"What is she doing here at today’s art exhibition?"

Shi Yiqing directly asked the person in charge.

With a sowhat sycophantic tone, the person in charge said, "Miss Yiqing, you’re right, today we are hosting an art exhibition, not so sort of entertainnt show."

"Today here, Miss Yiqing, you are of utmost importance, she..."

He hesitated, his tone seemingly carrying a trace of contempt, "she simply cannot be compared to Miss Yiqing. You are here to participate in the art exhibition competition, she is at best invited to liven up the event."

After he had spoken to Shi Yiqing, he looked at Shi Yaoguang and said, "Miss Shi, what I said is correct, isn’t it? Although you are a big shot in the entertainnt industry, this place is not about the glitz of the entertainnt world."

As he spoke, his eyes seed to hold a hint of disdain.

Looking at Shi Yaoguang, it was as if he was looking at so sort of disgusting trash.

This was sothing Shi Yaoguang could not accept.

She couldn’t be bothered with the person’s sarcastic tone.

But that did not an she would let him overstep his bounds.

Being watched with a cold look by Shi Yaoguang, the person in charge felt inexplicably uneasy.

Upon reflection, he hadn’t said anything wrong.

The core of the art exhibition was, indeed, just that—an art exhibition.

This had nothing to do with an entertainnt industry star like Shi Yaoguang.

Her presence was rely to garner attention.

Those who could be here today were either well-known figures in the art world or big shots from various industries.

So of the paintings at the exhibition were not for sale, while others were.

Thus, the participation of buyers was naturally required for the art exhibition.

The person in charge did not believe that Shi Yaoguang fit into either of those categories so, consequently, his attitude toward her beca dismissive.

He even went as far as to mock her in an effort to ingratiate himself with Shi Yiqing.

In his view, Shi Yaoguang was just a celebrity.

Even if she was angry inside, she couldn’t vent it on him.

Public figures care a lot about face, and he didn’t believe that Shi Yaoguang would throw a tantrum in public.

Shi Yaoguang, seeing his expression, knew what he was thinking.

But she was not his mother and had no intention of indulging him.

As for his thought that she wouldn’t lose her temper...

Well, that was just his own idea, wasn’t it?

The person in charge, under Shi Yaoguang’s cold gaze, felt a pang of fear and took a subconscious step back, looking at her warily.

"You, you wouldn’t be thinking of hitting , would you?"

Shi Yaoguang chuckled lightly, "Why would I hit you?"

The person in charge breathed a sigh of relief. As long as she wasn’t going to hit him, that was fine.

Then, he thought he was being too timid.

How could Shi Yaoguang possibly hit him?

She was a public figure.

If she dared to get physical, what awaited her would certainly not be a good outco.

Thinking this way, he suddenly felt that he had been too lenient with her.

Allowing her to treat him with such a cold attitude.

Even Shi Yiqing, such a genius artist, was never so rude.

The person in charge had seen the paintings Shi Yiqing brought for the exhibition, and it could be said that they had already reached a state of fervent adoration.

Logically speaking, as the person responsible for the exhibition, they should have seen plenty of fine paintings.

It was even more unlikely for them to make such a big fuss over just one painting.

Yet, they were utterly captivated by the painting created by Shi Yiqing, now wholeheartedly devout to her.

They didn’t even need Shi Yiqing to say anything, they took the initiative to stand by her side, cutting off all other possibilities.

For Shi Yiqing, this was naturally a good thing.

As a result, Shi Yiqing was more than happy to see the person in charge pick on Shi Yaoguang.

Not only was she happy about it, but she also wished that the person in charge would speak more sharply.

It’d be best if they embarrassed Yaoguang to the point of being unable to show her face.

"Do you have a problem with ?"

Yaoguang didn’t care what Shi Yiqing was thinking deep down, she retracted her icy gaze from the person in charge and spoke indifferently.

The person in charge snorted, their tone dripping with contempt, "I wouldn’t dare have an issue with you. You’re a big star, not soone a nobody like could afford to offend."

Hearing this, Shi Yiqing imdiately looked at them with a pained expression, anxiously saying, "How could you talk like that? In this world, everyone is equal. Even if Yaoguang is a celebrity, she is still a human being. As a person, you have no need to belittle yourself."

She looked at the person in charge with an encouraging gaze, as if to fortify their spirit, hoping they would stand strong.

The person in charge actually showed a touched expression, "Miss Shi, you really are too kind."

Shi Yiqing smiled lightly, "It’s only what’s right. Don’t get the wrong idea."

The person in charge continued to lavish praise, "Only you could think like this, Miss Shi. Others would wish to trample the whole world beneath their feet to be satisfied."

After saying that, they added with an insinuating tone, "The entertainnt industry is such a ss. Who knows what kind of shady deals happen there? Miss Shi, as good a person as you are, sohow doesn’t asure up to certain others who simply sweep up the awards. To say there’s nothing fishy about it, I just don’t believe it."

Shi Yiqing deliberately lowered her head, showing a wronged expression, while still saying, "That’s how the rules of the entertainnt industry work. I’m used to it already, so don’t feel that it’s unfair for . After all, there’s no such thing as absolute fairness in this world."

"Ah," sighed the person in charge, "if only there were fewer people in this world without the ambition to progress."

Shi Yiqing sighed sorrowfully but didn’t say anything.

Yaoguang watched their cooperative performance and, after they finished, finally spoke up, "Are you done?"

They were done.

Shi Yiqing and the person in charge exchanged glances, tacitly shifting their gazes apart.

Yaoguang continued, "Since you’re finished, I’d like to say sothing."

The person in charge showed a disdainful expression, "Miss Shi, although you’ve beco Best Actress now, please don’t forget that what we’re holding here today is an art exhibition."

"If you think you have the right to speak at the art exhibition, then... please feel free."

Their words said "please feel free," but their disdainful attitude ca through loud and clear.

Yaoguang wouldn’t play into their hand and imdiately responded, "I am also here to participate in the art exhibition."

Upon hearing this, the person in charge was taken aback.

"You too are here for the art exhibition? Are you sure it’s to participate?"

Yaoguang nodded, explaining, "I’ve brought a painting today, to be exhibited alongside Miss Shi’s."

The person in charge looked at Shi Yiqing, who furrowed her brow and showed hesitation, before asking, "Are you sure you can paint? You’re not just filling in numbers, are you?"

Yaoguang’s eyes narrowed, her gaze sharpening, "What makes you so confident to talk to like this?"

"You haven’t seen my painting, so how would you know for sure that I’m just filling in numbers?"

The person in charge: "..."

They were rendered speechless.

But they were not willing to admit they were wrong.

They snorted coldly and haughtily raised their head, "Who knows if you’re just here to grab attention on purpose?"
