At Ye’s house, Bai Xue was worried about her daughter and upset with her brother, while at the Liu Family, Wu ngyi finished making dinner. Seeing her son had also returned ho, she placed the last dish on the table, wiped her hands with the apron in front of her, and then walked into the living room.

He had remained silent during the day, observing her whenever she woke up. Even during the afternoon exam, he noticed she wasn’t entirely well. After handing in her paper, she seed even more listless. At the compound, seeing Zhao Guodong and the others entering, Xiang Weilai had said he wanted to buy sothing, but instead ca back to school to check on her.
Evidently, Ye Ling was having a bad dream as she slept, her eyebrows remained furrowed. If the dormitory was empty, Xiang Weilai might have stayed a little longer, but with others around now, he had to be mindful. After casting another glance at the one on the bed, Xiang Weilai stood up, adjusted the bed curtain, and walked out briskly.
All the while, Dong Juan had been pretending to tidy up. She finally heaved a sigh of relief, sneaking a glance back to see Xiang Weilai leaving, before standing up to gaze blankly at the door, eventually collecting the washbasin and climbing up to her bunk.
When Ji Hong and the others returned, they were loud with chatter and laughter, waking Ye Ling even though she was sleeping soundly. Her imdiate sensation upon waking was hunger.
Considering she hadn’t eaten anything since lunch, it’s no wonder she felt hungry.
Ye Ling sat up, pushed aside the bed curtain. Her movent caused a mont of silence in the dorm, but normalcy quickly resud. Ye Ling had no mind for anything else and just wanted to find so food. Turning back to grab her clothes, she noticed a lunch box placed at the head of the bed. She reached out to touch it, finding it still warm. Ye Ling picked it up and opened it to find white buns and fried eggs inside, with a pair of chopsticks set beside them.
Ye Ling didn’t bother to think about who brought it, eating until she was half full. With her hunger sowhat relieved, she finally started thinking about it and looked up to ask Dong Juan on the upper bunk, "Dong Juan, who brought food?"
"I saw Xiang Weilai visiting you when I ca back from washing clothes. There was no one else, so could it be from him?" Dong Juan sat up, uncertain.
But she did notice that the mont she spoke, Ji Hong’s eyes widened in their direction.
Hearing it was Xiang Weilai, Ye Ling was montarily stunned, then simply let out an "oh," acknowledging it. She had anticipated Zhao Guodong and the others, but not Xiang Weilai, which quite surprised her.
Just as she finished the buns and fried eggs, Zhao Guodong and his group arrived. Seeing it was already dark outside, Ye Ling turned to them, "Why are you here so late?"
"We brought you so food, didn’t we?" Zhao Guodong handed over a lunch box, "My grandma specially cooked chicken porridge and boiled eggs for you. Oh, you’ve already eaten?"
