Watching Bo Jingmo and the NPC disappear around the corner, Wu Bei finally spoke in a low voice, “You noticed sothing off about Bo Jingmo too, right? That NPC is acting weird as well.”

He narrowed his eyes. “Letting Bo Jingmo go alone is just too dangerous.”

Mu Chengsi’s smile faded from her face. “What else can we do? You two want to go together instead?”

She led Yi Xian up the stairs, then turned to glance at the two of them. “Bo Jingmo is Shen Youyou’s boyfriend. Lina obviously approves of him, so he’s the best candidate. Plus, the dangerous part of the plot hasn’t started yet—Bo Jingmo won’t die. Since he’s already buying us ti, we shouldn’t waste it.”

Wu Bei understood the logic. They were still in the clue-searching phase, and the NPCs wouldn’t attack them for now.

But that woman just gave him an intensely dangerous feeling.

Suppressing the strange emotion that suddenly rose in his chest, he turned and said to Jiang Xi, “Let’s go. We need to find Shen Youyou’s room first.”

Even though that woman claid Shen Youyou didn’t live with her, it was clearly a lie. This was the most suspicious place in the entire estate.

Jiang Xi nodded and was just about to step forward when Mu Chengsi suddenly ca back down, staring at her intently.

Jiang Xi: “……”

Expressionless, she pushed her glasses up and stepped onto the stairs. “I’ll go first.”

The mansion was several stories high. It had an internal elevator, but they still chose to take the stairs. Walking all together would be a waste of ti.

So Mu Chengsi and Wu Bei eventually decided to split up, two per group, combing each floor—except they purposely avoided the floor where Yu Li was staying.

Mu Chengsi reached the top floor. It was noticeably darker here. No windows lined the corridor, and the wall lamps on both sides gave off a dim glow. All the doors were tightly shut.

She and Yi Xian stopped in front of the nearest door. She gently pressed down the handle.

With a soft click, the door opened. Inside was an ordinary, clean, and tidy guest room, nothing out of the ordinary at first glance.

The two exchanged glances, then moved on to the next door, assuming it would be laid out the sa.

But as the door creaked open and they saw the scene inside, their pupils suddenly constricted—

anwhile, downstairs.

Jiang Xi and Wu Bei had made their own discovery.

Thanks to Jiang Xi’s amazing luck, they quickly found Shen Youyou’s room.

The mont the door opened, sunlight poured in through the window and landed on the bed.

The decor was simple and girly—bookshelves filled with various reads. At the most prominent spot sat an old photo of Shen Youyou and her parents.

On the desk were handmade crafts Shen Youyou had made—little star jars, DIY journals, and even a calendar where she’d carefully circled all her friends’ birthdays. You could tell she was a gentle, thoughtful girl.

But right now, the room was empty. Shen Youyou wasn’t here.

Those NPCs had lied to them.

Shen Youyou wasn’t sick. She had disappeared.

Jiang Xi stepped quietly into the room. She looked at the photo of “herself” and Shen Youyou on the desk, eyes clouded with emotion.

Even if she wasn’t really her best friend, she could still feel the bond those two girls had.

She gently opened the desk drawer. It was filled with notebooks, but none seed useful—just class notes Shen Youyou had written.

Nothing like a diary—nothing crucial—was anywhere in sight.

Which made sense. If it was in such an obvious spot, the NPCs would’ve taken care of it already.

Her gaze fell back on the photo. She picked it up for a closer look.

Wu Bei was searching nearby. He peeked under the bed, and suddenly his eyes sharpened. He quickly called out, “Jiang Xi, co check this out.”

Hearing his voice, Jiang Xi imdiately put the photo down and walked over.

“What did you find?”

Wu Bei had dragged out a box covered in black cloth from under the bed—clearly sothing Shen Youyou had hidden.

When they opened it, it was filled with all sorts of strange little items.

Jiang Xi looked puzzled. “What… is this?”

She picked up sothing that looked like a cross. “...Exorcism?”

Then she pulled out a peach wood sword. “...Ghost warding?”

Wu Bei frowned at the odd assortnt of items in the box. “Looks like she sensed sothing wrong a long ti ago and was trying to drive it away, so she kept experinting.”

Jiang Xi set the things down and nodded. “But clearly, she didn’t succeed.”

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have disappeared.

She looked around and said grimly, “And that thing—it might be in her house. Why else hide this stuff? Even buried it in her own room, covered in black cloth.”

Scanning the room, Jiang Xi couldn’t shake the feeling that sothing about the layout was off.

Everything seed normal, yet sothing felt wrong—and she couldn’t put her finger on it.

Wu Bei was rummaging through the box. When he reached the very bottom and saw sothing, his eyes froze. Then his face lit up.

“Jiang Xi!”

Her thoughts were interrupted. She instinctively looked his way and saw that he was holding a small notebook.

“I found Shen Youyou’s diary!”

【OK, the plot officially begins.】

【Ti to start solving the mystery~ Are these players about to learn Lina’s true identity?】

【Hard to say. What if Shen Youyou didn’t write it in the diary? I an, she bought all that anti-evil stuff. Shows she was trying everything at first.】

【Vampires are hard to guess. Horror instances rarely include special ghosts like that, and players almost never guess that direction.】

【It’s fine. This is a high-level ga, mid-tier players are here—nothing to worry about.】

【Why are all the caras here though? I actually wanted to see what’s happening with the stepmom…】

【Sa! I want to see the stepmom too!】

【I just wanna know—after Bo Jingmo sent her back to her room, did he take care of her too? Why else hasn’t he co down yet?】

【If you know, you know. Even if Bo Jingmo doesn’t want to do anything, would a vampire let him go?】

【Cara crew, just move it a little, let see, just one peek!】

【Cara crew: politely refusing.】

And in a pitch-black room where no one was watching, a sudden sound echoed.

The woman was pinned against the door by the man. His hot breath imdiately pressed down, their breaths tangled together. Her shawl slid silently to the floor in the dark, forgotten.

The black silk gown outlined her graceful figure. Her waist, soft and delicate, was completely covered by the man’s palm.

Her waist-length hair cascaded like a waterfall, slipping through the man’s long fingers. The jet-black strands were like soft snakes, silently wrapping around his fingertips.

Bo Jingmo gently kissed the woman’s red eyes.

“Baby, your eyes are so beautiful.”
