Chapter 413: Chapter 318: One Voice is Enough

Ming Junting stood with his hands clasped behind his back, gazing into the distance at the battlefield over the Lake of Fire.

“The High Priest and the Legion Commander’s deaths must be known to Fentian Giant City by now,” Ming Junting mused. “If they react quickly, they could arrive at Jiu Chi City through the teleportation array, and it wouldn’t take long from there.”

Chen Xing erged from the Sìxiàng spirits and said to Ming Junting, “How could they possibly know?”

Ming Junting replied intently, “There’s a thod in the Exotic Region called the Life Worm. Each birth of these worms yields a pair—one male, one female. The Life Worms can sense each other; if one dies, the other feels a surge in its blood and its body color changes from red to blue.”

“Those of high status typically harbor one Life Worm within their bodies, while the other is kept in a significant place. If the person dies, the Life Worm dies too, and the other one senses its death. A force like Fentian Giant City will definitely have such ans.”

After listening to Ming Junting, Chen Xing wondered, “Does Great Xia also have Life Worms?”

“Yes, but only a few,” Ming Junting said lightly. “Life Worms are difficult to cultivate, so only a very few have them.”

At this point, he paused, “And not everyone likes the idea of harboring a Life Worm inside their body.”

Chen Xing pondered, realizing the Life Worm must have other uses as well.

A figure approached swiftly through the dense fog not far away.

“Lord Ming, the battle over there is almost over.”

When Chen Xing and Ming Junting arrived, the battle by the lake was already drawing to a close.

Unexpectedly, the Pale Embrace had gained the upper hand.

At the mont, it stood at the shoreline with countless roots extending from its body. The dense roots ford a massive net, dragging the creature from within the lake onto the shore.

This lake monster also had colossal size, in the shape of an octopus.

But its proportions were grossly exaggerated.

Its total length neared four hundred ters, with a head adorned in black and white patterns.

These black and white patterns criss-crossed on its head, forming a ghostly face.

The octopus was currently pinned down by the Pale Embrace, which was fiercely draining it.

A flicker of surprise crossed Chen Xing’s eyes; monts ago the situation was in reverse, and now it had turned.

It brought to mind the knowledge he had acquired at school.

Generally, a Beast Tad beast trained by a Beast Tar tended to be stronger than wild creatures in their class.

Because Beast Tars focus on training that compensates the beast’s weaknesses, enhancing their stamina, resilience, and skill technique among other facets.

Wild creatures, unless by so fluke, mostly do not specifically train these capabilities.

The current state of the Pale Embrace was not good either; its massive body was marked with pits and craters, and its formidable healing ability had yet to restore it.

This only ant that the Pale Embrace wasn’t in great shape either,

“Help ,” Ming Junting summoned the Sky-Swallowing Moon Serpent.

The Sky-Swallowing Moon Serpent quickly approached the Pale Embrace.

The Pale Embrace initially disregarded it, but as the small serpent drew closer, it suddenly opened its eyes, warningly watching the little snake.

Yet the serpent’s pace not only didn’t falter but seed to quicken.

A flicker of rage crossed the depths of the Pale Embrace’s eyes.

Though injured, it was not sothing any minor creature could provoke!

Its right foot stomped fiercely into the ground, its thick tree-like legs burrowing into the earth.

From where it stood as the center, an Earth Wave surged up instantly, breaking through like a tsunami. Broken earth chunks flung into the air, forming towering waves.

Amidst these surging waves, dense roots, sharp as arrows, mixed with the earth, all shooting towards the sky. Their target was the swiftly approaching Sky-Swallowing Moon Serpent.

The serpent’s hard scales sparked as they scraped.

Clangs of tal striking tal rang out.

The ghost-faced octopus behemoth lying nearby pretentiously weak, suddenly burst forth, breaking free from the Pale Embrace’s bind and leapt towards the lake.

In that instant, a dark shadow swept past.

The Ghost-Faced Octopus Behemoth found itself not falling into the lake as expected, but moving farther and farther away from the lake surface…

In the sky, the Suspended Island Sky Roc let out an excited cackle.

Its massive body grasped the Ghost-Faced Octopus Behemoth.

Thankful for nature’s bounty!

Compared to the body size of the Suspended Island Sky Roc, the Ghost-Faced Octopus Behemoth appeared particularly delicate.

Massive talons hooked, enveloping the Ghost-Faced Octopus Behemoth into its hollowed abdominal cavity, the grim ribcage arching like the notches of an arrow on either side.

A thick black fog wafted from within the abdominal cavity, the Ghost-Faced Octopus Behemoth letting out a dire screech.

It employed a Slowing Principle in its struggle, contesting against the Roc’s Corrosion Principle, but quickly fell into disadvantage.

In the contest of principles, how could it compare to a seasoned Ascender?

Even if this seasoned Ascender had fallen from grace, the proficiency in principle wielding was not sothing its opponent could match.

The Suspended Island Sky Roc was delightfully pleased at this mont.

It had braced for a fierce battle, even readying itself for injuries, but lo and behold, its master had called it out for a buffet!

A severely injured Transcendence Peak creature that had also comprehended principles was the perfect buffet.

After devouring this fellow, the wounds it had sustained at the Soul Butterfly should fully recover, but replenishing the origin source would likely still be insufficient.

Unless it could digest a prey of Ascension Level.

But considering its master’s growth rate, that day shouldn’t be far off!

With this thought, the Suspended Island Sky Roc cackled excitedly in glee.
