The Sun family couple waited at ho all night, but their son did not return. The next morning, Sun’s father still had to go to the company, so he took his intense expression to work, while Sun’s mother, Lin Chu, lay weakly on the bed as if she were ill, but her ears were particularly clear. She kept paying attention to the outside sounds, thinking her son might suddenly co back.

However, she also understood in her heart that since her son did not co ho last night, he must have gone to the company early today and was unlikely to return.

Having thought about all this, yet still having those impractical thoughts, Lin Chu couldn’t help but start to cry again.

anwhile, at the company, Sun’s father was not as passive as his wife. He delegated his work, then directly sent soone to find his son. His purpose was clear: to bring his son in front of him and ask what was going on.

When Sun Mingjie heard that his father was looking for him, he couldn’t help but tremble in his calves. After last night, he had actually wanted to go ho. After all, when renting a room with Ye Qian, it was already late, and they hadn’t eaten dinner. He thought about going ho directly, but watched as Ye Qian quietly smiled at him, urging him to go back. Sun Mingjie just couldn’t bring himself to leave.

After they found a place to eat, it was already midnight. Watching Ye Qian walk ho alone, Sun Mingjie suddenly didn’t want to think about anything anymore, pushing his worries aside and returning with Ye Qian to her rented place.

With a beauty in his arms all night, the feeling of losing himself lingered, not coming back to reality until the next day. It was then he started to worry, knowing it wasn’t just about the two of them, as there were many others watching.

Sure enough, upon arriving at the company, he found that his colleagues were looking at him strangely, though no one whispered anything. Then he received a ssage from above, saying his father wanted to see him.

When Sun Mingjie pushed open the door and entered the office, he saw his father lowering his head to review a docunt. As he closed the door, his father finally looked up from his papers.

"Why didn’t you co ho last night? You need to be mindful of your image and not let these matters affect you. I’ve taught you this since you were young!" Sun’s father spoke harshly from the start, even slamming the pen in his hand, "Your mom and I didn’t sleep a wink last night, waiting until daylight. Your mom is completely worn out, and you’re not a kid anymore. After going to school and graduating and now working in the company, can’t you inform us if anything happens?"

Sun Mingjie leaned against the door, not daring to take a step forward. Facing his father’s anger, Sun Mingjie bit his lip, knowing these things could no longer be hidden, nor was there any need to hide them. Since his father was already angry, he might as well co clean.

"Dad, I’m with Ye Qian now. I know you definitely won’t approve, but I want to tell you my thoughts. I won’t break up with her. No matter how much you oppose, I want to be with her."

Sun’s father looked at his son coldly, crossing his arms over his chest, his gaze icy and sharp, "Your mom and I waited for you all night, and this is what we get? Let ask you, no matter how much we oppose, you still want to be with Ye Qian? Fine. Even if it ans losing your job and being kicked out of the company, are you willing?"

Sun Mingjie was full of confusion, not understanding why his parents were so against Ye Qian. Why were people as astute as them influenced by others’ gossip? Didn’t they understand that so things can’t be judged by sight alone?

Despite thinking this way, he knew he couldn’t bla his parents, but could only try to get his father to accept Ye Qian, "Dad, whether I’m with Ye Qian or not has nothing to do with my job at the company. I can still work there while being with her. Why should being with her an getting kicked out of the company? Please don’t mix these issues together. Like you said, I’m not a child. I can judge for myself what kind of person Ye Qian is. No one knows better than . We grew up together, and after so much happened, I know you and mom have issues with her, but you need to see it carefully. So things aren’t Ye Qian’s fault. Isn’t the Liu Family at fault? Clearly, they used their family’s influence to bla Ye Qian. Otherwise, why does everyone say it’s her fault and not Liu Zhiyuan’s?"

At this point, Sun Mingjie didn’t forget to add, "You know about Liu Zhiyuan spending the night with another woman. Why does no one rember that, only rembering Ye Qian’s flaws?"

Seeing his son reason so confidently, Sun’s father was getting more and more furious, yet his expression didn’t change.

"Fine, you’re right. Perhaps the Liu Family did sothing behind the scenes. But let ask you, didn’t the company investigate these things Ye Qian did? Were they wrongful accusations too? If one person says she did wrong, could that an she’s not at fault? Then why does everyone say she’s bad? Doesn’t she have issues herself?" Sun’s father said with a serious expression, and those who knew him understood he was furious. Sun Mingjie also realized this.

Facing his father’s stern gaze, he swallowed and lifted his chin defiantly, "Dad, you should know, sotis public opinion is controlled. If soone wants to spread sothing, it’s not impossible. I only know Ye Qian is a good person because I’ve been close to her for so long, maybe since we were kids. I don’t believe she’s that kind of person; there must be sothing hidden we don’t know."

Hearing his son teach him like that, Sun’s father almost laughed out loud from anger.

This is his proud son, saying such things. At this mont, he really wished he could open up his brain and see what’s inside. The facts are right there, what’s left to argue? Why must he make up these unreasonable excuses?
