Chapter 433: Chapter 433 My Sister is the Smartest in the Whole World
“How… How is this even possible?”
“How are Lu Sheng and her group living so comfortably!”
“How did they even build that house? It looks taller and more spacious than Xu Xinya’s largest tent!”
“And those five beds they’ve made, they look so much more comfortable than our sleeping bags!”
“And that stove—how on earth did they even set it up? There’s even a ventilation pipe attached to it?”
The crowd was utterly stunned.
Soone couldn’t help but exclaim, “Could it be that Lu Sheng and her group built all this on-site in just two or three hours? Isn’t that ridiculously fast?”
If they found out that this wasn’t the work of five people but sothing Lu Sheng put together by herself in only two hours, they would probably be even more shocked.
Xu Xinya was about to explode with rage.
“How could this be! How did Lu Sheng’s group get assigned so little supplies yet manage to live so lavishly?!”
Compared to them, her side didn’t seem half as comfortable. If the audience saw this, wouldn’t she lose in every way imaginable?
Xu Xinya clenched her teeth, brimming with regret.
Had she known, she wouldn’t have bothered coming here to gloat over Lu Sheng’s supposed predicant. She ca intending to show off but ended up slapped in the face.
As Xu Xinya looked around, she caught so of her own team mbers casting envious glances at Lu Sheng’s group’s house, which further infuriated her.
Noticing this, soone quickly tried to console her. “Xinya, don’t be upset. Sure, they might live better than us, but there’s no way they’re eating better than us.”
“Think about it—they barely got any supplies today, right? Just five packets of instant noodles, a few cans of at, so boxed self-heating als, a handful of protein bars, and so chocolate.”
“They probably just cooked all five packets of instant noodles at once. What do they even have left to eat? At best, their remaining food can last them a couple more als. Soon enough, they’ll be running on fus.”
“For now, they might be enjoying themselves, but when that runs out, won’t they have to crawl back and beg us for help?”
Hearing this, the others began to agree.
“So what if they’re living more comfortably? They only have so little food to sustain them. Once it’s gone, hunger will hit hard.”
“We’re better off sticking with Xu Xinya. At least we have so much food we don’t even know how to finish it all.”
The consolation seed to work. Xu Xinya bit her lip and, with a huff, turned away with a scowl. “…Let’s go!” she snapped.
anwhile, Lu Sheng had already heard the commotion not far from their house.
In fact, she could even hear clearly what they were saying but couldn’t be bothered to respond.
Inside their group, Lan Yu had just finished her bowl of noodles. She initially appeared content, but concern quickly clouded her face.
“While the instant noodles were incredibly delicious and filling, the truth is that we don’t have much food,” Lan Yu said glumly. “Cooking all five packets at once feels like such a luxury. Maybe we should eat less each al going forward, so our supplies can last longer.”
“Starting tomorrow, we should look for map fragnts and piece together the treasure map as quickly as possible. Once we find the treasure, we can finally leave.”
After hearing her out, Lu Sheng lifted her head. “Don’t worry. When it cos to food, I have a plan.”
“Shengsheng, you have another idea?” Lan Yu’s eyes widened in surprise.
Back when they didn’t even know where they’d sleep, Shengsheng had assured them she’d find a way.
And now, when food seed scarce, Shengsheng was once again claiming she had a solution?
Lan Yu was astonished, and their audience behind the screens was even more amazed.
Sure, building the house earlier was feasible—after all, they had tools like trees, an axe, plastic wrap, and wire to work with.
But food? Without any resources, could Lu Sheng literally conjure it out of thin air?
Lan Yu couldn’t resist asking, “Shengsheng, what do you plan to do?”
Lu Sheng replied, “You’ll see when we wake up tomorrow.”
Ugh, another cliffhanger!
The audience practically tore their hair out with frustration; they desperately wanted to know what Lu Sheng was planning.
At that point, nearly all the viewers had their eyes glued to Lu Sheng’s group, with their stream racking up millions of real-ti spectators.
By contrast, the group by the shore garnered little attention—even though Xu Xinya was among them.
After all, no matter how big of a 6-star celebrity you were, people tuned into survival shows to watch contestants overco adversity creatively. If you already had luxurious tents and ample supplies, there was no real hardship to witness.
By now, nightfall had settled in.
After finishing dinner, while the others cleaned up, Lu Sheng turned to You Ye. “Fifth Brother, let’s head out for a bit. I need your help.”
You Ye imdiately stood up. Once outside the house, he noticed Lu Sheng holding fishing line and a bunch of bells. “Shengsheng, what’s this for?” he asked.
“Even though Fourth Brother scouted the area and found no signs of wild animals nearby, we should still set up precautions while we sleep,” Lu Sheng explained, holding up the fishing line.
“I’ll string these bells onto the fishing line and wrap it around the trees encircling the house at a height of thirty centiters above the ground,” Lu Sheng continued. “If any animal taller than that crosses through, it’ll trigger the fishing line, causing the bells to jingle and wake us up.”
! You Ye’s eyes went wide.
At first, he thought the plastic wrap, bells, and other such items included in their supplies were utterly useless—practically rubbish provided by the show’s organizers.
Now he realized just how invaluable these items could be.
He suddenly hugged Lu Sheng, pretending to wail. “Waaah, how is my sister so smart? I’m so lucky, so blessed.”
You Ye clung to Lu Sheng, acting lodramatic, while she chuckled and tidied up his hair. anwhile, behind the screens, Shi Muchuan silently watched this scene, montarily stunned.
…That was his sister too.
Truly, an exceptional sister.
After securing the fishing line, it was finally ti to sleep. Lu Sheng looked at the group and suggested, “Fourth Brother, you all can sleep first. I’ll take the first watch.”
You Ming objected, not wanting his sister to stay up late. “The three of us guys can take shifts standing guard. You and Lan Yu should just rest.”
“It’s currently ten o’clock. Tomorrow, we’ll need to be up by seven or eight.” Lu Sheng laid out her plan. “To ensure everyone gets at least six hours of proper rest for tomorrow, how about this: Lan Yu and I will take the first watch, and then you guys handle the second half of the night.”
You Ming thought about it. Since they didn’t have phones, books, or anything to pass the ti, keeping watch was just a matter of sitting in silence—which could feel endless.
Lu Sheng’s suggestion seed reasonable: Let them sleep uninterrupted after their shift rather than waking them midway. So You Ming nodded, agreeing to her arrangent.
The three guys headed off to rest, while Lu Sheng and Lan Yu sat by the fire inside the house, keeping watch.
Before long, You Ming and the others were sound asleep, and Lan Yu started nodding off as well. Lu Sheng rose and tucked the blanket tighter around You Ming.
Fourth Brother was frail and prone to falling sick if he caught a chill.
“Shengsheng, where are you going?” Lan Yu stirred slightly, rubbing her eyes as she tried to stay awake.
“Just stepping out to use the bathroom. If you feel too sleepy, wake Fifth Brother,” Lu Sheng whispered.
“Okay.” Lan Yu nodded groggily.
Lu Sheng lifted the curtain and stepped out into the night. From the bushes outside, she retrieved sothing she’d prepared earlier in the afternoon.
