"Let go!"

Su Wanyu's cheeks flushed with a tinge of red as she struggled to release her grip, but Lu Liang held on tightly.

"Since I've caught it, where's the logic in saying let go just because you say so?"

A smile appeared on Lu Liang's face, and suddenly, as if by magic, he pulled a delicate four-leaf clover bracelet from his pocket.

He said softly, "The four-leaf clover is a rare variant of the clover species, and amongst a hundred thousand three-leaf clovers, only one is a four-leaf. Therefore, it's considered a sign of luck. eting you is the biggest fortune of my life, will you be my girlfriend, please?"

"Ah~"

Su Wanyu stood there, stunned. Although she indeed had a good impression of Lu Liang, and though they had spent over fifty hours together,

But, but, finalizing a relationship on the first date, wasn't that a bit too fast? She wasn't ready to accept it yet.

"Is it too fast?" Lu Liang seed to read her thoughts.

Su Wanyu nodded hastily, her face flushed red and her limbs stiff, her speech beca a ss, "That... could you, you... give so ti?"

"So, you don't like ? And you've rejected ?"

Lu Liang sighed, his mood fell, and his disappointnt was written all over his face.

"I... I don't dislike you, and I haven't rejected you."

Su Wanyu was so flustered she was nearly in tears, unable to keep herself from stamping her foot.

Then she misstepped and twisted her ankle accidentally, gasping in pain.

"This plot is so lodramatic, blind eyes and a la leg, I feel like I've seen this sowhere before."

Lu Liang was shocked but couldn't help laughing, "Let's head to the hospital later, hopefully they won't find sothing's wrong, right?"

"You, you... you jerk!"

Su Wanyu glared at him. She was soone who had watched Korean dramas, so she naturally knew what Lu Liang was about to say next. After much effort, she finally managed to say sothing that made her want to cry in frustration.

With just her right foot touching the ground, a bone-deep pain spread, forcing her to grab onto Lu Liang's arm to stabilize herself.

"Don't move rashly, let have a look."

Lu Liang's smile faded, and he put aside his playful deanor, carefully supporting her to the nearby flowerbed.

He turned on his phone's flashlight, crouched down to inspect her foot, and took off her flat shoe along with half of her cotton sock.

Her fair ankle was visibly swelling at a rapid pace – in just a few seconds, it swelled up like a pig's trotter.

Suddenly, the sound of sniffling ca, followed by a clear teardrop falling onto the back of Lu Liang's hand.

Su Wanyu's nose was red, her eyes brimming with tears, and her long lashes glistening with droplets.

Wiping her tears, she remained silent and tearful, like a child wronged with no one to tell, left to endure the pain alone.

Lu Liang frowned and, without caring whether she agreed or not, pulled her arms over his shoulders and lifted her onto his back.

Any explanation now would seem weak – the priority was to take her to the hospital and give her ti to calm down.

Su Wanyu struggled as if she was harder to grasp than a pig during New Year's slaughter, but Lu Liang was unyielding, paying no notice to anything she said or did.

After a long walk, she finally cald down, her arms instinctively wrapped around Lu Liang's neck, her cheek resting on his shoulder, tears still in her eyes.

She wasn't crying because of the pain, but because of the injustice.

"Lu Liang, you are a jerk."

In Su Wanyu's imagination, her first date with the person she liked was supposed to be wonderful.

A happy date, a joyous return ho, even lying in bed before sleep, the mories of tonight would have made her blush with joy.

Yet, as the movie line goes,

You can guess the beginning but not the ending.

Lu Liang could only offer a wry smile and refrained from making excuses.

After all, during tis like this, once the outburst is over, it's over, any further details would just darken the picture.

He had initially hoped for a swift resolution, to establish the relationship first and develop the emotions slowly over ti.

Little did he expect, life is full of surprises, and a series of coincidental events had led to the current situation.

Before long, they returned to the parking lot of Haidilao, and Lu Liang drove Su Wanyu to the hospital for a checkup.

Fortunately, it was only a mild sprain. After setting and bandaging, she was advised to rest quietly at ho for about a week to recover.

As Lu Liang busied himself, he suddenly noticed the bracelet – at so point, Su Wanyu had put it on her wrist.

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a faintly discernible smile, "How about, we do a full-body checkup?"

What she got in return was Su Wanyu's big roll of the eyes, as she protested, "If you want to do it, do it yourself, I'm not doing it."

Picking up dicines and paying for them, they bought a walking cane to aid her movent. Lu Liang supported Su Wanyu as they left the hospital and he asked knowingly, "That bracelet looks really nice, did your boyfriend give it to you?"

"So jerk compensated with it."

Su Wanyu huffed, feeling resentful.

Lu Liang couldn't help but suppress a chuckle, "That jerk told to ask you where you live, he wants to take you ho."

"Tell that jerk to first stop by the company to get my glasses, then head to Guangzhong Fifth Village."

"Can't you live on campus for postgraduate studies?"

"Definitely not."

Lu Liang suddenly understood; he had never taken the exam and wasn't clear on the details.

He had previously heard Su Wanyu say that she had been preparing for the postgraduate studies since the beginning of the year and assud she had been living on campus all this ti.

However, Lu Liang didn't go back to the company. Instead, he found an eyeglass shop near the hospital, "At this hour, the buildings are all locked. Let's just buy a new pair."

In fact, locked doors didn't really affect Lu Liang, he could make a phone call and have soone open the door. The main reason was he didn't want Su Wanyu to wear those glasses anymore; to be honest, they were quite unattractive.

When she was unfamiliar with people, Su Wanyu's temperant tended towards the cool and distant, which suited rimless glasses very well.

And indeed, that was the case.

Lu Liang helped her choose a pair of rimless square fras, and her overall attractiveness instantly rose from a 9 to 9.5.

The remaining 0.5 was purely because she was young and still lacked the charm specific to mature won.

Su Wanyu saw the price and frowned slightly, "I have several pairs at ho, no need to buy new ones."

One pair cost 3800,

she could get them for just over a hundred online.

Lu Liang smiled and told the shop owner to proceed with the order, "Just consider it compensation from the jerk."

"Don't want it."

Su Wanyu was serious. She knew Lu Liang was very rich, but she had her own scale in her heart to asure which gifts were appropriate to accept and which weren't.

Just like she accepted Lu Liang's bracelet, it was because he said he liked her and gave it to her that she was willing to take it.

When she decided to accept it, she was already thinking of finding an opportunity to give Lu Liang a similar gift in return.

Love is a two-way journey, never a one-person monologue. Constant taking is not love at all.

Lu Liang squinted his eyes and stared at her for a long ti; those eyes were clear and bright, as if they hadn't been tainted by a speck of worldly dust.

Having experienced too many deford or interest-based relationships, Su Wanyu's excessively healthy view of relationships made him question for the first ti, can this truly exist?

Lu Liang harbored so doubt.

Whether true or false, let's just treat it as if it's real for now.

As long as he remained vigilant and refrained from jumping to conclusions, he would never be at a loss.

Lu Liang's face broke into a smile and he turned to the shop owner, "We don't want this pair after all; let's pick another one."

The shopkeeper was flabbergasted, his face displaying discontent, "Handso, are you really not going to take it? I can give you a 10% discount."

"No need."

Lu Liang was adamant, and Su Wanyu's face imdiately lit up with a smile, "I'm really sorry, boss. My apologies, let have another look."

Her joy wasn't because Lu Liang gave in, but because he was willing to stand in her shoes and consider her perspective.

She was just a recent graduate from an average family background; there was no need for glasses costing thousands, a few hundred yuan ones were sufficient.

Even though they were just a couple hundred, Su Wanyu still chose carefully, selecting a pair that were almost similar to the 3800 style.

The sa rimless square fras, just made from more common material, not like the titanium steel and nano-technology of the other pair.

Leaning on her cane, Su Wanyu placed a sample pair on her nose and wobbled her head in front of Lu Liang, "How about that? Do they look good?"

"Beautiful people look good in anything they wear."

Lu Liang praised sincerely, her attractiveness still at 9.5.

It turned out the difference between high-end glasses and cheap ones wasn't as vast as he had imagined.

It seems, the key lies in the person wearing them.

"Boss, we'll take this pair."

Su Wanyu paid for them with a delighted and content smile.
