"Miss Hathaway, I know you’re certainly not lacking, but you know the relationship between Ivan and Henry. If Ivan really gets together with you, can you imagine the pressure from public opinion?" Mrs. Underwood sighed. "Ever since you divorced Henry, I don’t know how he suddenly turned against Henry. Thinking about it now, it might be because of you."
"Auntie, Ivan and I are just friends. There’s no way anything could happen between us, please rest assured." I understood Mrs. Underwood’s feelings, so this call was to reassure her.
Mrs. Underwood chuckled, "Miss Hathaway, I’m relieved to hear you say that. I know so of what I said might sound unpleasant, but I still have to say it: if possible, please try not to et with Ivan unless it’s necessary, okay?"
She was trying to be polite, but the displeasure in her words was unmistakable.
I was silent for a while. In Mrs. Underwood’s heart, she ultimately felt that Ivan and I were not innocent and feared that things might get out of hand.
The call I made felt a bit like self-humiliation, but at least it could prevent Mrs. Underwood from putting too much pressure on Ivan.
"Okay." I agreed.
"Thank you, Miss Hathaway." Mrs. Underwood breathed a sigh of relief, thanked , and then hung up the phone without hesitation.
I was sowhat in a daze, with an indescribable feeling in my heart. I’d been dismissed, and quite thoroughly at that.
I chuckled to myself mockingly, and after a long while, I grabbed my bag and headed out, planning to drive sowhere to have a drink and unwind a bit.
During a red light pause, I made a call to Crystal Dawson, "Crystal, which bar has the most handso guys?"
The Siren on dry land was indeed different. She chuckled wickedly and told , "I don’t know, but if you’re asking about the best brand of diapers, I can tell you!"
"What use are you!" I laughed and cursed, then hung up the phone.
Three minutes later, Leah Lane’s call ca through. She was extrely excited, "Zoe, you want handso guys? Co quickly, I’m drinking with Graham and his friends. He’s got two or three very handso, single friends. Easy to hit on!"
"Really? Okay, I’ll be right there!" I replied cheerfully.
Leah and the others were at a small tavern drinking and eating. When I arrived, the group was chatting and laughing, and the atmosphere was great.
There were about seven or eight people at the table, and indeed two or three of the guys looked quite good. They were dressed in a Korean style, youthful and trendy, and seed relatively young.
Leah invited to sit down and introduced everyone. The young man sitting across from was a bar perforr with a bit of fa online, nad Troy Drake.
"Hello, sis." Troy was a handso guy with single eyelids, fresh in temperant, and when he smiled, he showed two little canine teeth.
"Hello." I ca out today with the intention of finding a guy, not only to relax myself but also to make Henry and Ivan give up.
Among the group, Troy was the youngest and had the sweetest mouth.
Leah sneakily asked , "What do you think of Troy? I heard he likes older won, but I must warn you, he has so fans online, and his girlfriend fans are quite fierce. You might get bashed."
"Just having fun, not dating seriously, what’s there to fear?" I replied.
"Wow, Zoe, are you planning to pick up Crystal’s career again?" Leah was extrely surprised.
I smiled without saying a word. The little sches in my heart weren’t sothing I could state too clearly here.
Everyone here are adults; so things don’t need to be said aloud. After eating, Leah left with Graham Garrett, while Troy took into his car.
