Chapter 328: Chapter 267: The Calamity Tribulation_2

Chen Xing felt a warmth in his heart and didn’t waste words.

Half an hour had passed, and the moon above in the sky had grown increasingly dim, nearly half-eclipsed.

Chen Xing couldn’t help but recall the evolution steps.

On the day of the lunar eclipse, he would dig open the space between his eyebrows, implant the Cangtian Thunder God Seed in the forehead, swallow the Titan’s Heart, blow the Calamity conch, carry the Domain Stele, and undergo the baptism of Calamity. Should he survive the ordeal of Calamity and ascend to the suspended heavens on the day of the eclipse, he would transform into the behemoth with the Sky Scar Eye.

The first step was to dig open the forehead.

Chen Xing took out his tools from the storage ring.

He summoned Taotie.

The behemoth descended into the valley, scattering countless snakes, rodents, and insects in its wake, while various scattered monsters also fled.

The valley was thus cleared.

Then, with the help of Sìxiàng, Chen Xing descended onto the forehead of Taotie and began chiseling.

Bit by bit, Taotie’s forehead was chiseled away, yet eerily, no blood flowed.

This was thanks to Chen Xing’s pet body correction ability, which could slightly alter the pet’s head shape to so extent without harming the essence.

Soon, a bowl-sized hole was chiseled open in the forehead.

Then Chen Xing took out the Cangtian Thunder God Seed and placed it into Taotie’s forehead.

Crackle, crackle, crackle~

Intense thunder light flickered, and Taotie grunted as it closed its eyes.

It felt a swelling in its forehead as if a landmine had been buried inside.

Next was the swallowing of the Titan’s Heart…

Chen Xing looked at the Titan’s Heart beside him and said to Qiu Shangqing, “Old Master Qiu, please help clean the Titan’s Heart.”

The Azure Sea Emperor Crocodile, stationed at the valley entrance, lifted its glances, and with a swipe of its claw, myriad water columns surged from the void, shearing along the surface of the Titan’s Heart, cutting away large amounts of mud, sand, and stones adhered to its surface.

Eventually, the true body was revealed from within—a dark red heart, covered in black streaks.

This heart was still beating, though at an extrely slow rate, approximately once every ten minutes, and its movents were very slight. Had Chen Xing’s senses not been enhanced, he would hardly have noticed this minute pulsation.

The Titan’s Heart was enormous, nearly sixty ters tall.

For an average Beast Tar, swallowing it would have been impossible, and the Titan’s Heart itself was incredibly hard, impervious to common ans of destruction.

Thus, this served as an implicit mandatory condition.

Fortunately, Taotie was even larger, opening its abyss-like maw to swallow the Titan’s Heart in one gulp.

It then slowly slid into its stomach.

Taotie felt a stretch in its belly, and sothing within seed to be pulsing, reminiscent of carrying a little baby.

No, that can’t be! I am a male crocodile!

Taotie was startled and its eyes widened in shock.

Next was to carry the Domain Stele and blow the Calamity conch.

Clearly, the conch could not be blown by himself.

According to inherited knowledge, whoever blew it would undergo the baptism of Calamity.

Hence, it could only be Taotie who blew it!

Chen Xing placed the Domain Stele onto Taotie’s back.

In contrast to its current size, the Domain Stele was quite small, tiny even but anyone who looked towards it would be drawn to the Domain Stele on its back.

Qiu Shangqing’s mind was muddled, wondering what that pale golden stele could be.

It didn’t look like anything ordinary.

Chen Xing took out the Calamity conch and positioned it beside Taotie’s mouth.

After securing it in place, he had Sìxiàng pull him back.

“Once the moon is fully eclipsed, blow the Calamity conch in your mouth,” Chen Xing told Taotie.

“Dudu~”

Taotie attempted to open its mouth to respond but accidentally blew out two deep notes from the conch.

Taotie jumped in fright.

“Blowing it now is useless; its function is only activated after the eclipse,” Chen Xing shook his head. This was one reason why many people were unable to figure out the special purpose of the Calamity conch and rely treated it as a normal Advanced Secret Treasure.

Only in conjunction with the lunar eclipse could it unleash even more wondrous effects.

Under the watchful eyes of Qiu Shangqing and Chen Xing, darkness continued to devour the moon until even the last sliver of moonlight vanished, plunging the whole world into chaos.

The valley they were in also beca increasingly indistinct as the scenery around them seed to be consud by darkness.

In this murky night, the Domain Stele on Taotie’s back emitted a faint glimr. Though the light was weak, it served as a beacon in the darkness.

The mysterious runes inscribed on the stele grew even more prominent.

Taotie blew the Calamity conch in its mouth.

The sound was deep and haunting, starkly different from the previously cheerful and bright ‘dudu’ noises.

It seed to emanate from the Abyss.

“Wuu~”

The sound of the conch echoed throughout the valley as ghostly winds began to blow.

Simultaneously, the moon, now swallowed by the eclipse above, underwent another transformation.

At the sa ti, outside the mysterious palace on the moon, for so reason, blood-red mists enveloped the entire moon, with a tall and vague silhouette appearing intermittently within the fog.

Inside the palace, a white behemoth watched the figure outside warily.

Despite knowing that the intruder could not enter, it remained highly vigilant.

That’s because the stranger’s rank was in no way inferior to its own master. To be precise, they were two sides of the sa coin; with light ca darkness, with the sun ca the moon.

However, just then, a faint sound ca from a distant place.

The tall figure within the mist shuddered, seemingly caught off guard by the sudden change.

“No!!! Who is scheming against !”

The being within the mist let out an angry roar, much like thunder clapping.

But now it wasn’t in its complete form, much less at full strength. How could the ordeal of Calamity be triggered now? Its painstakingly gathered essence was being consud as nourishnt for this great ordeal.
