Henry Preston isn’t a fool; he’s supposed to be smart, so how could he repeatedly fail to see through the situation with Azure Vaughn?

In my heart, there’s only one explanation that makes sense, which is that he’s pretending not to know.

He said he needed ti to deal with Azure’s matters, yet he continues to act blindly. I’m glad I didn’t agree with him.

"I know so things, but there are others that you don’t know." Henry Preston’s face was shrouded in gloom, as if a knot he couldn’t untangle was haunting him.

"Then tell !" I suddenly raised my voice, "If you tell , wouldn’t it be possible to clear up all the misunderstandings?"

Henry Preston’s lips moved, wanting to say sothing, but in the end, he kept silent.

I gave a cold smile, "Ha, Henry Preston, is this how you said you’d handle Azure’s matters? When you first t at the town hall, she was the one who texted you first, and you never told . Nobody outside knows; are you afraid she’ll get hurt, so you took the bla for initiating contact?"

"Even if this causes to misunderstand you, thinking you’re the one who fell for her, forced her into a breakup, and loved her to the point of losing reason, you were willing," I continued, "Then why, after we divorced, did you co back to bother ? What exactly are you thinking? Are you really the Henry Preston I know?"

Sotis I even wonder, since I can reincarnate, why can’t Henry Preston be possessed by soone else?

Maybe he’s not even Henry Preston, just soone else’s soul inhabiting his body.

Henry Preston clenched his molars, and I saw his handso jaw move slightly, indicating he was in a bad mood.

I was in a bad mood too, having to eat roast lamb while watching Azure’s pretentious face!

I wiped my hands and prepared to leave, just as Azure walked over.

She glanced at Henry Preston, then at , with a look of indescribable complexity.

"Miss Hathaway, today’s matter has nothing to do with Mr. Preston; I’m the one who wanted to co." Azure thought I was blaming Henry Preston for this.

I left without saying a word, not playing along with Azure’s act.

"Azure might just be going to the restroom, maybe she’s going to find you?" Crystal Dawson asked quietly when I returned.

"I don’t know. I just left when I saw her," I replied casually.

Then Silas Lockwood ca over cautiously to apologize, "Zoe, I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have posted that on my social dia!"

I glanced at Silas and suddenly rembered what Crystal had ntioned, so I asked, "Silas, and Jason Forrest, what do you two think of Azure?"

The two exchanged glances, both not knowing how to answer.

If Silas dared to say anything wrong, today’s roast lamb would be replaced with roast Silas by Crystal.

Finally, Jason said a few words, "Just a young girl, probably blinded by love, but she’s usually quite kind-hearted, open and enthusiastic to everyone."

As soon as he finished speaking, Crystal jumped up, ready to hit Jason, but fortunately, he dodged quickly.

"Honey, honey!" Silas was startled, quickly holding Crystal, "Don’t be agitated, be careful with our baby!"

Saying this, he scolded Jason, "Damn it, what nonsense are you talking about? What if you upset my wife and child?!"

Crystal, with her slightly swollen belly, pointed angrily at Jason, "Rember, Jason, it’s the law that protects you!"

Jason used to be quite afraid of Crystal because he’d seen her wild side, and now he was indeed a bit panicked.

"Exactly, my wife has sharp eyes; Azure definitely has deep sches!" Silas had already begun speaking against his heart to calm Crystal.

By coincidence, Azure returned at that mont, and her expression was understandably unpleasant upon hearing his words.

Silas turned his head and faced Azure’s tear-filled face; he shrank his neck, hardly able to continue.

"I know I shouldn’t have co today." Azure wiped the corner of her eyes and quickly turned to leave.

Silas tried to make eye contact with Henry Preston, who returned shortly afterward.

Crystal noticed and slapped him on the head, making him shrink back imdiately.

Henry Preston didn’t ask for context; he went straight after Azure.

"Henry Preston truly loves Azure!" Leah Lane said half sarcastically, half admiringly.

"Exactly, so why continue to disturb my Zoe?" Tiana O’Connell looked quite annoyed.

"Scumbag, I spit!" Crystal cursed.

Silas couldn’t stand hearing his good brother being cursed and couldn’t help but speak up, "You guys shouldn’t say that; Brother Henry has his reasons..."

I couldn’t get a clear answer from Henry Preston, so I asked Silas, "Oh, what reasons? Why don’t you share them?"

Asked about the specifics, Silas fell silent.

Jason quickly changed the topic, "Let’s eat the lamb; it looks almost ready, slls delicious!"

Then he took a small knife, began cutting the lamb, and served each of us a portion.

This matter was closed, and no one pursued the reason behind Henry Preston’s actions anymore, so I still didn’t know.

The lamb was tasty as we chatted until midnight before heading ho.

Early on Qingming Festival, my mom woke up, and the whole family, along with my uncle, drove to the cetery.

This is City A’s only cetery, located on the outskirts. The Preston family’s grandparents were buried here too, so encountering The Preston Family was within my expectations.

The people visiting the Preston graves were several n, including Henry Preston and his father, uncle, and cousins.

My ex-mother-in-law returned every Qingming Festival to her parents’ graves.

The two elder n, who used to greet each other happily, now exchanged no words, especially my dad, who after glancing at them, led us away.

When we ran into them again after finishing visiting, Henry Preston was the first to greet my parents, "Uncle, Aunt, long ti no see."

My dad snorted coldly and ignored him; my mom awkwardly squeezed out a smile and quickly pulled into the car.

Outside the window, The Preston Family’s faces looked awkward.

"Have the nerve to greet us?" My dad muttered as he drove, "It’s a good thing I haven’t hit him yet!"

My mom replied, "Forget it; as long as Zoe and Henry Preston have nothing to do with each other in the future, it’s okay. He’s just being polite in calling us, let him be."

"Zoe, make sure you don’t soften your heart, rember!" My dad was particularly worried about this.

I dare not think about their reactions if they find out I’m pregnant; would they force to abort the child?

As long as the child exists, I can’t sever ties with Henry Preston; his blood connection to the child is unbreakable.

I replied, "I understand, Dad."

Though I said this, I was beginning to realize what the future might hold for my child and , likely facing opposition rather than welco or affection.

Though I probably won’t remarry, I hope to have a child; it’s one of my wishes.
