"Are you really the Third Master? Could soone have switched places with you?"
Quan Jinbei raised his eyebrows and countered, "Am I that easy to swap out?"
Last ti, Shi Yaoguang had asked a similar question, hence when he brought it up this ti, his words carried a hint of dissatisfaction.
Shi Yaoguang t his oppressive gaze and weakly said, "I was just asking casually."
"Casually?"
"Um... and maybe a bit impulsively."
Shi Yaoguang raised her delicate hand as if taking an oath, "I really don’t an to underestimate you, I just find it too astonishing..."
"What’s so astonishing about that?"
Shi Yaoguang gave an awkward laugh, "Do you have so sort of misunderstanding about your own persona, Third Master?"
"What misunderstanding?"
"For instance... like you’re out of reach?"
Hearing this, Quan Jinbei spoke indifferently, "Flowers are ant to be picked, aren’t they?"
Shi Yaoguang blinked, feeling inexplicably that his words made a lot of sense.
Quan Jinbei continued, "A flower is just a flower. The only reason we differentiate high and low, noble and humble, is rely to screen out those unqualified to pick them."
Shi Yaoguang nodded her head, swayed by his argunt once again.
Quan Jinbei went on, "When Sun Sitian said I was your little wild dog before, didn’t you refrain from objecting?"
Shi Yaoguang nodded in agreent, "Yes, that’s right."
Quan Jinbei: "You didn’t object, which ans you acknowledged my role. Since you acknowledged it, what’s there to doubt?"
"Do you have an issue with saying I’m your little wild dog?"
Shi Yaoguang waved her hands, "No issue, no problem at all, I just feel it’s a bit disruptive to my impression of you."
First impressions are indeed very important.
Because of that impression, Shi Yaoguang had ford a fixed perception of Quan Jinbei.
When Quan Jinbei’s actions surpassed that expectation, it felt very... discordant.
Quan Jinbei looked at her conflicted expression and snorted lightly, "With like this, do you still feel wronged?"
"No, no, no." Shi Yaoguang swiftly denied, "Not wronged at all, I don’t feel wronged in the slightest."
As she spoke, she deftly changed the subject, "Where did you go this morning?"
Quan Jinbei hadn’t been around all morning, and if he had been, perhaps he might have discovered Shi Yiqing’s ddling earlier.
"I made a trip to Qingtian Entertainnt."
"Qingtian Entertainnt?" Shi Yaoguang was surprised, "The company started by Quan Sicheng?"
"Hmm."
"What did you go there for?"
"A field investigation."
Shi Yaoguang blinked, "A field investigation? But he’s not selling the company, so what were you inspecting? Don’t tell ..."
She halted midway through her sentence, "He couldn’t already be in such poor managent that he needs to sell, could he?"
Quan Jinbei shook his head; Shi Yaoguang thought that sounded about right, then she heard him say, "Not long from now."
Not long from now?
What’s not long from now?
"Qingtian Entertainnt won’t last much longer before going bankrupt," Quan Jinbei provided a complete explanation.
Shi Yaoguang: "..."
Although it was anticipated, the speed of it was still astonishing.
Quan Jinbei, for his part, did not find it surprising, "He converted the bulk into resources allocated to Shi Yiqing, leaving only a small part to maintain normal company operations."
However, a company cannot simply survive by maintaining normal operations.
Continuing at this pace, Qingtian Entertainnt’s bankruptcy was imminent.
Shi Yaoguang was quite looking forward to it.
On top of her anticipation, she couldn’t help but give Quan Jinbei a thumbs up.
"You are truly the Third Master!"
Quan Jinbei looked puzzled, "Why are you suddenly praising ?"
Shi Yaoguang clicked her tongue, "The Third Master must have absorbed all the wisdom genes from generations of the Quan Family. By the ti it got to Quan Sicheng, only so dregs were left, which is why he’s such a simpleton."
After pondering for a mont, Quan Jinbei nodded without hesitation, fully agreeing with her, "You are right."
...
Qingtian Entertainnt.
Quan Sicheng was frantically busy.
The company may have been a small workshop, but when we got busy, it was hardly any less stressful than a listed company.
Especially now that Qingtian Entertainnt had only two million yuan of accessible funds left.
A re two million?
Investnt?
Fool’s dreams!
Without investnt, there would be no cash flow into the pockets.
Without money, the company couldn’t operate.
If the company couldn’t operate, it could only close down.
What use could a bankrupt company possibly have?
But this wasn’t even the most important issue.
Today, his Qingtian Entertainnt was not a small company he owned for fun; it was a trial for the family!
If he couldn’t pass this test, the chances of reaching for the family’s money ever again were practically nil.
Quan Sicheng was very clear about this and because he was so acutely aware, he found it even harder to accept.
These days, he was constantly busy negotiating with other potential partners.
He didn’t know if it was because Quan Jinbei had deliberately given a heads-up, but his reputation as the fourth young master of the Quan family seed utterly worthless out there.
No one would give him face for the sake of the Quan family.
That was already bad enough, but so even deliberately targeted him.
Of course, with his current small workshop, being targeted rely ant not receiving any special favors.
As for actually setting traps and scheming against him—he wasn’t worth all that trouble.
After all, setting traps was a hassle, wasting manpower and resources; using them on an insignificant person like him just wasn’t worth it.
Quan Sicheng also knew his situation, so he could only think of ways to associate with people who weren’t afraid of Quan Jinbei’s power.
But such people were few and far between.
What he didn’t know was that the Quan family patriarch had also entered the fray.
And because he didn’t know, he could remain so composed.
Even if bankruptcy lood, he could calmly research thods of coming back from the dead.
Otherwise...
He would certainly be unable to sit still right now.
In Quan Sicheng’s view, this family trial was entirely a ploy by Quan Jinbei to ss with him, and it all started because of Shi Yaoguang.
This starting point was very difficult for Quan Sicheng to accept.
Because of this, he was determined to deliver so results, to show them a thing or two.
In his opinion, he still had an alternative.
Despite acting in front of Shi Yiqing as if this was the only path he could take.
Deep down, he knew his situation all too well.
He was aware that within the Quan family, aside from Quan Jinbei, he could still rely on the elder Mr. Quan.
No matter who gave up on him, the elder Mr. Quan would not.
With such a safety net, he could afford to try things he wouldn’t ordinarily dare to try.
But what he didn’t realize was that the elder Mr. Quan’s influence had already waned.
That said, every situation has two sides.
Just because he was unaware before doesn’t an he would remain so.
Indeed, during a business discussion today, he learned this piece of news from a potential partner.
"Young Master Sicheng, it’s not that we deliberately want to make things difficult for you, but this matter is really troubleso for us as well!"
This was what Quan Sicheng heard from the other party after being rejected.
Quan Sicheng didn’t understand, "What do you an by that? Am I not just asking for a chance to cooperate? Is this how you make things difficult?"
"If young Master Sicheng only seeks a chance to cooperate, it’s not impossible; after all, cooperation is cooperation, no matter who you work with, right?"
That was exactly what Quan Sicheng thought; as long as they weren’t targeting him intentionally, he didn’t see any problem in seeking cooperation. If that was the case, why was he always being rejected?
This puzzlent was soon clarified.
"Third Master Quan has made it clear that none of us should give you any advantage based on your identity. Doing so would an choosing to stand against him. You know it’s not easy for us businesspeople. If we offend Third Master Quan, wouldn’t that be akin to digging our own graves?"
"What does this have to do with you refusing ?" Quan Sicheng still couldn’t fully grasp it.
The potential partner lowered his voice and said, "It’s all because of elder Mr. Quan; he has given his orders too, exactly opposite to the Third Master’s. He told us to secretly help you, preferably to get your business off the ground, but..."
Quan Sicheng imdiately tensed up, "But what?"
"You should know, young master Sicheng, when the King of Hell fights, the lesser demons suffer. We are re underlings. We dare not ddle in the internal struggles of the Quan family, so when it cos to cooperating with you, we will consider it carefully."
The implication was, they would consider carefully how to refuse.
