To be more precise, they judged the quality of the jade inside a stone by the concentration of Spiritual Energy on its surface.
Shi Yaoguang and Quan Jinbei took a quick look around and found that most of the stones contained no Spiritual Energy at all.
The ones that did were a rare exception.
There was one store, however, that was the exception to this rule.
It was a shop nad "Mystical Stone Materials Store".
At first glance, this store didn’t look any different from the others outside.
The phrase "lost in the crowd" could not be more fitting to describe it.
Upon closer inspection, Shi Yaoguang noticed sothing amiss.
The location of this shop, as well as its imdiate surroundings, seed significantly nicer compared to other places.
This might not be obvious to ordinary people, but to cultivators, it was a clear and detectable difference.
And this, presumably, had sothing to do with the "Mystical Stone Materials Store".
"Welco, what can I help you two find?"
As Shi Yaoguang and Quan Jinbei entered, they were promptly greeted by soone.
Shi Yaoguang pointed to a stone at the entrance and asked, "How are those sold?"
The clerk explained in detail, "Those outside are our scrap materials, sold for five hundred per catty."
With that, he politely inquired, "Do either of you have an interest in any?"
Shi Yaoguang didn’t speak but started to examine the stones within the shop.
The stones inside were like the scraps outside, all of them good finds.
Very few were deficient in Spiritual Energy, aning that there would never be a loss with the stones from this shop.
In that case, why would they sell these stones?
"Your shop’s stones are all top-quality goods. Even if opened by yourselves, there would be no loss, so why sell them?"
Quan Jinbei asked directly.
Had it only been the scrap materials at the entrance that were of good quality, he might have hesitated.
But the fact that the pieces displayed inside were also good proved sothing.
The materials at the entrance and those inside the store generating revenue was not a coincidence.
Furthermore, compared to what was inside, the ones on the ground outside were indeed not worth ntioning.
Put it this way, the entire pile outside might not even be worth as much as a single piece from inside when opened.
The clerk was taken aback by how perceptive Quan Jinbei was and paused for a mont before responding, "There’s a reason for that."
"What reason?"
"These stones were actually brought back by our Young Master himself from the mining site."
The clerk sighed and said, "Actually, we hadn’t planned on selling this batch of goods, but we had no choice."
"If our Young Master hadn’t run into trouble, he would certainly never have agreed to sell this batch, but there are no ifs in reality."
When the clerk spoke of the Young Master, there was a hint of emotion in his voice.
It seed he was indeed worried about the Young Master he ntioned.
Shi Yaoguang’s eyes flickered, and he asked, "What happened to your Young Master?"
The clerk might have let sothing slip, but when Shi Yaoguang suddenly brought it up, he beca wary, "Why do you ask?"
Shi Yaoguang responded honestly, "I happen to know a bit about dicine."
"You know dical skills?" the store clerk asked in surprise, staring at her. Shi Yaoguang looked too young. When she claid to have dical skills, the clerk really couldn’t believe it.
Seeing his disbelief, Shi Yaoguang spoke right up, "Have you been feeling overheated lately? Maybe even having trouble sleeping at night, feeling anxious and irritable all the ti... and also..."
As she analyzed his condition sentence by sentence, the clerk was stunned, "How did you know that?"
Shi Yaoguang shrugged, "I told you, my dical skills are pretty good."
This convinced the clerk completely.
He couldn’t help but give Shi Yaoguang a thumbs-up, "You really are amazing."
As he spoke, he shared his young master’s condition with Shi Yaoguang, "Ever since our young master brought back this batch of stone materials, his health has been worsening. Our boss has suspected that the stone materials might be the issue..."
At this point, he closed his mouth guiltily.
"Exotic Stone Material Store" dealt in stones; his words as a clerk amounted to discouraging custors, which was a losing proposition.
It was a loss that didn’t bear thinking about.
Luckily, neither Shi Yaoguang nor her companion cared what the clerk said, as both could sense the spiritual energy contained within the stones.
They naturally felt there wasn’t anything wrong with this batch of stones.
As for why the young owner of "Exotic Stone Material Store" suddenly fell ill, that was another matter entirely.
Without having t the person, Shi Yaoguang couldn’t know what was wrong with him.
She was quite curious about the young owner’s condition and promptly volunteered to help take a look at him.
The clerk didn’t agree right away, however.
After all, he was just a clerk.
He had no authority to make decisions for the young master.
If the young master agreed, that would be great because, after what Shi Yaoguang had just demonstrated, he had co to believe in her dical skills.
Knowing that Shi Yaoguang was skilled, he naturally hoped that she could help take a look at the young master.
But he was unsure about her background, and so was very hesitant.
Before the clerk could waver for long, soone recognized Shi Yaoguang.
"You’re Shi Yaoguang?"
This was a little sister who had co to Gamble Stone City to play with her brother. She was elated to see Shi Yaoguang.
Shi Yaoguang was sowhat surprised, not expecting soone to recognize her.
Upon seeing her, she exclaid with joy, "I’m your fan!"
"That plant essence you talked about in the competition for fighting cancer, was it real?"
The little sister clearly had a lot of questions and couldn’t wait to ask them upon seeing her.
"And your robot Shi Guang, it’s really impressive. It’s a real lethal weapon; I’d love to have one..."
Hearing this, Shi Yaoguang chuckled, "What would you do with it?"
"I want it to save the world," the little sister said with a beaming smile. "There are so many bad people in the world, but I’m too weak to harm them."
"If I had Shi Guang to help , we could defeat the bad guys and save the world together!"
After saying that, she couldn’t help giggling, fantasizing about herself becoming a world hero.
Shi Yaoguang watched her innocent expression and didn’t mock her. She simply asked, "Where have you seen these bad people?"
"On the way here just now." As she ntioned it, the little sister’s expression turned indignant, "We ca across soone kidnapping a girl on the way here! If my brother and I hadn’t noticed in ti, she would’ve been taken."
As she talked about it, she couldn’t help getting angry, "How can there be such bad people in the world? We all live together on this planet, but they target their own kind, they’re worse than animals!"
