Qiao Chuchu was gently placed on the bed by Pei Che.
Pei Che sat by the bedside, calmly gazing at her.
She recoiled, shifting away from him.
His eyes followed her unhurriedly, settling on her face.

His gaze dropped, lingering aningfully on her lips.

His Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice roughening: "But it won’t hurt you. You don’t need to worry."
Qiao Chuchu rolled her eyes: "...I don’t care about your secret. I just want to leave."
The heat in Pei Che’s eyes cooled: "Pei Fengnong must’ve made it clear earlier. If you forgive us, you can go."
Qiao Chuchu threw up her hands: "Fine, I forgive you! I won’t be angry anymore. Happy now?!"
Pei Che studied her.
She stared back, dead serious.

As his hands moved to unbuckle his belt—
Qiao Chuchu leapt up, smothering him with the blanket: "Are you insane?!"
Pei Che’s pants slid out from under the covers as his muffled voice ca through: "Keeping you here is real. Obeying you is real too."
"Anything to ease your anger—I’ll do it."
His head erged from the blanket, tilting up at her from the bed. His eyes held an almost dogged sincerity: "Punish however you like."
Speechless, she yanked the blanket tighter around him: "Just put your clothes back on!"
She jumped off the bed, pacing furiously by the window.
[I need to figure out how to deal with these lunatics.]
A shadow flickered past outside.
