Deception and Betrayal Must End in Blood and Slaying (1)

A loud and deep dragon roar resounded through the sky.

Powerful, suffocating pressure spread out without any restraint.

The human beings in the throes of battle were instantly thrown into an instinctive tremble.

They almost simultaneously stopped the action in their hands and turned their heads toward the center of the power fluctuations.

Scarlet sparks floated in the thick black ash, flickering, enveloping the silver-white scales of the dragon.

The golden-red vertical pupils burned with a never-ending fla like a rciless god looking down on the world.

Shock, fear, panic.

Dark emotions spread through the air.

The battlefield was briefly plunged into a deadly and terrifying silence like a dam that would collapse at the first touch. The mont it collapsed, it would flood and swallow all living beings.

The rcenaries clenched their weapons, knees trembling at the terrible pressure, and resisted the urge to retreat.

What was going on?

The damned black-robed man had assured them that the dragon’s human form would not awaken at their arrival!

Zhuo Fu fell to the ground.

As the closest human to the incident, he witnessed everything that had just happened.

In the lee, the rcenary’s sneak attack had caught them off guard. It was a tragic slaughter with no survivors.

However, the rcenaries did not lay a hand on the non-combative mbers.

Not with rcy but more with disdain in their hearts.

They knew the group would not survive five minutes on the battlefield without protection.

Plus, they had more important, more urgent things to do.

The sharp tip of the dagger flashed with cold light and descended ruthlessly and rcilessly.

“No—” Zhuo Fu’s eyes widened as he rushed forward.

The depths of his eyes reflected everything that was happening not far away.

The image seed like it was playing in slow motion.

The searing flas contained in the blood, the rcenaries who were burning and screaming in flas.

And…

The dragon.

A strong wave of magic power exploded just a few steps away from him and the slender young man turned into a terrifying dragon.

It was too close.

It had been too close.

So close that he could sll the scent of fire and steel on the dragon and feel the strong air currents that swirled up when the other party’s wings unfolded. ℞ÁNО𝖇Êṧ

The sound of the dragon’s roar brought up a powerful ground vibration.

Zhuo Fu stumbled to the ground, looking up with a ghastly white face, dazed and confused.

He could hear the roar in his head, the shudder as his muscles and bones clattered, but other than that…

Nothing.

He felt like he couldn’t think about anything.

It also seed like he was thinking too much and had fried the central processor in his head.

The first to react was the rcenaries.

One of the rcenaries picked up the jangling dagger from the ground, his fingers trembling with extre fear, but a crazy light burned in his iron-gray eyes.

He leaped and slashed the dagger into the dragon’s back.

The dagger sliced along the hard silver-white scales and a thin trail of blood appeared on the dragon’s body.

The dragon’s blood dripped down the gaps between the scales like a winding golden-red river.

The dragon let out a deafening roar.

Its wings ruthlessly flapped and the rcenary was imdiately flung out. His back hit the mountain wall next to Zhuo Fu and he could even hear the sound of the rcenary’s bones breaking above his head.

In the next second, the dragon looked over in that direction.

“…”

Under extre panic, the human body was unable to act.

Zhuo Fu shuddered and stared at the dragon as he saw that the red-gold vertical pupils carried inhuman ferocity and cruelty.

In the next second, it opened its mouth.

The raging flas rushed in, capable of lting the rock.

Zhuo Fu subconsciously closed his eyes, waiting for the coming death.

The scorching sll of burning fire surged in the air. He could hear the cracking sound of flesh and the rcenaries’ painful and harsh howls. The brief seconds seed to be stretched into a whole century.

Zhuo Fu felt like he might have died.

Or cycled back and forth between life and death until no residue was left.

But then he opened his eyes.

In front of his eyes was a hellish picture.

Humans turned to ashes, dust floating in the air.

Starry sparks burned in the ashes, emitting residual heat outward.

Alive?

Am I still alive?

This thought rose in Zhuo Fu’s mind but was incomprehensible.

He slowly turned his head and looked behind him.

The dics hugged each other, shivering with dripping tears and terrified to death.

But still alive.

At that mont, a deep, distant vibration sounded again from a distance.

The dragon tilted its head, a pair of gold and red pupils looking in a direction in the distance.

Zhuo Fu realized that the ground vibration he had just heard was not an illusion. The shaking from the ground beneath his feet gradually beca more intense and the sll of sulfur perating the air gradually beca vivid.

The knowledge base accumulated in most of his life automatically surfaced.

Zhuo Flo heard himself pulling a hoarse and broken voice, shouting harshly. “The volcano is going to erupt… Run for it!”

The volcano in the Luosi District was unusual.

The volcano’s depths were exceedingly deep, with hot magical cores constantly burning and surging.

Theoretically, the fluctuation of strong magic power would cause an unusual surge of magma, but the chances of it happening was extrely low.

But perhaps the dragon’s appearance caused a ripple effect – the volcano would erupt and the hot lava would engulf the entire area.
