Yu Yu felt sothing was off about the director today—everything about him seed strange, though she couldn't quite put her finger on why.

After getting her al, she turned to see Bo Jingmo standing with Yu Li. The man was leaning down to ask the young woman where she wanted to sit. Yu Li glanced around before pointing to a less crowded area.

Bo Jingmo nodded and said sothing, but Yu Li shook her head and suddenly looked in Yu Yu's direction.

The young woman curved her eyes into a smile and waved. "Sister Yu, we found a spot—just waiting for you now."

anwhile, her esteed director rely lifted his gaze briefly before remaining silent.

Yu Yu: "..."

The strange feeling intensified.

For so inexplicable reason, she couldn't shake the impression... that the director wanted to ditch her and have lunch alone with the new intern.

Shaking off these unnecessary thoughts, Yu Yu quickly walked over.

They'd arrived quite late, so the cafeteria was nearly empty, and the food selection was pitifully sparse.

Yu Li had initially thought Yu Yu was just being modest when she said the cafeteria food wasn't great. But the mont she took her first bite, she froze, her brows furrowing almost imperceptibly.

She suddenly found herself missing Bo Jingmo's cooking.

Still, to fill her stomach, Yu Li forced down a few bites before setting down her chopsticks and taking a sip of soup.

Across from her, Bo Jingmo had also stopped eating at so point—his plate was barely touched.

For a mont, Yu Yu was the only one still diligently eating among the three of them.

Yu Yu: "..."

Being able to eat is a blessing—they just didn't understand.

Perhaps sensing the awkwardness, Yu Li picked up her chopsticks again to slowly eat alongside Yu Yu.

Bo Jingmo suddenly stood up. "I'm going to get drinks. Do you want anything?"

He'd already treated them to lunch—it wouldn't do to ask for more.

Yu Yu hastily waved her hand. "No need to trouble yourself."

Yu Li, however, replied with complete nonchalance: "I'll have oolong tea, low sugar please."

Yu Yu: "..."

How could you actually make requests?

Yu Yu shot the young woman a complicated look.

Bo Jingmo nodded in acknowledgnt and asked gently, "Anything else?"

"That's all."

Once the man left, Yu Yu swallowed her last bite, wiped her mouth with a tissue, and eyed Yu Li sideways.

"Yu Li... did you know the director before this?"

"Nope." Yu Li blinked at her. "Why?"

"..." Yu Yu recalled how Bo Jingmo had looked at Yu Li earlier and paused mid-motion.

Noticing Yu Yu's thoughtful expression, Yu Li propped her chin on her hand, eyes slightly narrowed with a faint smile playing on her lips.

"Sister Yu, are you working the night shift alone tonight?"

Yu Yu snapped out of her thoughts. "Hmm? Why?"

"Can I join you?" Yu Li blinked again. "Won't you be overwheld working alone all night? I heard from Sister Dai Liu that you've been working non-stop for a long ti."

This was the first ti anyone had volunteered for night shifts. Touched, Yu Yu was montarily stunned.

But then concern surfaced, and she sighed. "I'm really moved by your thoughtfulness, but let's wait until you're more settled before helping with night shifts. Besides, soone else will be with ."

Mainly... she hadn't forgotten the foolish things Gan Youshan had done before.

When rejected, Yu Li didn't press further, simply smiling. "Alright then. What do you usually do during night shifts?"

"Similar to your dayti tasks—checking on patients, cleaning and organizing equipnt, filling out records, and staying alert for ergencies." Yu Yu thought for a mont. "It's quieter at night, so things get done faster."

Though admittedly, it was also scarier.

Yu Li's eyes glead as she tapped the table silently.

Just then, Yu Yu's phone rang—it was Dai Liu calling.

"Sis, didn't the director say the patient on the third floor was supposed to be moved to the fourth floor today? The doctors are here now—can you co back?"

Yu Yu was startled. So soon? Wasn't this supposed to happen in the evening?

Not wanting to keep the doctors waiting, she hastily said, "I'll be right there."

After hanging up, she grabbed her tray and told Yu Li, "Wait here for the director—I need to handle sothing."

Honestly, what was taking him so long just to buy drinks?

Yu Li nodded obediently. "Okay, bye Sister Yu."

Only after Yu Yu left did Yu Li's lips slowly curve into a smile as she leaned back lazily in her chair. Then a man's voice sounded behind her.

"Yu Yu left?"

She chuckled silently before turning to answer, "Yeah, just now."

Bo Jingmo was holding a bulging bag filled with sothing.

Noticing Yu Li's gaze, he paused briefly, his expression unchanging as he set the bag and drinks on the table. His tone was neutral.

"You didn't eat much—you'll definitely get hungry this afternoon. A friend happened to give so desserts earlier. Take these back to share with your colleagues."

Yu Li glanced at the desserts, her lips quirking up though her expression turned wistful. She sighed dramatically. "Oh Director, you're too thoughtful. What a sha I'm on a diet right now—no treats for ."

Bo Jingmo stiffened. "A diet? You're not even—"

The young woman unscrewed her oolong tea and took a sip, lanting, "Gotta watch my figure. Didn't you notice I even got low-sugar tea?"

"..."

Bo Jingmo pressed his lips together, genuinely at a loss. He hadn't anticipated this.

[Bo Jingmo, you're killing . Trying to buy cakes for your girlfriend? Go ahead, now everyone's happy.]

[Oh sure, a "friend" gave them to you—who'd believe that?]

[In this scenario, only Bo Jingmo ends up heartbroken.]

[Watching Yu Li train her puppy is so satisfying—what great entertainnt.]

[Think so cakes can win our Lili over? No way~]

[Keep pretending you don't care—just wait until your wife runs off, then you'll cry.]

Fortunately, Yu Li didn't actually want to disappoint her little boyfriend.

Propping her chin up, she smiled brightly. "Director, do you know any places nearby that sell diet als? I'm thinking of having those for lunch from now on."

She pulled out her phone and scrolled through WeChat. "I added several healthy al shop owners, but they all said they don't deliver here."

"Healthy al shops?"

"Yeah, the hospital food's too greasy—not really suitable for ."

Hearing this, Bo Jingmo's expression shifted subtly, his hand twitching in his pocket.

After a silent pause, he slowly retrieved his phone.

"There is one. Add on WeChat—I'll send you the details."
