Pei Yan looked indifferent, dismissively saying, "We’ll have to go public sooner or later. By laying the groundwork now, the reaction won’t be as intense when we do."

The manager wiped away tears, "At least give us so ti to prepare."

Pei Yan propped his cheek with one hand, "Huh? Wasn’t I giving you ti to prepare ever since I ntioned getting married?"

The manager choked up, unsure whether to keep the ’tears’ flowing or not: "..."

Over by Qin Yun, she had just finished her breakfast when her phone suddenly rang.

"Hello."

The other person said, "Hello, I’m the new manager assigned to you by Emperor Pei. Do you have ti now? If it’s convenient, I can co over to sign the contract and prepare other work arrangents."

Qin Yun was montarily stunned, then directly said, "Sure, co over."

After hanging up the phone, her new manager arrived shortly at her place.

Qin Yun changed into a simple white shoulder-length dress, her long hair casually pinned up.

She opened the door and saw a short-haired woman in a neat black business suit, looking exquisite and exuding the aura of a career woman, without any hint of just having given birth.

Qin Yun politely greeted, "Hello, Sister Xu, please co in."

She nodded slightly, "Hello, I’m your new manager, Xu Jinfei."

Xu Jinfei was famously talented in the managent circle, and Pei Yan had brought her on to manage Qin Yun just after her return from maternity leave.

Initially eting Qin Yun, Xu Jinfei paused for a mont because Qin Yun was much more beautiful in person than her on-screen image, with a fresh and slightly distant air, yet providing comfort.

Her on-screen image was quite different, and at first, Xu Jinfei wasn’t thrilled to be asked by Pei Yan to take on Qin Yun, but it was hard to refuse him.

Now seeing Qin Yun without makeup, she felt she had potential, as not many in the industry could boast such an aura.

Sitting in the living room, Xu Jinfei directly placed the contract on the table, "These are the basic collaboration agreents and other contracts, you can take a look first."

Qin Yun picked it up for a skim, finding everything okay except for the dietary control and scheduled exercise requirents listed above.

She pursed her lips, "Sister Xu, as for the scheduled exercise, that’s fine, but this dietary control..."

It’s clearly unrealistic for a foodie to diet.

Xu Jinfei frowned, assessing her; she wasn’t exactly fat, "I heard you’re quite an eater during filming?"

She was familiar with the director there, and Qin Yun’s appetite had beco a buzz among them.

Xu Jinfei had seen videos of her feasting, initially thinking it was sothing her forr company had imposed to establish a persona.

Qin Yun was a bit tongue-tied, "Actually, I think it’s not that bad."

Xu Jinfei assud she was holding back, frowning as she sternly said, "Gobbling down food isn’t good for your body. Maintaining an image of ’eating without gaining weight’ isn’t necessary."

She strongly disapproved of forcing artists into pointless personas or artists indulging in such antics themselves.

She had seen too many of them, ultimately ruining their health.

Qin Yun felt Xu Jinfei was genuinely concerned for her, a vast difference from that previous Sister Li, and while she was touched, the thought of future dieting put her in a bad mood.

She earnestly replied, "Really, I just have a big appetite and never gain weight. Don’t worry, Sister Xu."

Xu Jinfei felt a bit of a headache but recalled Qin Yun’s struggling background, skimping and saving over the years, being 1:9 divided by her previous company, always in a pinch; being a big eater wasn’t rare in her case.

"In any case, you must take care of your own body. In this industry, you are the one who cherishes yourself the most."

With over a decade in the industry, Xu Jinfei had seen all kinds of intrigue.

Qin Yun nodded, "Okay."

Encountering a manager with a cold exterior but warm heart, Qin Yun beca sowhat compliant.

"If there’s no issue, just sign it."

Xu Jinfei ntioned, taking out Qin Yun’s schedule for the next week, "Since you don’t have much going on, I’ll arrange a pretty good script for you after you finish recording this variety show and start filming ’Mystery Shadow.’ Your popularity seems good at the mont, but so are the anti-fans. You used to be on a sowhat diverging path, and your image wasn’t stellar. Now, while you could take on so second or third-tier ads, I don’t want you to burn out too soon. We need a solid, step-by-step approach."

"Alright." Qin Yun nodded, signing her na in a flourish.

After chatting for a while longer, Xu Jinfei left.

Having just returned to work, she still had so matters to handle.

Feeling a bit bored, Qin Yun lay on the sofa, turned on the TV, prepared to binge-watch, smacked her lips, and was about to get so snacks when she received a text from Pei Yan.

Pei Yan: [What are you doing?]

She: [Lying down, watching TV series.]

Pei Yan: [Hungry?]

Qin Yun: [!!!]

Is Pei Yan a worm in her stomach?

Qin Yun: [Do you have sothing tasty?]

Pei Yan: [I’ll be back soon.]

She frowned, done with the interview so quickly?

But thinking of Pei Yan coming back to cook, she suddenly felt happy.

Passing by a tea shop reputed for good afternoon tea.

The assistant and manager carted a bunch of cakes and afternoon tea, panting as they loaded them into the van.

In the van, Pei Yan had just finished replying to the ssage, in a good mood.

The manager, noticing Pei Yan smiling more lately, didn’t know whether to be happy or upset inside.

Happy that Pei Yan had beco much friendlier, upset that Qin Yun ate too much!!!

Looking at the pile of food in the car, the manager couldn’t help but ask, "Does she really eat this much, and it’s okay?"

After all, she’s a female artist; body managent is crucial, right?

Pei Yan smirked, "It’s fine."

A foodie fears not the bloat, only the hunger. Though a bit costly, Pei Yan was delighted.

After replying, Qin Yun received a Weibo notification: "Emperor Pei Reveals the Type of Girls He Likes"

Frowning, Qin Yun clicked it; it was an interview video.

The reporter asked, "Mr. Pei, what kind of girls do you like? Can you tell us?"

"Simple, a good eater, and a bit cute."

"No height, figure, or appearance requirents?"

"As long as it’s her, those don’t matter."

Listening to Pei Yan’s answers, it was obvious he was talking about her. When he remarked she was cute, she didn’t feel much, but as he answered about height, figure, and looks, her initial happiness turned to disbelief.

They don’t matter?

But she had the height, the figure, and outstanding looks. How could Pei Yan dismiss them as unimportant?

Was her figure not adequate?

Isn’t it considered perfect?!

Fuming, she called out to system Little A, "Is your system not up to par? You promised a perfect figure, yet Pei Yan’s comnts don’t make you feel guilty? Coaxing to complete tasks, but the reward isn’t perfect!!"
