
But then sothing awkward occurred.
Insufficient.
The palace maids and attendants held low authority; even after many were killed, the gathered authority wasn’t enough to activate the escape talisman.
Consequently, either the Heavenly Officials or Emperor’s Blood had to make ’sacrifices’ among themselves.
No one willingly wished to sacrifice.
