The carriage was prepared and the two individuals who would be travelling back to the Academy were getting ready to depart.
Sitting in her room, Alatia was being helped by her butler to get her hair done while she happily sat in front of the mirror.
Kyle was braiding her hair as he asked, "Are you sure it would be appropriate to leave now? Things have beco quite complicated yesterday."
Kyle couldn't help but feel a little troubled in his heart. Yesterday, after he picked the Pearl of Resurrection, the first one to fly into rage was the Pri Minister. The greatest treasure of the Empire was at stake after all.
However, the Emperor didn't say anything—for so unknown reason—nor did the first Prince. As such, it was settled that along with the legendary armour, Kyle would be allowed to take the Droplet as well.
In the palace, the news has travelled that Kyle has taken an invaluable item, which was of national importance. As such, the animosity against him from the officials has elevated.
"You are thinking about this a lot. We shouldn't care about others' sentints; we should care only about each other's opinions, and from my perspective, you did the right thing." Alatia spoke those words with utmost certainty since not even once had she thought anything less than the Droplet to be worthy of Kyle.
From that mont, when her teacher (the Sage) warned Alatia about the future Kyle might have to face, the Princess decided to sohow get Kyle this artefact. And finally, now, she has succeeded.
*Knock*
Hearing the knock, Kyle allowed Alatia's beautiful braided hair to fall down her shoulder, before he went to open the door.
Outside, the two Empresses stood with a soft smile on their faces.
"Can we talk to Tia for a mont?"
Kyle didn't think twice before bowing his head and excusing himself.
Nora stepped in, followed by Sophia, as they saw their daughter sitting near the dressing mirror while looking nothing less than a beautiful doll.
Their heart lted at how adorable she looked as the two ladies advanced toward her and praised the girl, "Indeed you have beco quite pretty in these few months." Nora spoke with fondness leaking in her tone.
Alatia didn't show wariness towards her mothers since they always treated Kyle well and they never had any role in the examination as well.
She smiled in contentnt and said, "Kyle takes good care of ."
Sophia giggled and said, "That...I could tell. That boy is so diligent in serving you that I sotis couldn't believe that he is the sa person who used to cry and complain all the ti around you."
Thinking about their past Alatia also chuckled. Alatia used to say pretty an and straightforward things, and at that ti, the proud son of the Count didn't like to be insulted at all. However, he couldn't do anything to Alatia as well, which only elevated his frustration, and in the end, Kyle often returned ho in tears.
The atmosphere beca harmonious as the group of three undeniably breathtaking beauties sat together and reminisced.
As the conversation mutually ca to a halt, Sophia uttered a question about which she was pondering for a while now,
"Tia...I understand that your bond with Kyle has strengthened in these months, but is it just friendship between you two?"
The question made Alatia slightly nervous. Maybe after hearing that Kyle and Alatia have already graduated from being just friends, her mothers might frown on letting Kyle be her attendant. After all, Alatia was a princess whose servant should surely not have any feelings for her other than servitude.
The best choice would have been to lie here, but,
"We like each other and have confird each other's feelings." Alatia, with her eyes fallen to her knees, confessed. She knew that her mothers would convey this to her father....but she didn't want to lie about her relationship with Kyle out of fear of being opposed.
She thought that the two ladies would try to convince her to let go of this relationship for her own good, but all Alatia heard was soft giggles from them—urging the youngest one in the room to look up at them. And as she just thought, they were smiling teasingly at her.
"As I thought, my daughter has a liking towards gentlen. That's why she waited for Kyle to change himself before falling for him."
"Right? He has beco both handso and mature now. No wonder my sweet little girl fell for his charms."
Alatia's face began to turn red as she stuttered, "W-What are you two saying?"
She expected a reaction, but not this one.
Sophia crouched to level her face with her daughter before embracing the little girl from behind and whispering sweetly, "We never were against your relationship with Kyle since having soone who understands you and cares for you, is the best partner we could have ever hoped for."
"Indeed. Kyle is not only well-mannered and soone who has grown up with you, but he very well understands you and guides you when needed. " Nora added.
"But mother, mom, Father will never agree." Her eyes trembled as she turned to look at them with a pleading face.
Truth be told, she knew that the two Empresses were helpless in this situation as well, and looking at their troubled expressions, she knew that expecting any support from them would be unfair to them.
However, she never expected that her mothers would break out of their shells and say, "We won't be able to convince our lord. However, we can surely delay your betrothal, right?"
Sophia nodded and said, "Yes, we can do that. In a few months, you would be sixteen, and at that ti, your father would urge you to get engaged. We would just not let that perfect match appear for a loooong ti."
Alatia looked at her mothers with a helpless smile with slight moisture accumulating in her eyes.
She couldn't believe how different their perception was toward Alatia's relationship with Kyle in comparison to her father and brothers.
Having their support made her feel like she had crossed a very big obstacle, and the weight from her shoulder had been lifted.
Holding their hands, Alatia got up before she wordlessly stepped forward and embraced the two ladies.
Nora and Sophia glanced at each other with a smile on their faces as they also hugged their daughter back.
So emotions cannot be expressed in words. And currently, Alatia was feeling such emotions.
She felt happy.
***********
Outside the room, Kyle smiled with his shoulders evidently relaxing.
It was then that he sensed a presence approaching.
"Your Highness." He greeted the first Prince with a slight bow of his head.
Edward stood before Kyle with his arms linked behind his back and no emotions evident on his face.
Once Kyle looked up, Edward asked, "I have always felt jealous of you. After all, even though I am her brother I never got to see her real side. She smiled only in front of you and that made feel like you are stealing away what should have been mine."
Kyle, for once, wanted to ask if the Prince was ntally stable. Which brother could have such intense feelings for his sister...but well, he was ranked as the number one sis-con in the novel, so this much was to be expected.
Remaining silent would make things awkward so Kyle spoke up, and this ti, he raised his head to look Edward in the eye, "Your Highness, perhaps you should see Alatia not as a delicate glass doll but as a responsible princess. I know you care for her deeply, but your overprotectiveness makes her feel as though she isn't trusted enough."
Those words were voiced out with all certainty since, at this point, no one knew Alatia better than Kyle.
Edward remained silent, but deep within, he noted every word that Kyle spoke and contemplated it deeply.
Suddenly, he turned away from Kyle, intending to leave, only to pause for a mont and speak in a heavier tone,
"Take care of her. If anything happens to Tia, I will be your death."
Kyle smiled helplessly as he uttered under his breath, "Tsundere until the end."
