There was nothing left to do at Night Raid's base.

Blayn, Kuro, and Esdeath were preparing to return to their own base, the Akatsuki Organization.

Just as they were about to set off, Aka suddenly raised her hand and said, “I want to go back with Kuro as well. I won’t interfere when you deal with Pri Minister Honest.”

She emphasized the latter part because Blayn had stated that the Akatsuki Organization would handle Honest on their own.

“That’s totally fine,” Blayn agreed without hesitation.

It didn’t affect him in any way, and Kuro would certainly be happy about it.

“I want to go too,” Mine said.

Noticing Blayn’s puzzled look, Mine suddenly felt a little embarrassed. With so many people watching, she couldn’t bring herself to say the real reason, so she ca up with an excuse.

“B-Because Seryu looked after before, I want to properly thank her.”

Esdeath, perceptive as ever, imdiately picked up on Mine’s lie and suspected that her real reason had to do with Blayn.

However, she didn’t call her out on it—there was no solid proof, after all.

Even if Mine really did have feelings for Blayn, Esdeath wasn’t worried.

Though she had lost to Blayn in battle, her confidence in her own strength remained unshaken. To her, power was far more important than charm—though she seed unaware that her charm alone was enough to captivate countless people.

“That sounds interesting. I’d like to tag along too.”

Compared to Mine, Chelsea spoke in a much more natural and casual manner.

“Well, if Blayn doesn’t mind, then go ahead,” Najenda said.

She had no objections to temporarily losing three mbers, as there were no urgent missions at the mont.

...

And so, they all made their way back to the Akatsuki Organization’s base.

For Aka, Kuro, and Mine, this wasn’t their first ti visiting the Akatsuki base.

However, Esdeath’s arrival caused quite a stir among its mbers.

The feared General Esdeath had suddenly beco their ally—it was a shocking developnt.

Only after Blayn explained the situation in detail did everyone finally calm down.

He also briefed them on the Revolutionary Army.

“Take the next two days to rest. After that, we’ll officially launch our offensive against Honest’s regi,” Blayn announced. “Our battle plan will be a combination of steady tactics and blitzkrieg—quickly toppling Honest’s governnt while avoiding reckless haste.”

Though “cautious advance” and “blitzkrieg” seed contradictory, it wasn’t difficult to balance the two.

For instance, Blayn and Esdeath would take on the toughest opponents, while the rest of the enemies would be dealt with by the other mbers one by one.

With the Akatsuki Organization’s current strength, this strategy was more than feasible.

During the two-day break, Blayn focused on letting his body recover while refining the battle plan.

He carefully decided which enemies to eliminate first, using both his own intelligence and the information provided by Esdeath.

The most noteworthy threats were the mysterious Teigu possessed by Pri Minister Honest and the "Supre Teigu" wielded by the young Emperor.

“The Emperor holds the ‘Supre Teigu,’ also known as the ‘Strongest Teigu.’ It has been passed down through the royal family for generations, but there are hardly any records about it, so I don’t know much either,” Esdeath said. “But… even if it truly is the strongest Teigu, I’m confident I can suppress it.”

“Then we’ll leave the young Emperor and Honest for last and deal with the other targets first,” Blayn decided.

“By the way, those four Teigu users we talked about earlier should have arrived by now. Should we go and have so fun with them?” Esdeath suggested, recalling the Jaegers.

“Alright, let’s see what kind of people they are,” Blayn nodded slightly.

...

Wave, a forr Imperial Navy officer, wielded the Teigu Carnage Incarnate: Grand Chariot.

Run, once a teacher in a rural village, possessed the Teigu Thousand-Mile Flight: Mostima.

Dr. Stylish, a well-known scientist, carried the Teigu Glorious Hands of God: Perfector.

Bols, from the Empire’s Incineration Troops, used the Teigu Purgatory’s Invitation: Rubicante.

These four ford the Jaegers.

Blayn had already reviewed their basic information from Esdeath’s list, and now, he was eting them in person.

Wave was a cheerful-looking young man with blue hair and slightly tanned skin. His attire made it obvious that he was a “country bumpkin,” and he was carrying a large sack of seafood.

Run was a tall and handso young man with a slender build, wearing an ornant resembling a feather on his left ear.

Dr. Stylish, true to his na, wore a white lab coat and glasses, giving off a distinct scientist vibe.

Bols had the most unusual appearance—he wore a strange mask and was shirtless, exposing his muscular physique.

“Blayn, lend your mask for a bit. I want to have so fun with them first,” Esdeath suddenly said.

Since Blayn and Esdeath had entered through the back entrance, the four Jaegers hadn’t noticed them yet.

Blayn had no reason to refuse, so he casually handed Esdeath his white mask. There were no side effects from soone else wearing it, though, naturally, the full attribute bonuses wouldn’t apply.

Taking the mask, Esdeath put it on and imdiately launched an attack on the four Jaegers.

Caught off guard, Wave and the others instinctively assud an enemy was ambushing them.

Simply wearing a mask was enough to prevent them from recognizing Esdeath.

“Who are you?!” Wave demanded warily.

Esdeath didn’t respond—she just sent him flying with a powerful side kick.

Then, she turned to the other three and engaged them as well.

Of course, she wasn’t fighting seriously. Once she felt satisfied, she stopped.

Even so, her sudden assault left a lasting impression on the four Jaegers, overwhelming them with her sheer presence.

Only when Esdeath removed the mask did they finally recognize her.

“General Esdeath?!” Bols was the first to exclaim.

General Esdeath?

Wasn’t she their commander?

Still lying on the ground, Wave was stunned. Even their own commander was acting completely unpredictably.

“Did that little surprise scare you? I thought a normal greeting would be too dull, so I went with sothing a bit more exciting,” Esdeath said casually.

Then, she handed the white mask back to Blayn.

“By the way, let introduce you—this man is also your superior. His orders take precedence over mine.”
