After Switching Bodies, the Mad Overbearing CEO Takes Over the Entertainment Industry Chapter 44: Don’t Mess with Ji Tian
Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Don’t ss with Ji Tian
Bei Ning lay on the ground, vomiting out several mouthfuls of water, before she started sobbing, clearly frightened.
Ji Tian looked around and saw Gong Dongxi cursing fiercely, “Useless!”
Seeing Ji Tian’s gaze, Gong Dongxi defiantly glared back, then left with her friends without a second thought about Bei Ning’s well-being.
Bei Ning was helped to the rest room in the back. Ji Tian turned her head and saw that Qin Jiangsheng had disappeared again.
She looked down at the walnut, feeling a bit odd, thinking that perhaps the “Luck value” was starting to work, helping her avoid this incident.
“Tiantian!” Jian Chuyi hurried over. The commotion by the pool had caught her attention. Seeing Ji Tian still standing by the poolside, she nervously pulled her aside, “You dare to stand here? Bei Ning almost drowned just now. It’s too dangerous.”
...
Ji Tian wasn’t afraid because she could swim.
The hall was too noisy, so she followed Jian Chuyi to a quieter place.
Back Rest Room
Bei Ning was taken to a private room to rest. Her phone had water damage and wouldn’t turn on properly, showing a half-black screen. Gong Dongxi’s incessant calls kept coming.
With difficulty, Bei Ning pressed the answer button, and Gong Dongxi’s frustrated voice erupted, “What use are you? Such a simple task and you end up rolling into the water yourself, while Ji Tian is fine. Useless! Does your family still dream of cooperating with the Gong Family? Dream on!”
Bei Ning’s face turned pallid, “Xixi, give one more chance. I’ll make sure to embarrass Ji Tian and take revenge for you.”
“Hmph, I hope you do as you say.”
The call ended, and Bei Ning looked at her phone, fury leading her to throw it on the ground. The sensation of choking in the water was terrifying, and now she had developed a fear of water.
Bei Ning changed into dry clothes and filled a basin with water at the washstand, then washed her face and dried her hair.
Looking much more refreshed, she prepared to step outside.
No matter what, she had to satisfy Gong Dongxi.
Bei Ning gathered her spirits and twisted the doorknob.
“Click, click.”
Leaning lazily against the wall was a person holding a lighter, the fire flickering with his movents, casting his radiant face in alternating light and shadow.
Bei Ning stiffened and turned her head, relieved upon seeing who it was, but spoke in an unfriendly tone, “Qin Jiangsheng, what are you doing here in the rest room? Is this a place you can just co to whenever you want?”
Qin Jiangsheng paused with his fingertip, the fla died out, and he lifted his tea-colored eyes, gazing indifferently at Bei Ning.
That gaze made Bei Ning’s skin crawl as though targeted by a vicious wolf. If she made one move, sharp teeth would tear her apart the next mont.
Fearfully, Bei Ning took a step back, “Are you, are you not leaving yet?”
“Why did you try to harm her?” His voice was detached, devoid of any emotion.
And Bei Ning imdiately understood that he was asking about Ji Tian.
She held her head high in pride, after all, in front of Qin Jiangsheng, the illegitimate son who was disdained by everyone, her status was imasurably better than his.
“Qin Jiangsheng, can’t you have so spine of your own? You think clambering up to Ji Tian will raise your status as if the rising tide lifts all boats, right? But I’m also curious, what thod did she use to ta you, her dog?”
Bei Ning’s insults were nasty, but Qin Jiangsheng’s facial expression didn’t change at all.
She took out all the grievances she had suffered at Gong Dongxi’s hands on Qin Jiangsheng: “You ask why I hard her? Don’t you know how annoying she is, just because her family has so stinking money, acting so high and mighty in class, I’ve disliked her for a long ti already. What, are you standing up for your master now?”
The reason Bei Ning dared to say this was that she was certain everyone was in the hall at that mont, and no one would co to this remote rest room.
Qin Jiangsheng stood up straight, put the lighter in his pocket, and walked towards Bei Ning, who then fell silent with fear and backed away: “What, what do you want to do? There are caras in this hallway. If you, if you dare to touch , I’ll make you… Ah!”
Qin Jiangsheng dragged her straight into the bathroom and pressed her head into the basin. He found the sound of the bubbles that erged quite pleasant.
It wasn’t until Bei Ning’s struggles lessened that he slowly pulled her out of the water. Bei Ning’s face was full of terror, greedily breathing in the fresh air, the pain in her lungs searing from the water.
Before she could recover, the suffocation ca again.
Qin Jiangsheng was a madman, completely indifferent to whether she lived or died, letting her tread the line between life and death repeatedly.
As if tired, Qin Jiangsheng finally let go, and Bei Ning collapsed to the floor, her tears and snot mixing with the water. She curled up in fear in the corner, her voice hoarse and tearful, “I’m sorry… don’t kill , I’m sorry…”
Qin Jiangsheng squatted down in front of her. The youth was dressed cleanly, his delicate features looking beautiful and harmless. Bei Ning shivered violently, her pupils filled with fear of him.
When Qin Jiangsheng wasn’t smiling, he was very cold. When he smiled faintly, he was dazzling and intimidating.
His voice was icy cold, “I know the instigator behind this is Gong Dongxi, and I also know that the people who hit Shen Zhiyi were secretly paid by you. If this gets out and Bai Tingyu hears about it, do you think you can still stay at Imperial City Academy?”
Bei Ning’s pupils shrank violently, Qin Jiangsheng seed like a devil from hell, choking her throat, making her only want to submit and tremble in fear.
She shook her head frantically, “I’m sorry, don’t tell anyone, please. Bai Tingyu mustn’t find out about this, I can’t leave Imperial City Academy—I won’t ever speak ill of you again; I know I was wrong.”
She had a hidden fondness for Bai Tingyu.
Because Gong Dongxi was too dominating, she didn’t dare to show even the slightest sign of it; she didn’t want to leave a bad impression with Bai Tingyu.
Qin Jiangsheng stood up and walked past her, his eyes looking indifferently at her, “Don’t bother Ji Tian, otherwise, next ti it won’t just be water being poured on your face, but gasoline.”
The sound of footsteps outside grew distant.
Bei Ning, as if insane, dashed straight for the monitoring room. The outside security staff imdiately stopped her: “Young lady, the monitoring room is a restricted area, and outsiders are not allowed in.”
Bei Ning, wet from head to toe, grabbed the security uncle’s hand, her voice trembling with fear, “Soone is trying to kill , in my rest room—call the police, I want to call the police, I need the evidence to go to the police, let in!”
The security uncle was taken aback by Bei Ning’s appearance and, half believing her, went to check the surveillance footage.
Bei Ning, staring blankly at the monitor, muttered to herself, “How could this happen… why is there no sign of him, the surveillance has been edited, you’re in on this, aren’t you?”
The security uncle’s face darkened; he had no good impression of this girl spouting madness: “Which class are you from? Get your horoom teacher to take you back. How could anyone want to kill you in broad daylight? Young people sure love to fantasize.”
