Qin Yun looked at Pei Yan laughing, utterly puzzled, and asked, "Why are you laughing?"

"Nothing," Pei Yan replied calmly.

Then Pei Yan lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and went into the bathroom.

Seeing Pei Yan get up, although she hadn’t experienced it before, she knew that staying late at soone else’s house wasn’t good.

Once sure Pei Yan wouldn’t be out anyti soon, she hurriedly rummaged through her suitcase for today’s clothes and changed awkwardly on the bed.

When Pei Yan ca out, he saw Qin Yun was already dressed and playing with her phone. He was montarily stunned, clearly not expecting Qin Yun to be up as well.

After all, in his impression, Qin Yun was either eating or looking for food, and almost always sleeping besides that.

Qin Yun didn’t notice Pei Yan’s unusual reaction. Seeing him co out, she put away her phone and got up from the bed, "Do you still need to use it? If not, I’ll go."

"Mm." Pei Yan ca back to his senses and nodded slightly.

Then he left the room.

As Pei Yan just went out, he ran into Mrs. Pei coming up from downstairs, surprised to see him, she asked, "Up so early? It’s rare to have a day off, why not rest more?"

"Running," Pei Yan dropped these two words.

Mrs. Pei nodded without saying much, as Pei Yan had always been disciplined.

As Qin Yun brushed her teeth, thoughts drifted back to Pei Yan’s ambiguous smile earlier. She couldn’t help licking the corner of her lips, recalling how Pei Yan’s breath felt on her face—warm, ticklish, and rather soft when he kissed her?

Thinking about this made her more alert, unsure if it was due to the good morning kiss or Pei Yan’s comforting effect from last night.

Either way, Pei Yan’s comforting effect last night was indeed excellent, surpassing her usual sleep quality. She tilted her head slightly, wondering how to get this comforting figure to agree to a long-term deal?

When Qin Yun went downstairs, she passed by the large balcony and saw Mrs. Pei doing yoga, so she went over.

The morning air carried a faint scent of earth and grass, moistened by the morning dew, refreshing and invigorating.

Hearing footsteps, Mrs. Pei exhaled and turned her head, surprised to see Qin Yun. She asked, "Up so early? Did Yan’er waking up disturb you?"

Qin Yun thought of the morning happenings on the bed and shook her head, "Couldn’t sleep once I woke up, so I got up."

Truly, if soone was disturbed awake, it should have been she who woke Pei Yan, right?

She had even taken advantage of Pei Yan...

"Was it because of changing beds suddenly, didn’t rest well?" Mrs. Pei scrutinized Qin Yun’s sowhat flushed face, seeing no signs of fatigue and appearing quite refreshed, felt reassured. It seed she wasn’t too accustod to the new environnt, so she suggested, "Do you want to join ?"

Recalling the posture Mrs. Pei just did, Qin Yun, realizing her lack of flexibility, declined imdiately, "I’m not flexible, better not."

"I’m almost finished, let’s go have breakfast," Mrs. Pei said, completing her last move and standing up.

The two descended together.

Mrs. Zhang, noticing the ti, brought out the bird’s nest porridge, just in ti to see the two coming down the stairs, calling out, "Madam, Young Madam, the bird’s nest is ready."

Qin Yun glanced at the small bowl, shocked at the sight, was this small bowl all for breakfast?

Perhaps Qin Yun’s expression was too vivid, prompting Mrs. Pei to explain with a smile, "Bird’s nest is best absorbed on an empty stomach; breakfast is kept warm and will be served shortly. In our family, we seldom have breakfast together, so it’s prepared and kept warm. Just eat whenever you’re up; no particular rules."

Qin Yun nodded earnestly, as if nothing had happened, naturally sitting at the dining table, as Mrs. Zhang served breakfast.

When Pei Yan returned from his jog, Qin Yun had already finished her breakfast.

Pei Yan went upstairs, took a shower, and then returned to have his breakfast, at which point Qin Yun suddenly received a call from an unfamiliar number.

She answered and heard the other side ask, "Hello, is this Miss Qin Yun?"

"I am, what’s the matter?"

"I’m Chen from the Mystery Shadow production team, Agent Wang recomnded you to us, could you co for an audition at the Eastern Hotel the day after tomorrow afternoon?"

Qin Yun imdiately recalled the script Yang Leqi recomnded, which had this na.

She promptly agreed, "I’m free."

"Great, then please add as a friend so I can send you the script and the specific schedule," continued the other person.

After hanging up, Qin Yun indeed received a friend request notification. After accepting, the other person imdiately sent her the script.

After briefly looking over it, she noticed it was slightly more detailed compared to before.

The person also sent her the specific ti and detailed address for the audition.

Pei Yan, hearing the commotion, inquired after she finished her call, "What’s up?"

Qin Yun initially didn’t plan to ntion it, but then rembered Pei Yan was a double film emperor. With such a great resource at hand, why not take advantage? So she explained, "The other night at the cheongsam event, Leqi thought I looked great in a cheongsam, so she recomnded a script for a female third lead in a Republican-era piece. I reviewed the script and thought it was fine. Leqi then had her agent recomnd to the team. That was their call, asking to audition."

Upon hearing this, Pei Yan frowned, asking a series of questions, "What’s the script called? How’s the team? Do you know who the director is?"

"It’s called ’Mystery Shadow.’ The team is quite strong, and the director is well-known too. I checked online after finding out, and it looks promising," Qin Yun answered honestly.

Pei Yan recalled that his agent had once offered him this script, considering him for the male lead, but he declined due to scheduling conflicts, and was surprised to learn that after a month, the crew was still not fully assembled.

"I’m not professionally trained, and the director has strict standards. As the wife of a double film emperor, wouldn’t it be embarrassing if I can’t even pass the audition?" Qin Yun probed step by step.

Seeing her little sches, Pei Yan calmly gazed at her, "I’m an emperor of films, but no one said an emperor’s wife has to be an empress."

Looking at the person in front of her, exuding elegance and nobility while dining, Qin Yun felt exasperated; he clearly understood her implication!

Yet he refused to even teach her a bit!!

Despite them having experienced a ’kiss!’

If there was enough ti, she’d find soone else to teach her, but she had just two days and might not find a good teacher in ti.

And right in front of her, this person was many tis better than any teacher she could find outside.

With this realization, Qin Yun’s bright smile gained a touch of flattery as she playfully tugged at his sleeve, softly asking, "Mr. Pei, lend a hand, would you?"
