It turned out to be a chinchilla kitten!
Beelzebub’s whole body trembled, feeling an imnse sense of crisis.
How could He possibly not recognize it?
Well played, Amon, you really know how to choose a cat form, huh? Don’t you know it’s illegal to be this cute?!
The cat clawing at the door noticed His presence and slowly turned its head, revealing a pair of deep green eyes.
In the darkness, His eyes emitted a glow, exuding a dangerous chill.
Beelzebub t His gaze, maintaining composure.
Amon snorted. “Beelzebub, you’re an accomplice too.”
Beelzebub choked, thinking to Himself that Aelioge must have ssed up, and Amon had discovered the truth, but surely He wouldn’t have told Big Brother, right?
Beelzebub and Amon had never gotten along since they were young, and one could even say there was great conflict between them.
Why was that?
The main conflict was about ranking.
He should have been Father’s seventh child, rightfully ranked seventh, but He had remained unconscious for a long ti, like an eternally dormant failure.
So Father continued creating, and next created Amon, giving the seventh rank to Amon.
This wasn’t Father’s fault, after all, who could have predicted that He would eventually gain consciousness?
But Beelzebub still harbored resentnt towards the “seventh” rank in His heart, not wanting to be the youngest, not wanting to beco their littlest brother. So He rejected the twenty-fourth rank, simply becoming unranked and outside the system.
And facing Amon, who occupied the seventh rank, He always felt an inexplicable displeasure.
If Amon had an agreeable personality, like Samikina or Barbatos, He might have been able to accept it.
But Amon was far too mischievous, constantly mocking and ridiculing Him, calling Him little brother, saying He was greedy and couldn’t control His appetite, often playing tricks on Him, tripping Him up, and teasing Him.
When they were in the Abyss, He was still weak and could only hide behind Father, enduring humiliation. Later, when He grew stronger, how could He still tolerate it?
So after leaving the Abyss, He had constant friction with Amon, fighting hundreds of rounds, never having a proper conversation.
He never expected to encounter Amon today. Really, of all the siblings, why did it have to be Amon? Aelioge, you truly dropped the ball!
Beelzebub’s face turned ashen as He stared at the cat-ford Amon, quietly releasing His magic power, feeling quite the urge to fight.
Amon saw through His thoughts and waved a paw, saying, “Beelzebub, if we fight here, humans will discover us. We already have enough dark history, let’s not create more that we can’t erase.”
Beelzebub’s movents froze, and though He didn’t speak, His eyes narrowed to slits.
If they were to truly fight, Beelzebub was confident in defeating Amon, provided He could bring Himself to use full force against His own sibling and suppress Amon’s authority.
But where were they? Barely four or five ters from Father’s location. Was it really wise to engage in a full-blown fight here?
Beelzebub was irritable due to hunger and maintained a stern face without speaking.
His human form had dark green, slightly curly long hair that fell smoothly like seaweed behind Him. Due to His emotional agitation, His magic power wrapped around the silky strands, causing them to float up like a deep-sea monster, exuding an intimidating aura that distorted the surrounding space.
Amon glanced at Him, having no new opinion of this sibling with strong self-esteem and desire for revenge, and directly stated, “Beelzebub, if you’re hungry, go eat sothing. Don’t spread your emotions near Father, don’t disturb Father.”
Beelzebub visibly cald down upon hearing the word “Father”, gradually retracting His magical power, but still stared at Amon with rejection.
Amon turned His head, pushed open the door with His paw, and casually said, “Don’t worry, although I want to tell Big Brother, that bastard Aelioge has leverage over , so from now on I’m your accomplice too. By the way, Inpos, that brother, refused to confess anything, but even if He doesn’t, I always have ways to find out. He’s really stubborn, isn’t He? If it were Buer, She would have surrendered and confessed long ago.”
Beelzebub instantly processed this information, His expression changing unpredictably. He understood that Aelioge had entrusted the matter to Inpos, and then Inpos ssed it up.
Inpos really…it’s not the first ti He’s dropped the ball. Such a great demon, could turning into a cat really lower His intelligence?
Beelzebub’s eyes shifted, but He still followed Amon into the bookstore.
Shocked as He was, Beelzebub also noticed one thing.
Amon was walking very slowly, clearly nervous inside. Otherwise, once He knew Father’s location, He should have rushed to Father’s side, not lingering hesitantly at the doorway.
This guy… hasn’t seen Father for a long ti, and He’s actually nervous.
Beelzebub seed to have discovered His sibling’s inner face and felt so of His anger dissipate, just watching Amon’s movents.
The chinchilla kitten Amon had transford into was very small, walking as if treading on cotton candy, tiptoeing quietly, with fur that was fluffy where it should be fluffy and smooth where it should be smooth, refined to the extre.
In Beelzebub’s view, hmph, every move was calculated!
Suddenly, the little kitten stopped, resting its head at the edge of the door crack, timidly peeking inside.
Amon, this demon who had been arrogant and lawless since childhood, unexpectedly showed such a side.
Beelzebub found it novel and chose not to disturb Him.
In fact, how could they not empathize? A reunion after more than eight thousand years was too aningful for them.
Even a demon like Amon would probably be anxious and overthinking.
Beelzebub fell silent.
The little kitten widened its eyes. The scene inside the room was reflected in the depths of its deep green pupils.
Its gaze fixed on the young man intently reading a book, its pupils trembling violently, its eye sockets gradually reddening, its eyes brimming with tears.
A paw stretched out, then retracted, its head lifted, then drooped, the little kitten’s body trembled slightly, as if choking back sobs, even using its paw to wipe away tears.
Beelzebub watched silently, for the first ti being so aware of the atmosphere, unable to utter any harsh or hurtful words.
He thought Amon would push open the door and rush to Father’s side the next second, but Amon didn’t. Instead, He just kept watching like this, until a long, long ti had passed, two hours gone by, waiting until the young man in His eyes grew tired and went to bed to sleep, only then did He finally make a move, quietly pushing open the door, tiptoeing into the room.
How could the little ragdoll inside possibly not have noticed Amon peeking from outside all this ti?
The little ragdoll raised its head from under the covers, its glowing green eyes fixed on Amon, saying nothing, just following Amon’s movents with its gaze.
Amon quietly climbed onto the bed, tiptoeing to the pillow side. His cat eyes looked again and again, and only after a long while did He dare to move His paw, gently touching His father’s face, as if confirming whether this was a dream or reality.
Then, the little kitten trembled again, tears rolling down like beans, soaking patches of the blanket.
In His heart, He thought, still alive, you’ve co back, you didn’t lie to , you’ll still play with , right?
The little kitten lay at the edge of the blanket, head drooping, body slightly shaking.
At this mont, the person who should have been asleep suddenly opened his eyes, reaching out from under the blanket to stroke the little kitten’s face, fingers gently wiping away His tears.
The little kitten was stunned, emotions surging, and heard a gentle voice by His ear.
“You’ve co back too, Amon.”
This was a sentence that made His heart skip a beat.
The little kitten froze foolishly, the composure and calmness that had just broken through His demonic heart no longer existed, leaving only redder eye rims and unstoppable tears.
He choked out. “ow…ow…”
Xiu Si smiled. “It’s alright, Father’s here, Father missed you very much.”
The little kitten lifted its face, tears wetting its beautiful fur.
“Wu wu ow.”
Xiu Si sat up, grateful for the protection of light that allowed him to illuminate the surroundings at will, letting him see his child clearly.
Amon was a mischievous child, sowhat rejecting of His siblings, thus often lonely and isolated, playing His little gas in the corner.
Although He rarely spoke, Xiu Si knew this child was actually very lonely.
Constrained by the presence of other siblings, He was always too awkward to co close, but once Xiu Si approached, He would be overjoyed, clinging to him for a long, long ti.
Xiu Si said, “Father won’t leave again, don’t be afraid.”
The little kitten nuzzled its head against him, unable to stop crying for a long ti.
Beelzebub observed from the door crack for a while, lowering His head in thought, His gaze profound, lips slightly pursed, as if reflecting on so things.
At this mont, Buer suddenly communicated, “Beelzebub, don’t you think…”
Beelzebub raised His eyes. “What?”
“We should improve our relationships.”
Buer rarely spoke such rational and mature words, Her cat eyes glowing, unusually serious.
“…”
Beelzebub paused for a few seconds, His gaze seemingly softening a bit, thinking that it was indeed true. They childishly rejected their siblings, harbored mutual hostility, disliked each other, knowing full well that Father didn’t want them to be like this, yet they still maintained a facade of harmony while stabbing each other in the back. Apart from Samikina and Barbatos, almost no demon had actively thought about improving relationships with siblings, showing Father their loving side.
How could this be acceptable?
What parent doesn’t want to see their children united and loving? They knew this, yet persisted in their individual ways, refusing to compromise, resulting in dark history spread all over the world, making a ss that took forever to clean up.
Looking back, they realized that Agares had never said a wrong word.
Their second brother truly understood, it’s just that He spoke too little, and when He did speak, it was like a riddle demon.
However, even if more had been said, with their mindset at the ti, they probably wouldn’t have listened. One can understand the principle, but hearing doesn’t an taking it to heart.
So this process of friction was actually inevitable.
Turning it over and over, was it still the sa?
Beelzebub was a proud demon, but now He knew to bow His head, though He still had to say, “It’s not for you all, it’s for Father.”
Buer giggled, Her eyes flickering. After a while, She suddenly confessed, “Actually, it’s like this, I accidentally revealed to Father that I can speak…”
“Huh?”
Beelzebub widened His eyes, “So you laid all that groundwork just for this?”
Buer raised an eyebrow, saying matter-of-factly. “Little brother should forgive the big sister, right?”
“…”
Beelzebub paused, His mouth twitching slightly, the resolution He had just made nearly disappearing. To get along with these siblings who constantly dropped the ball was perhaps too much of a challenge to His patience.
Just thinking about it was a bit irritating! Beelzebub’s face darkened again.
Buer chuckled and changed the subject, “You didn’t get any results investigating the Church of Dawn, but it seems Aelioge has made so progress.”
“What progress did He make?”
Beelzebub unconsciously competed with Aelioge, and upon hearing that Aelioge had made progress, His face darkened a bit.
Buer said, “It’s said that He found a clue about the Hero Justin, and went to the Divine Kingdom of Destruction in the subspace.”
Beelzebub frowned, seeming to instinctively dislike the words “Divine Kingdom of Destruction”.
“What’s the deal with Hero Justin, why did he go there of all places?”
“I don’t know,” Buer cupped Her chin, striking a detective pose, “but if we find Hero Justin, we should be able to uncover the secret of the heroes’ disappearance, right? Then we can follow the trail to find the mastermind behind it all.”
Beelzebub nodded, “You’ve beco clever. The mastermind might be getting anxious now.”
Buer was dissatisfied, thinking, what do you an I’ve beco clever? I’ve always been smart, okay? Don’t underestimate your big sister!
But suddenly, Buer beca a bit worried and said in a deep voice, “By the way, won’t it be dangerous for Aelioge, a lone demon, to go with an immature God of Darkness?”
Beelzebub blurted out. “What danger could He be in? He’s evenly matched with everyone. If He can’t win, He can at least run, right?”
Buer shook Her head, “It’s hard to say. If He faces an ultimate being, even He would be in danger, right?”
Beelzebub’s eyes darkened, and He suddenly turned to open a void, glancing sideways and saying, “Alright, I’ll go to the Divine Kingdom of Destruction to find Him. You protect Father and keep an eye on Amon. Also, don’t drop the ball again.”
Buer was fine with the first part, but Her face darkened at the end. Can’t you stop ntioning dropping the ball? This demon isn’t that careless!
Beelzebub glanced at Her, withdrew His gaze, and left.
Watching the space close, Buer humphed, then beca thoughtful, Her gaze slowly turning towards the sky.
Looking up from the continent, the starry sky was dangerous yet brilliant.
Beautiful as it was, it harbored countless crises that could destroy civilizations.
Tides rise and fall, stars form and die.
Buer muttered to Herself. “The Divine Kingdom of Destruction, huh…”
As far as She knew, there were quite a few max-level beings there, and so otherworld gods were watching nearby. Going there always felt sowhat unsafe.
They had all reached max level three to four thousand years ago, but advancing beyond that was a problem.
Max level was a major threshold; breaking through it was the path towards becoming an ultimate eternal being.
However, for every living being, this was an extrely difficult task.
Because there was no set thod, all beings could only feel their way across the river by touching the stones.
Even the strongest among the heroes had only taken half a step into the ultimate realm, able to burst out ultimate power for an extrely short ti.
As for other humans… there were only rumors, but later it was proven to be just bluffing to scare the otherworld gods. There was no concrete evidence of ultimate beings.
If one had to ntion soone, perhaps only the Human Primordial God could be thought of. But He died under the siege of many gods and was devoured by the Otherworld God Number 001. How could you prove the strength of a god who was already dead?
Buer shook Her head, thinking that She hadn’t even seen the Human Primordial God in person before He died, so how could She know what kind of being He was.
However, co to think of it, She hadn’t thought about advancing for a long ti. It just seed too difficult and troubleso, so She didn’t want to bother. In the blink of an eye, a thousand years had passed, and Her level remained unchanged. Perhaps there was so progress in the use of Her authority, but not much. It felt like She had practiced to the limit.
“Is it a lack of talent, or a lack of effort?”
Buer wasn’t the type to pursue power. To ask Her to be like Her eldest brother who pursued power, She seed incapable of doing so.
But strength was the hard truth, this was eternally unchanging.
Buer suddenly thought of sothing, Her gaze becoming solemn, staring at the farthest reaches of the starry sky.
Her own power was only enough to control the continent, but the universe was so vast, with too many uncertainties. She still had a long way to go.
Moreover, Father was working hard to beco stronger, how could She fall behind?
For the first ti in thousands of years, Buer’s determination was boiling.
That’s right, She needed to beco stronger, to beco an ultimate being, to secretly help Father beco the overlord of the universe!
On the surface, She would be the little kitten by Father’s side, but in reality, an ultimate great demon!
