"Okay, my parents should be back soon." I nodded, and after a while, I went downstairs. The food was already prepared.
After dinner, I went back to my bedroom to read and pass the ti until Tiana O’Connell appeared at my bedroom door. I thought I was seeing things.
"Tiana, what are you doing here?" I asked in surprise.
"Henry Preston got hurt. Crystal Dawson called your driver to ask him to tell you. Didn’t you know?" Tiana sat down beside my bed. "She and Silas Lockwood are at the hospital. They don’t dare to tell Henry’s parents, and they can’t let the dia know either."
I was quite surprised. "Henry Preston got hurt? Is it serious?"
"It’s quite serious, which is why I ca to tell you," Tiana sighed repeatedly. "He got a head injury and needs to be hospitalized."
How strange! Henry Preston getting beaten up like that?
"It’s none of my business," I replied.
"He’s still drunk and refusing to cooperate with the doctors. Otherwise, Crystal wouldn’t have asked to find you. None of us want you to get tangled up with Henry again," Tiana said, puzzled. "Is Henry usually this immature?"
It’s not immaturity; he’s just venting his anger on himself.
At that mont, Silas called Tiana and asked her to hand the phone to .
Silas pleaded sincerely for my help, "Zoe, please co over and talk to Brother Henry for us! We really don’t know what to do with him!"
Hearing Silas’s pleading tone, I thought of how I had stood Henry up the other day...
"I’ll co over later, but Henry’s drunk. I can’t guarantee my words will have any effect." I pinched the bridge of my nose, feeling a bit worried.
"Okay, okay, we’ll talk when you get here!" Silas replied happily.
Simon Sinclair also ca today. He was having tea and chatting with my parents.
When he saw us coming down, he started to cover for us, "Uncle and Aunt, I have a friend I’ve arranged to et. We’ll have dinner together and bring Zoe back afterward."
eting him for the first ti, my parents found it difficult to refuse. "Alright, Zoe, co back early."
"Okay," I replied.
Then, I followed Tiana O’Connell and Simon out, and we headed straight to the hospital.
Henry Preston was currently lying in a private hospital room, with Silas Lockwood, Crystal Dawson, and Jason Forrest keeping watch. The sheets were stained with blood, and the room was filled with the pungent sll of alcohol and blood.
The wound was on the back of his head, and he was lying on his side. Blood had stained the pillow, turning it bright red.
"Zoe, you’re here!" Silas’s eyes lit up imdiately.
Henry seed to move a little when he heard him.
I walked straight to the bedside, examined his wound, and asked, "How old are you? Getting drunk and fighting like this, don’t you realize you’re your parents’ only son? Do you want them to lose you in their old age?"
Henry kept his eyes tightly shut, his long lashes still stained with dried blood.
He deliberately pretended not to hear and didn’t respond.
Seeing this, Silas led the others out and shut the door.
"Alright, if you don’t want to listen, there’s no point in staying here. Take care of yourself," I said, turning to leave.
Henry reached out and grabbed my wrist, his voice still a bit strained, "I’m listening."
That’s more like it. Saved so ti.
I imdiately shouted toward the door, "Crystal, call the doctor!"
Soon, dical staff ca in, took Henry away for examination, and treated and bandaged his wound. Before he was wheeled away, I intended to head ho, but Silas and Jason both blocked my way.
"Zoe, could you please stay a little longer? Just until his wound is treated and you give him a few words of advice before leaving?" Silas was truly a good brother to Henry, deserving of all the kindness Henry had shown him.
"Yes, yes! Help him out completely!" Jason nodded vigorously, both of them afraid Henry would stop cooperating again if I left.
I frowned, "Who did Henry get into this ss with?"
Jason answered, "Leonard Lane!"
After Leonard sobered up, he tried to make ands. He arranged for an opportunity and invited Henry to drink and apologize.
During the apology, another fight broke out.
"And where is Leonard now?" I asked. That old scoundrel is quite tough, daring to split Henry’s head open this ti.
Jason replied, "He’s still in the ICU."
