Ye Ling was slightly surprised when she heard Shen Bin’s words and looked at him.

In theory, he didn’t interact much with Sui Gang, only during work at the company. Moreover, these things are usually not noticed by people, but Shen Bin noticed, and when she voiced these thoughts, Shen Bin imdiately pointed out his observations. It was clear that he was highly perceptive.

"Why are you looking at like that? I noticed these things because I think Yang Hui is quite shrewd. Sui Gang isn’t aware of it, and if sothing really happens, it will be serious, so it’s better to remind Sui Gang first."

Ye Ling did not realize Shen Bin had such sensitivity and quick wit. It shows that sotis, he didn’t an not to tell her, nor did he fail to notice things; he simply hadn’t thought about it. Considering the past conflicts between them, a strange fire arose in Ye Ling’s heart. She glared at him hard and strode ho.

Shen Bin scratched his head, not knowing why his wife suddenly got angry with him. He chased after her in big strides and tightly grasped her hand, but she shook it off. Thick-skinned, he grabbed it again. Luckily, it was dark, and no one else was on the street. The second ti he held her hand, he didn’t let go.

"Did I say sothing wrong? Why are you upset so suddenly?" Shen Bin carefully tried to apologize.

Even though it was late at night and she could glare at him, he wouldn’t see it, so Ye Ling didn’t bother, "What could you possibly do wrong? Your mind is so sharp, you can notice what others can’t, what could you possibly do wrong."

This was obviously not a complint but a remark made out of spite.

Shen Bin thought for a mont and suddenly realized sothing, chuckling slightly, "Of course, I can notice these details. Now that I manage so many people, I have to pay attention to their matters in so way. As for things between the two of us, I’ve never really paid attention because I think we are family. We can just say things directly; there’s no need to plot or calculate anything."

"Isn’t the relationship between family mbers supposed to be easygoing like this? Wouldn’t you agree?"

Ye Ling said nothing, just scoffed, but upon reflection, she realized what he said made sense. Among loved ones, if one keeps calculating and overthinking, what’s the difference from treating them like outsiders? With this thought, her anger dissipated. But on second thought, she felt that her temper ca and went quickly, allowing him to handle her easily. Although no longer angry inside, she wouldn’t show it on her face and silently continued walking ho.

Shen Bin carefully stayed by her side, apologizing all the way until they reached the front door. Ye Ling let go of his hand, "Alright, I’m not mad at you anymore. You made your point. But don’t make a scene when we get in, or it’ll worry our parents."

"I’ll fetch you so foot wash," Shen Bin said as he finally let go of her hand, returning to his usual cold deanor.

Ye Ling smiled slightly and ignored him, heading straight into the house. Her in-laws were already asleep, as was Aunt Liu, with only the living room light left on for them. Little Fatty, the child, had been with his grandma since the month of confinent, so he didn’t need Ye Ling’s nightti care. She followed Shen Bin back to the bedroom.

Sure enough, just like he said, Shen Bin fetched so foot wash. Watching a big lug like him co in carrying a basin, Ye Ling couldn’t help but laugh.

"Fetching foot wash every night, today doesn’t count as special," Ye Ling teased him.

Inside, she felt sweetly pampered by Shen Bin’s care. After being married for so long, whenever they’re together, Shen Bin fetches foot wash for her every evening. Who would have thought the cold-faced Yan Wang could have such a tender side?

"Whatever you say, it doesn’t count. On the weekend, I’ll take you to the park," Shen Bin didn’t bother to argue.

The atmosphere between the couple finally cald down. After washing their feet, Shen Bin tended to his own hygiene, naturally getting intimate with Ye Ling that night. The next morning, Ye Ling felt sowhat tired, having gone to bed late and been fussed over by Shen Bin. She had to head to the army early and co back during the day to feed Little Fatty, keeping life busy as ever.

Only when her father returned with Aunt Liu, saying they were going back to the countryside, did Ye Ling realize a month had passed.

"Dad, you and Aunt Liu haven’t stayed long. Why not stay a few more days before going back? There’s nothing much to do at ho anyway," After arriving, her father had set up a dinner and taken Aunt Liu around the city.

"Aunt Liu and I should head back; a call from the old place said your mom’s already returned and is staying at the old house. I’ve decided, since she’s back, I won’t fight her for the house, I’ll move to town with Aunt Liu," Ye He Ping felt powerless discussing his ex-wife.

Ye Ling was also surprised, "No wonder she’s been so quiet lately, turns out she’s back in the old hotown. Since she is, you don’t have to go back, do you? You’re running a convenience store. Why not open one here in the city with Aunt Liu? That way, we can see each other often. The distance is such that I can’t keep coming back, but I always worry about you."

"We should still head back. Aunt Liu and I are used to it over there. Besides, your grandma is alone; when I’m back ho, I can visit and talk to her. It makes feel better."

Hearing this, Ye Ling felt a pang of sorrow without saying anything further.

"Your mom went back on her own, and I haven’t visited Ye Qian here. With all that’s happened, I think she wouldn’t appreciate it if I did. Have you heard anything about her recently?" After all, she was his daughter; Ye He Ping couldn’t stop caring.

"I haven’t heard anything. Likely, things are as they are. Given all that’s happened, getting along with her in-laws wouldn’t be easy. But don’t worry, dad; you know Ye Qian well enough. She’s not the type to suffer in silence," Ye Ling spoke truthfully, not just to console him.
