The ritual officially began.

At first, Quanran didn’t notice anything unusual, but when the Daoist placed the knife against her wrist—

Her eyes flew wide open, her body trembled nonstop, and her voice cracked with panic, “W-We’re cutting my wrist?”

Chen the Daoist tried to reassure her, “Don’t worry, not much. It’s just to lure the ghost over. Now stop talking, this is the critical mont.”

Hearing that, Quanran could only shut her mouth, her trembling eyes locked onto his movents.

Although Chen the Daoist said “not much,” he still collected nearly half a bowl of blood.

The girl in the chair had lost all color in her face;

her pale lips looked even more ghostly than an actual ghost.

Next, Chen the Daoist pulled out a talisman and began chanting under his breath.

He looked at Quanran with a complicated expression before slowly placing the talisman on her forehead.

The mont it stuck, Quanran’s body stiffened, her pupils shrank rapidly, and a few seconds later, her eyes rolled back as she completely passed out.

Her body was still, her head tilted to one side on the chair like a corpse, blood still dripping steadily from her wrist.

Seeing this, everyone else felt a chill run down their spines, frozen in place.

Especially Yun Xialan—her face was panicked, with a vague sense of dread creeping in.

She might be next.

The fog outside had long since seeped into the house. It wrapped the room in a thin, hazy veil, faint glimrs of green light flashing here and there.

A sudden, indescribable stench filled the air—rotten, fishy, nauseating—like a dead rat soaked in a sewer for weeks.

Everyone could sll it. Their expressions changed slightly, and they instinctively covered their noses.

Wei Yangbing muttered under his breath, “Where the h**l is that stink coming from…”

On the other side, Chen the Daoist wasn’t nearly as calm as he looked. Sweat poured down his forehead, and even his white beard trembled as he struggled to hold the bowl steady.

This kind of ritual was already forbidden. Doing it repeatedly had long left his body suffering serious backlash.

He swallowed the tallic taste in his throat and suddenly coughed hard. “Keh… keh keh.”

Putting down the bowl, his face turned grim as he leaned on the table, eyes scanning the room for Yu Li.

Through the blur of white fog, he finally spotted the woman—sohow now standing by the window. Her slender figure was half-hidden in the mist.

Her pale, delicate fingers casually peeled the yellow talisman from the window.

As if sensing Chen the Daoist’s gaze, the woman lazily looked his way, the yellow talisman in her hand stark and eye-catching.

Their eyes t.

She suddenly pulled off her mask and smiled, her red lips parting slightly.

When Chen the Daoist finally saw what she was mouthing, his pupils shrank in disbelief.

【Why did it suddenly get foggy? Are we really about to see a ghost?!】

【This house already looked sketchy. I bet it’s really hiding an evil spirit.】

【Are they seriously this gutsy? They know it’s dangerous and still going through with it?】

【It’s fine even if there’s danger. Yu Wenlin planned to have soone die here and then pin it on Bo Jingmo, saying online that he killed them.】

【Quanran’s so pitiful. She had no idea and just died like that.】

【When she joined Deva, she should’ve known sothing like this might happen soday.】

【Why did Yu Li tear off the talisman? If the evil spirit really cos in, everyone’s screwed.】

【If they want to fra Bo Jingmo, they need the ghost to show up. That way they can say the ghost killed soone. Removing the talisman lets the ghost in.】

The evil spirit entered. The surrounding magnetic field grew unstable. Wei Yangbing glanced at his cara—color lines flickered across the screen, and the recording grew increasingly laggy.

Worried, he turned to Yu Wenlin. “Yu-ge… this—”

But before he could finish, his eyes landed on the red-dressed woman standing behind the door near Yu Wenlin. His pupils shrank sharply, and he shouted, “There’s a ghost!!”

Yu Wenlin flinched at the outburst and turned his head instinctively. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a blur of red slipping past.

Yun Xialan’s body trembled violently. “Was… was that Quanran?”

At that mont, the Daoist suddenly spoke in a deep tone, “No. That’s the owner of this house.”

Everyone was stunned.

“O-Owner?” Yun Xialan stamred. “What do we do?”

Yu Wenlin cursed at her, “What do you an, ‘what do we do’?! Keep filming!”

Then he turned to the Daoist. “Did the ritual work?”

Chen the Daoist gripped the pouch in his hand and didn’t reply. His aged face was heavy with concern as he stared at the woman inside the room.

Suddenly, he murmured, “...One more is needed.”

Yu Wenlin frowned. “What? What do you an one more?”

Chen the Daoist took a deep breath, then suddenly shouted in frustration, “It ans one more person has to die!! One soul isn’t enough!!”

The atmosphere in the old house turned even creepier.

Everyone looked at each other. Wei Yangbing and Yun Xialan instinctively stepped back a few paces.

The cara recorded the entire scene. Wei Yangbing gripped it tightly, nerves written all over his face, pointing it at Yu Wenlin.

Yu Wenlin looked equally terrible, gritting his teeth. “Why the f**k are you adding soone at the last minute?”

“Can’t you see the situation’s changed?! You picked a damn great place!” The old Daoist’s beard practically stood on end with rage.

Yu Wenlin said nothing, but his eyes swept over Yun Xialan.

She instantly realized sothing was wrong. She was just about to activate her skill to hide when a loud crash rang out—

Followed by a muffled grunt.

Everyone looked over.

A broken wooden stool suddenly flew up by itself and slamd hard into Wei Yangbing’s back.

Caught completely off guard, his body lurched forward. The cara slipped from his hand and shattered on the ground.

The hall fell into deeper silence.

Yu Wenlin’s gaze turned ruthless as he snapped his head toward the corner where Yu Li stood.

“Yu Li, are you f**king with us?”

The woman curled her lips. “I’m not. Since there are two ghosts now, doesn’t it make sense to need two souls?”

The mont her voice dropped, the front door slamd shut with a loud bang.

Before Yu Wenlin could react, a heavy kick slamd into his stomach. “Ugh—!”

His eyes widened. Before he could process what was happening, a thick rope dropped from the ceiling beam and wrapped tightly around his neck.

“F**k—”

He cursed, eyes snapping cold. His five fingers turned into sharp blade-like claws, like a beast’s deadly talons, and slashed the rope apart.

He whipped his head toward the side door. A red-dressed, white-faced woman was peeking at them. Her faceless features gave off a chilling aura.

The mont she noticed his movent, she quickly ducked back.

“Stop right there—!!”

Yu Wenlin barked and charged out after her—only to find the doorway completely empty.

His face grew darker.

But then, Quanran’s body, which had been lying still on the ground, suddenly twitched.

Right in front of everyone’s eyes, her stiff fingers slowly lifted—

And pointed toward a corner inside the house.
