The Three Beasts were temporarily resting at Esdeath’s mansion.

Seizing the opportunity, Nyau sidled up to Blayn. “Lord Blayn, is it okay if I call you that?”

“You can just call Blayn. No need for the extra title,” Blayn replied.

“No way! If I show disrespect to Lord Blayn, Lady Esdeath definitely won’t let off easily.” Nyau shook his head firmly.

Blayn had nothing to say to that. “Fine, suit yourself.”

“I don’t really understand why Lady Esdeath is so obsessed with you, Lord Blayn, but now that I take a closer look, you are quite handso. Maybe that’s the reason?”

Nyau had moved in so close that their face was nearly touching Blayn’s.

Unaware that Nyau, despite his feminine appearance and attire, was actually a boy, Blayn instinctively leaned his neck back slightly.

“Speaking of which, Lord Blayn, since you’re staying at Lady Esdeath’s house, does that an you’re already living together?” Nyau asked curiously.

He was surprised by how quickly things had progressed between them. He rembered that Lady Esdeath had only realized her feelings during the Northern Tribes campaign, and she had just returned to the Imperial Capital yesterday...

Yet today, they were already living together. It was even possible that last night they had...

At that mont, Liver coughed lightly and reminded Nyau, “Nyau, don’t be rude to Lord Blayn.”

“Yes~”

Only then did Nyau step back, flashing a playful grin.

“Good thing you’re not actually a girl. Otherwise, with what you just did, Lady Esdeath would’ve definitely tortured you for answers,” Liver remarked flatly.

Blayn imdiately sensed sothing was off.

“Wait... Did you just say he’s not a girl?”

“That’s right, Lord Blayn. Nyau is actually a boy, though he dresses like a girl,” Liver confird respectfully.

“Don’t let his cute looks fool you—he’s got so twisted hobbies. He enjoys peeling off the faces of beautiful won and collecting them,” Daidara said with a chuckle.

“You’re not any better. All you ever think about is killing,” Nyau shot back, rolling his eyes.

“That’s because those are ‘experience points’! I need ‘experience points’ to level up!” Daidara emphasized.

Blayn fell silent. He had no interest in engaging with these two lunatics.

...

After resting up, the Three Beasts prepared to set out for their next mission.

“Lord Blayn, we’re off for another job. See you later,” Nyau said cheerfully as he waved goodbye.

Blayn nodded. “Seems like Minister Honest is making more moves. You all look pretty busy.”

“That’s right. There are still so officials in court who are thorns in the Pri Minister’s side. He wants them to disappear,” Liver replied almost without hesitation.

Because of Esdeath, he had no reason to be wary of Blayn. After all, Blayn was already living with Lady Esdeath—there was no way he could be a spy.

To the Three Beasts, Blayn held a status above their own, second only to Lady Esdeath. That ant his words carried nearly absolute authority.

“I see...”

Blayn was now certain of his suspicions.

The officials being eliminated by the Three Beasts were indeed part of the Conscience Faction. But why fra Night Raid for it afterward?

Could this be connected to General Budo?

After all, it was General Budo who had been sheltering those very officials.

Minister Honest didn’t want to openly break ties with General Budo, so he resorted to underhanded tactics—having the Three Beasts secretly assassinate the Conscience Faction’s officials and then pinning the bla on Night Raid. That way, General Budo would be forced into an all-out conflict with them...

This scenario played out perfectly in Minister Honest’s favor. Both General Budo and Night Raid were major threats to him, and having them destroy each other was the most advantageous outco.

Blayn had essentially pieced together the entire sche.

Once the Three Beasts had left, Blayn found himself unable to sit still.

“Blayn, about this afternoon…”

Esdeath brought up the matter of hunting Danger Beasts again.

But Blayn, looking unusually serious, interrupted her. “Esdeath, there’s sothing I need to make clear to you first.”

“What’s with the serious tone? Aren’t we lovers? Just say whatever’s on your mind.” Esdeath smiled.

Blayn gave a slight nod and got straight to the point. “I’ve taken control of the Empire’s assassination unit and established a new organization.”

“That’s good news, isn’t it? I’m sure you’ll manage it far better than soone like Cyou.” Esdeath replied.

“No… What I an is, the organization I created aims to change the Empire from within.”

Blayn stated bluntly, “It’s different from the Revolutionary Army, which seeks to overthrow the Empire outright. But from Honest’s perspective, both I and my organization are undoubtedly enemies of his regi.”

Esdeath was montarily surprised but didn’t react strongly. “I see… But that’s not a big deal. Just disband that organization and have everyone submit to .”

Blayn was caught off guard by how indifferent she seed.

Shaking his head, he rejected her proposal. “No, my ideals won’t change, and I won’t dissolve my organization. On the contrary, I hope you’ll join instead.”

At his words, Esdeath let out a soft chuckle. “I’m a general of the Empire, and you’re actually saying this to ?”

Her icy gaze flickered dangerously, as if daring him to push his words any further—one step more, and she might just make him pay for it.

“I know you won’t agree so easily,” Blayn sighed. “If only we weren’t on opposing sides, things would be perfect.”

“No rush. I’ll make you accept it in ti. Asking you to disband your organization so suddenly is indeed a bit much,” Esdeath said understandingly.

Even though Blayn had made his stance clear, she remained incredibly tolerant of him. The only reason was that he was her lover.

“I’ve said what I needed to say. For now, I have to leave, but I’ll be back.”

Blayn’s words made Esdeath’s eyes tremble slightly.

“Don’t go!”

She instinctively reached out, trying to grab his hand.

A sudden fear crept into her—what if he left and never returned? Given the conversation they had just had, this mont felt eerily like two people parting ways forever due to irreconcilable beliefs.
