For a mont, a dismal aura surrounded Bai Zhantang.

This wouldn’t work, nor would that.

He was truly out of options.

"Why don’t you go find Shi Yaoguang?"

A friend made a suggestion to Bai Zhantang.

Bai Zhantang looked at him, despair in his eyes, "Are you sure she won’t beat up if I go to her?"

"Err..." His friend was at a loss for words.

To be honest, if he were in his shoes, faced with this situation, he would not let it slide.

Behind his back, using his words as a betting stake.

Wasn’t that asking for trouble?

eting his friend’s helpless gaze, Bai Zhantang’s smile was bitter.

Forget it.

He might as well think about how to die with less pain.

...

Shi Yaoguang, however, was oblivious to the fact that Bai Zhantang was almost "driven to death" by her.

After stepping onto the stage, she went to the waiting area just like the other contestants.

The first event to start was in the field of architecture.

The contestants brought their own architectural models or entered the competition with their drawings.

The value of the works was assessed by professional instructors.

Besides the instructor’s score, the audience also had the right to vote.

However, compared to the professional instructors’ evaluations, the votes from the audience carried less weight.

Each audience mber had only three votes in hand.

These three votes were inevitably cast for the most impressive, most valuable works on stage.

Therefore, the voting took place after everyone had finished competing.

Ling Qingxue and Shi Yaoguang didn’t stand far from each other, because they had signed up for the sa three events.

People standing near the two felt an almost palpable tension in the air.

One by one, they silently shifted their footsteps, trying to keep their distance from them.

"Shadow Queen Shi, we et again," Ling Qingxue took the initiative to greet her.

Shi Yaoguang responded with a smile, "We et again."

As she spoke, a hint of a smile played across her face, "At Emperor University, we’re alumni, Miss Ling, you can call ’junior’."

Hearing this, Ling Qingxue was far from feeling respected by Shi Yaoguang.

Her initial thought was that Shi Yaoguang was deliberately humiliating her.

If not to humiliate her, why else would Shi Yaoguang strike at her sore spot?

It was simply too much.

After Shi Yaoguang finished speaking, she saw Ling Qingxue staring at her with a cold face, and she beca confused, "Miss Ling?"

"Don’t think there’s anything to be proud of just because you are younger than and competing, the competition is about the final results, not who gets to participate earlier," Ling Qingxue snapped back, rolling her eyes, "Who knows how you even got to participate in this competition, whose favor you’re riding on."

Even Shi Yaoguang, not the sharpest, understood her insinuation.

Her expression imdiately turned cold, "What are you saying?"

Ling Qingxue’s remarks were a clear insinuation that Shi Yaoguang had so unspeakable deals with the higher-ups at the university and the organizers of the PK contest.

"Did I say sothing wrong?"

Ling Qingxue looked at Shi Yaoguang triumphantly, sneering, "Don’t think I don’t understand the filthy thoughts you all have."

Shi Yaoguang replied coolly, "I have filthy thoughts? I think the person with filthy thoughts is you."

"You really think I have no clue?" Ling Qingxue made a smug face, "Let tell you, I know all about the deal between you two."

"Then go ahead, tell , what deal I’ve made with whom, and what evidence do you have."

Shi Yaoguang spread her hands, "If you can produce evidence, you may deal with as you see fit."

"Otherwise..."

She drew out her tone, "You won’t be able to escape a defamation charge."

Hearing this, Ling Qingxue involuntarily felt guilty.

If she were really to be charged with defamation, the embarrassnt would be imnse.

No, that cannot happen.

After so thought, she stiffened her face and said to Shi Yaoguang, "I can’t be bothered to stoop to your level."

"Miss Ling." Shi Yaoguang was not about to indulge her, "In life and in deeds, it is the most basic principle to start well and finish well."

"Since you believe that my participation in the competition is illegitimate, then I want to know, what do you an by a legitimate channel? No exaggeration there, right?"

Ling Qingxue was just about to fabricate a fact when she received a warning from the System in her mind.

The System had already lost hope in Ling Qingxue being a help to it.

Before binding with Ling Qingxue, it hadn’t failed to evaluate other won.

However, Ling Qingxue’s overall conditions seed to be quite suitable, and she appeared not much different from Shi Yaoguang.

Regrettably, Ling Qingxue turned out to be nothing more than a feeble player with a strong front.

Now it was too late for regrets; the System didn’t expect Ling Qingxue to complete the task outstandingly; it rely hoped she would cause a fuss.

When Ling Qingxue perford her provocation earlier, the System was not with her.

Otherwise, she would not have had the chance to provoke Shi Yaoguang at all.

But...

It happened to be such a coincidence.

Ling Qingxue, seeking montary verbal victory, intentionally slandered Shi Yaoguang.

Shi Yaoguang, unwilling to simply keep the peace, demanded that she present evidence.

Both parties made very reasonable claims.

Now it depends on...

Who has the upper hand.

"The PK competition before was only open to third and fourth-year students to participate. That’s a fact, right?"

Although Ling Qingxue regretted provoking Shi Yaoguang after the System’s reminder, she still harbored thoughts against her.

In Ling Qingxue’s view, Shi Yaoguang must have so underhand deal with the school authorities.

Otherwise, why would the school suddenly open the permissions this year, allowing freshn and sophomores to participate in the competition?

It was also such a coincidence that Shi Yaoguang registered for it this ti.

Clearly, the whole thing reeked of a dirty deal.

Her speaking out was nothing more than championing justice.

The more Ling Qingxue thought about it, the more convinced she beca that she was right.

At this mont, her tail could not have been held higher if she tried.

Shi Yaoguang watched her smug expressions, glanced at her aningfully, and then reminded her, "Every word you say can potentially beco evidence presented in court."

"What?" Ling Qingxue was stunned. How did her words beco potential court evidence out of nowhere?

Considering this, she heard Shi Yaoguang say, "For the sake of my personal reputation, I am equipped with a team of lawyers."

"If anyone maliciously spreads rumors and defas , I have the right to retaliate."

As she spoke, she looked at Ling Qingxue with a mild smile, "Unfortunately, Miss Ling, you brought this on yourself."

"Every word you have said here today is evidence."

Ling Qingxue’s face turned white, not expecting Shi Yaoguang to take such a strong stance.

What she thought was a trivial matter turned into sothing she could not back down from because of Shi Yaoguang’s drama.

As she was filled with embarrassnt, Shi Yaoguang continued to ask knowingly, "Miss Ling, do you still stand by what you have said?"

Ling Qingxue wanted to shake her head, but the stubbornness at the bottom of her heart wouldn’t allow her to do so.

She thought to herself that what she said might not necessarily be wrong. What if Shi Yaoguang did have so dealings with the school authorities? All she needed to do was to find the evidence.
