I rembered the tragedies from before, rembered my parents’ pitiful and miserable appearances. Sadness welled up, and I couldn’t stop crying. I always felt that I was the one who hard them. Having this romance-obsessed fool as their child was their biggest mistake.

When I started crying, it seed my ability to speak was impaired. Standing there holding the photo, I just cried, unable to say a complete sentence.

Since my rebirth, this was the first ti I cried so sadly in front of Henry. Through blurred tears, I saw him standing up and walking towards . After hesitating for a mont, he lifted his hand, the palm supporting my cheek, and gently wiped away my tears with his thumb.

He sighed, "Why are you crying?"

"You said you wanted a divorce, and I agreed!" I tried to hold back, choking up as I asked, "What more do you want? At worst, you’ll give less money, no need... hic... no need to go after my parents, right? After all, they’re still your in-laws now!"

"It was you who wanted the divorce." Henry corrected my wording, his voice tinged with so displeasure, "From beginning to end, I never ntioned divorce. How many tis have you brought it up?"

"I brought it up because I know you want to leave!" I looked up at him, asking, "Don’t you love Azure? Don’t you plan to give her a future? If we divorce sooner, it won’t be ugly at the end."

Henry looked down at , his eyes were very dark, with a magical power to absorb people. They were always cold when looking at others, rarely showing warmth in these eyes.

Even now, although he said he didn’t want a divorce, he never denied his feelings for Azure.

"You don’t need to say anymore, nor use these photos to threaten . I agree to leave empty-handed, anyway, my parents can support ." In Henry’s silence, I felt that tearing heartache again, I didn’t want to stay here anymore. After saying that, I ran back to my room, found my coat, and prepared to leave.

At the doorway, changing shoes, I glanced at Henry who was still standing in the living room, and said nasally, "When you give the divorce papers, give the photos too. It’ll put you at ease."

Just treat it as a transaction.

After quickly leaving Veridian Shore, I called Lane to pick up.

Half an hour later, I got in the car and went back to Maplewood Gardens.

"Madam, you’re dressed too thinly, you’ll catch a cold." Lane was very considerate today.

"It’s fine." I sniffed, the car was warm, though my hands and feet hadn’t ward up, but what’s colder was my heart.

Returning ho, I quickly took a hot bath to warm up.

Once my body ward up, I wrapped myself in a robe and checked the pile of unread ssages and missed calls on my phone.

In the four-person group, Crystal was persistently tagging : Zoe, did Henry fall for you? He just carried you away like that!

Tiana O’Connell: I also find it incredible, never seen it before.

Leah Lane sent a few jaw-dropping emoji packs.

Crystal Dawson: I broke off with Candice Jorand, damn, she knows about your relationship with Henry and still specifically invites to play, irritating or indirectly irritating you? Damn it, I almost fought with her yesterday.

Tiana O’Connell: That girl is not nice, avoid her.

Crystal Dawson: Definitely, we’re done!!

Crystal Dawson: Hey, Zoe! Where are you! Did Henry take you back?

Next were 99 gossip ssages, the three chatted until 2 a.m.

Giving a headache, Henry falling for ? I chuckled bitterly, sent a ssage to Crystal Dawson informing her about Henry getting my dad’s photos.

Then ca Joel Sutton’s ssage: Miss Hathaway, rry Christmas! Do you have ti to hang out?

Ten minutes later, Joel Sutton: Okay, you might be busy, have fun.

Further down was Ivan Underwood’s ssage: Reply when you wake up.

I didn’t want to reply, last night during the ga he seed possessed targeting , I’m very upset with him, and I started to reconsider if the upright, esteed high-ranking person I thought he was really matched my imagination?

Impossible, Ivan also has the potential to be a madman, otherwise, in the past life, how could he have clashed head-on with Henry?

Crystal Dawson probably hasn’t gotten up yet; I planned to go eat first.

Halfway through eating, Crystal Dawson called, her loud voice filled with anger, "Holy crap, Henry is too vicious! You want to divorce him and he won’t. Does he want to find an excuse before leaving? The richer you are, the more calculating you get!"

Looks like she thinks the sa as .

"Probably." I sipped the soup, my voice calm, "Crystal, accompany to City C tomorrow. I want to find Susan Adler’s husband to have a talk, or chatting with her son works too."

"Sure." Crystal Dawson agreed without a second thought.

Early the next morning, I had Lane drive to Crystal Dawson’s house, and after picking her up, together we headed to City C. Susan Adler’s husband is nad Louis Lawson, who runs a car repair shop but loves playing cards and gambling; the shop is often closed.

Sure enough, when we arrived, the repair shop was shut tight.

I looked around, chose a small supermarket across the street to enter, bought a lot of things, during checkout I asked the owner, "Boss, why is the repair shop across the street closed? My car has a minor issue I’d like checked."

"Haha, Miss, you’d better go sowhere else for repairs. Chances are, across the street won’t open until the end of the year." The owner said with a hint of mockery.

"Why? Business bad? This location is pretty good!" Crystal Dawson asked.

"The repair shop owner is a gambling addict, seems like he’s getting rich these days, spends every day at the mahjong parlor!" The owner inford us.

After getting the location of the mahjong parlor, we headed there.

Louis Lawson was indeed gambling, I was about to go in and call him out when a woman suddenly appeared not far away. Her face bore traces of being hit, eyes were blood-shot, lips were torn.

Her venomous gaze was fixed on motionlessly, like a ghost.

Crystal Dawson tugged at , "Yikes, isn’t that the witch? What’s she doing here?"

"Zoe Hathaway." Susan Adler rigidly walked up to , pulling out a strange smile, "Why are you here? Here to laugh at ?"

"What do you an?" I was completely lost.

"Stop pretending, wasn’t it you who paid off Louis Lawson’s debts to have him bring back?" Susan Adler’s eyes were filled with malice, "Do you know? I was just a bit away, just a bit away from deceiving him into divorcing , it’s all your fault, you ruined !!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Susan Adler seed to go mad and grabbed my neck. I imdiately felt suffocated.

The people at the mahjong parlor were all drawn out, including Louis Lawson.

"Lunatic, let go of her!" Crystal Dawson swung her bag at Susan Adler, trying to pry her off.

Susan Adler had already descended into madness, refusing to let go.

Until Louis Lawson rushed over and kicked her away, allowing to breathe again.
