Still, she had to give her little boyfriend so face.

So, Yu Li nodded, feigning sudden understanding.

She licked her slightly dry lips, her face still looking weak, but she managed to smile brightly.

“Thank you, President. I just need a mont to rest, I’ll be fine. You should head to class.”

Bo Jingmo frowned but didn’t respond imdiately.

His gaze flicked toward the bread on the bench. The condensation on the plastic packaging showed that it had just been taken from a fridge.

His brows knitted together instinctively, and his voice carried unintended sharpness:

“Don’t eat this next ti. Eat sothing warm.”

Yu Li sighed dramatically, a teasing glint flashing through her eyes.

“Too far. I can’t walk that far, President. That’s why I bought it here.”

Bo Jingmo pressed his lips together, hesitating for a mont as he reached into his pocket for his phone—just as a shocked female voice called out from behind him.

“Brother Jingmoge?”

Yu Li stilled.

The smile in her eyes faded slightly, and she narrowed them, pressing the tip of her tongue against her upper teeth.

Tch.

Jingmo… Gege?

She lazily lifted her gaze, glancing at the man beside her with an unreadable expression.

Bo Jingmo, upon hearing the na, frowned as well.

Noticing that Yu Li was watching him with an indifferent expression, his chest tightened.

Just as he was about to say sothing, the girl who had called him had already walked up, speaking as she approached.

“I thought you had class today? Why are you standing here?”

She paused, realizing there was a girl sitting on the bench beside him.

Her gaze subtly swept over Yu Li from head to toe, carefully sizing her up.

Noticing that Yu Li’s clothes were plain and from cheap brands, Wan Wanwan instinctively relaxed—but the mont she saw Yu Li’s face, her guard shot back up.

Maintaining her sweet smile, she tilted her head slightly, the hem of her pink dress swaying as she spoke in a casual, innocent tone:

“Brother Jingmoge, who is this?”

Her overly intimate tone—if soone overheard, they’d definitely think she was his girlfriend checking up on him.

The perfu on her was from a luxury brand, not overpowering but rather delicate and pleasant.

It slled exactly like the one her forr boss used in her past life.

—A familiar office scent.

Yu Li inhaled the fragrance and felt her stomach ache even more.

She frowned and subtly shifted backward, placing a hand over her abdon and rubbing it slowly.

Bo Jingmo imdiately noticed her discomfort and lowered his gaze, his voice unconsciously softening:

“Your stomach still hurts? Do you need to go to the school clinic?”

Yu Li ignored him.

Instead, she simply turned her head and took a sip of warm water.

Wan Wanwan’s smile froze for a second before her face darkened slightly.

She had never heard Bo Jingmo speak in that tone to anyone before.

Even though his expression remained the sa, since when had he ever been so concerned about soone else?

Unwilling to give up, she pressed on.

“Gege? Is she your friend?”

Bo Jingmo frowned and glanced at her, but before he could speak, Yu Li answered first.

"No, we don’t know each other. The President just noticed I wasn’t feeling well and ca to check on ."

With that, she picked up her bread and water bottle, stood up, and glanced at Bo Jingmo with a half-hearted smile.

"Thanks for your concern, President. I’m feeling much better now, so I’ll be heading back."

Her tone was polite, almost excessively so—but it also carried an undeniable sense of distance.

A sudden, indescribable panic surged through Bo Jingmo’s chest.

His hand instinctively reached out—but just as he was about to grab her wrist, he froze.

Why?

Why was he so bothered by this?

Why did he feel the need to explain himself?

Just because of her eyes?

But ever since he t her, he hadn’t thought about that NPC even once.

In fact, his mind was completely blank—except for her.

Lost in thought for just a few seconds, he watched as Yu Li walked further and further away.

Frustration flickered through his dark eyes.

Was he frustrated with himself?

Or was it because she was walking away from him?

Especially when he recalled the cold detachnt in her gaze, an unfamiliar sense of displeasure twisted in his chest.

He hated being looked at like that.

His expression darkened, his fingers curling tightly into his palm.

He gripped so hard that he barely noticed the warm, sticky sensation of blood seeping from his fingertips.

His breathing subtly deepened, and that familiar violent urge began to creep back in.

Whenever he exited a film set, he could usually suppress these impulses for at least a few days.

But this ti, it had only been two days, and his self-control was already slipping.

His gaze turned icy cold as he glanced at Wan Wanwan beside him.

The mont their eyes t, she felt a chill run down her spine, her body instinctively stiffening.

Her voice wavered slightly, unsure, “…Brother Jingmo?”

For a split second, Wan Wanwan felt like there was a knife pressed against her throat.

Bo Jingmo remained silent.

Glancing at the cuts on his palm, he shoved his bleeding hand into his pocket without hesitation.

Then, in a calm, emotionless voice, he finally spoke.

"Wan Wanwan, I told you before. Don’t call that."

Wan Wanwan’s expression froze, her lips parting slightly.

After a mont, she swallowed hard and forced a stiff smile.

“…But Auntie said I could call you that.”

Bo Jingmo didn’t respond.

Instead, he pulled out his phone, his expression cold.

"Your family and mine seem pretty close. If the Wan family goes bankrupt, I suppose that would change, wouldn’t it?"

Wan Wanwan’s eyes widened in shock, panic flashing across her face.

She instinctively reached out to grab his wrist—but he easily dodged her touch.

Awkwardly, she let out a nervous chuckle.

“Brother Bo, I just thought… since we’ve known each other for so long, we must be close, right? Haha, okay, okay, I won’t call you that anymore. Don’t be mad.”

Bo Jingmo didn’t reply.

Instead, his attention shifted back to the direction Yu Li had left.

The frustration in his chest only grew stronger.

Even after all that, he didn’t even know her na.

The school bell rang. Without another word, he turned toward the lecture hall.

Wan Wanwan hesitated, watching him for a mont before biting her lip—then suddenly turned and hurried in the opposite direction.

“Classmate, wait!!”

Hearing the familiar voice again, Yu Li’s steps paused for a fraction of a second—but she pretended not to hear and kept walking.

“Classmate! Classmate!”

Wan Wanwan refused to give up, running forward and tapping her shoulder.

Yu Li sighed inwardly before finally turning around, her voice calm.

"Sothing wrong?"

Wan Wanwan panted, slightly out of breath, before lifting her head and gazing at Yu Li pitifully.

Biting her lip, she whispered:

“…Why didn’t you answer ?”

Yu Li’s eyes flicked toward the distance she had run.

One hundred ters…

And she’s already out of breath?

“You should work on your stamina.” Yu Li patted her shoulder, deadpan.

“Also, how was I supposed to know you were talking to ? My na isn’t ‘Classmate.’”

Wan Wanwan’s smile stiffened slightly before quickly softening again.

"Right, I haven’t introduced myself. I’m Wan Wanwan, the student council vice president. Third-year. What about you?"
