Qin Luo froze for a second, then reacted angrily, "Are you kidding ? Do I look like I need plastic surgery?"

Jiang Zhitao nodded seriously, "Then maybe you should go get a DNA test with our parents. I'm starting to suspect you're not their biological son either."

Well, that's true. Dad was flashy in his younger years, but he couldn’t compare to my three-point charm.

Qin Luo silently agreed in his mind while outwardly retorting, "As if you weren’t there when I was born, watching everything."

Jiang Zhitao replied, "I wasn’t."

Qin Luo paused, confused. "But didn’t you say you took to the nurse for a bath after I was born?"

Jiang Zhitao shrugged, "I was lying."

"You’ve lied to for twenty years?!"

"That part just now was also a lie."

"I swear..."

Qin Luo inhaled sharply, feeling the cold air sting his teeth, as if his brain was buzzing from the absurdity. He glared at Jiang Zhitao and gritted his teeth, "If you weren’t my sister, you’d see how I’d deal with you."

Jiang Zhitao gave him a sidelong glance, "But I’m not your biological sister. So, what are you going to do?"

Qin Luo opened his mouth as if to say sothing, but in the end, he couldn’t find the words and just clicked his tongue in frustration, retreating silently to his room.

Jiang Zhitao watched his back until the door to the guest room closed, then she turned her gaze away, picked up the apple Qin Luo had taken a bite from, and bit into it herself.

Crunch—the sound echoed as she bit into the other side of the apple.

The two bite marks, sitting on the sa apple, faced each other yet never crossed paths.

...

Monday morning.

Qin Luo was out early for his morning run, wearing a fitness tracker on his wrist. Thanks to the buffs he’d acquired, he had grown accustod to and even enjoyed exercising regularly now.

His already impressive physique was becoming more defined, with faint lines beginning to form around his abs. At this pace, the dream of achieving a perfect eight-pack was not far off.

After finishing his run, Qin Luo bought two servings of savory tofu pudding, four youtiao (fried dough sticks), and two baskets of soup dumplings.

Naturally, both servings of tofu pudding were savory—a preference he and Jiang Zhitao shared.

Sweet tofu pudding, in Qin Luo’s opinion, was an abomination. It was like dipping dumplings in soy sauce, eating wasabi-flavored chips, or sweet rice dumplings—all signs of a culinary heresy.

The rivalry between the savory and sweet factions had been ongoing for years. Although no clear victor had erged yet, Qin Luo believed that the sweet side would eventually be trampled underfoot.

Savory tofu pudding was justice!

When Qin Luo returned ho and set the breakfast on the table, Jiang Zhitao was already sitting down to eat by the ti he ca out of the shower.

She glanced up at him, her eyes lingering on his upper body.

Qin Luo, still shirtless, was drying his wet hair with a towel. Strands of water dripped from his hair, sliding down his face and tracing the faint lines on his chest and abs.

Fresh out of the shower, both n and won tend to exude a certain charm.

"When did your physique get so good?" Jiang Zhitao asked.

"Stop making such a fuss. There’s a lot you don’t know about ," Qin Luo rolled his eyes. Her gaze and the fact that she had taken the initiative to ask made him feel a certain sense of pride, like a farmhand who had finally earned his keep.

Jiang Zhitao didn’t respond, simply continuing to eat her breakfast.

Qin Luo sat down across from her and quickly devoured a youtiao in two bites.

Then, with both hands, he alternated between shoving dumplings, youtiao, and tofu pudding into his mouth, thoroughly enjoying his al.

Since he started working out, his appetite had grown considerably. Three-quarters of the breakfast spread was for him, while Jiang Zhitao, who ate lightly and maintained her figure, consud very little.

Qin Luo had once imagined that after Jiang Zhitao returned to her wealthy family, she would adopt the refined eating habits of a proper lady, slowly savoring each bite, like Jia Ting, the girl who worked in the school’s infirmary.

But after sharing a few als with her, Qin Luo realized he had been mistaken.

Jiang Zhitao ate just as she had in her childhood, with a bold and carefree attitude. Left hand holding a youtiao, right hand gripping a dumpling, she alternated between bites.

With her hands full, she didn’t bother with a spoon for the tofu pudding, simply lowering her head and slurping it up.

Back when they were kids, alti often involved a fierce competition, especially when it ca to the at dishes—whoever was faster got more.

Nowadays, there was no need to compete, but they still ate with the sa unrestrained abandon.

Qin Luo glanced at Jiang Zhitao, his mind still pondering a question.

This weekend, Jiang Zhitao had stayed ho for two whole days, living like a hermit.

That was rare in Qin Luo’s eyes. Jiang Zhitao, now a famous celebrity, should have been busy with work, constantly running between events.

She wasn’t part of the "996" grind, but it was unusual for her to spend a weekend lounging at ho.

Whenever Qin Luo stayed at the apartnt, he would occasionally run into Jiang Zhitao, but she usually left early the next morning, her schedule packed.

So for her to be ho for two straight days was quite unusual.

Qin Luo wanted to ask if sothing was wrong, but he hesitated, fearing that she might respond with her usual "What’s it to you?" or "You wouldn’t understand anyway." He wasn’t particularly fond of the entertainnt industry’s inner workings, after all.

So, he decided not to ask.

Surprisingly, Jiang Zhitao spoke up after finishing her al.

"I haven’t had much going on recently, so I’ve had more free ti... I’ll probably be spending more ti at ho than before."

It was as though she was talking to herself, but also as if she was trying to convey sothing to Qin Luo.

Qin Luo gave her a curious look and hesitated, asking, "Are you telling I should stay away from ho as much as possible, or that I should co back more often?"

Jiang Zhitao replied flatly, "If you’re capable, you could live at school for the rest of your life."

So, does that an I should co ho more often?

Qin Luo wasn’t sure if he was interpreting it correctly, but a small smile crept onto his face.

After breakfast, Qin Luo cleaned up and was about to head out when he noticed that Jiang Zhitao was also getting ready to leave.

Then he heard her say sothing totally unexpected.

"Let’s go. I’ll give you a ride."

Qin Luo blinked in disbelief, "Is the sun rising in the west today?"

"Stop talking nonsense," Jiang Zhitao didn’t even look at him, grabbing her things and heading out the door.
