The two of them had been settling accounts since the day they were born and the totals were beyond reckoning.
Think of it all as... marital shared property, then.
Xu Musen shook his head with a smile and t Liu Rushuang's sly gaze, nodding in agreent, "Alright then."
Liu Rushuang was taken aback for a mont, uncertain of what Xu Musen's "alright then" implied.
Was he preparing to reconcile with Ming Yue, or was he considering playing both sides?
Liu Rushuang didn't ask, because it was Yao Mingyue's decision to make.
But this was certainly better than their previous state…
Young people's affairs are too complicated, better to see what they themselves wanted.
In the end, Liu Rushuang still couldn't help but pinch Xu Musen's nose with a bit of resentnt.
She had watched him grow up, only for soone else to snatch him away.
"Naughty boy..."
"Mom, let's take Ming Yue ho today, I'll cook sothing delicious for you."
"Would this count as bribing an investor?"
"Of course, the investor is my bread and butter."
"You little rascal, giggles..."
...
anwhile, at the Zhu Family ho.
Zhu Yulan had made a rare trip back.
And this ti, her return was devoid of the usual anxiety and discomfort, feeling that the clan mbers had suddenly beco much more courteous.
She sat alone in the dining room, quiet yet emanating a powerful presence.
Having been through various trials, she was no longer the naive and spiky little girl inexperienced in the ways of the world.
Now, she truly seed like a family heiress who could command the room.
"Here she is."
As the living room door was pushed open, the Zhu Family head, Zhu Changlin, walked in.
His gaze imdiately fell on his youngest daughter seated at the table.
This ti, Zhu Yulan took the initiative to stand up; although her expression was still indifferent, at least there was no imdiate ignition of hostility as there had been before.
This was greatly satisfying for him, a man accustod to authority and the sense of superiority it brought over many years.
"Take a seat."
He nodded and sat at the head of the table.
The servants discreetly left the room.
Zhu Yulan's older sister followed behind, glancing at her younger sister who had stood up, a flicker of relief in her eyes.
However, her relief wasn't because her sister had learned to respect her elders, but rather that she had finally grown up and knew when to bow her head on occasion, which could bring greater benefits.
This was a basic elent of a successful adult.
"Today's al is a family banquet with no outsiders, and it's been a long ti since we dined together, so let's all relax."
Zhu Changlin revealed a kind smile.
Zhu Yulan didn't say anything. As for her father, she still didn't have much affection for him; after sitting down, she silently played with the wine glass on the table.
Zhu Xianglan was holding the wine and poured them each a glass, smiling as she said, "Father had the chef specially prepare these dishes for you, your favorites from when you were a child."
Zhu Changlin didn't continue the conversation, focusing instead on his youngest daughter.
Zhu Yulan looked at the dishes on the table, the Zhu Family's cooking was, of course, faultless, and indeed, these were the dishes Zhu Yulan had loved.
But those were favorites of the past.
People change, as do their tastes.
"Uh-huh."
Zhu Yulan nodded, and for so reason, when she was with Xu Musen and their group, Zhu Yulan tended to be the more talkative one.
But as soon as she returned ho, she beca reluctant to speak.
"Having been away from ho for so long, you should have co back to visit earlier, it's always hard living away from ho."
"I'm doing quite well outside, and making my own money ans I'm not going hungry."
Zhu Yulan spoke calmly.
Seeing this, Zhu Changlin's kindly expression faltered for a mont before he continued, "Yu Lan, have you been on vacation with your friends lately?"
"Uh-huh."
Zhu Yulan nodded, while Zhu Changlin looked aningfully at his youngest daughter, serving her a piece of fish as he casually probed,
"Were you with that young man called Xu Musen?"
Zhu Yulan paused, lifting her head to et her father's gaze.
