Of course, she didn’t an the dog wasn’t okay—it was Mu Chengzhu who wasn’t. After being reborn, she decided to stay far away from Mu Chengzhu. Naturally, she would continue to avoid him in this life too.

Not even the grass and trees in her ho should have the slightest connection to Mu Chengzhu—that would be ideal.

Yun Shifei clenched her fists. In her previous life, most of her nightmares stemd from liking Mu Chengzhu. Now, her life was already better than before. As long as she maintained this new happiness, it would be enough.

She carried her luggage back to Beijing, and after unpacking everything in her dorm, she went to find Cheng Lie.

She brought along plenty of specialties from South City, since Cheng Lie was a South City native too; he would surely miss the local delicacies.

She didn’t give Cheng Lie any prior notice—she quietly showed up at Cheng Lie’s place.

It was Saturday today, and she figured he ought to be at ho.

She rang the doorbell. After a while, the door opened, and Cheng Lie stood in front of her.

His eyes landed on her, and he smiled. "You’re here."

His expression didn’t seem particularly surprised, which made Yun Shifei curious. "Aren’t you surprised that I suddenly ca over?"

"I guessed you’d arrive early."

So that’s how it was. Cheng Lie is so clever! Yun Shifei couldn’t help but marvel.

She stepped inside the house. Even though Beijing was bitterly cold, Cheng Lie’s place was warm, with the heating on—it didn’t feel chilly at all.

At ho, Cheng Lie wore a dark gray sweater, which made him look gentler than usual.

However, Yun Shifei still felt that Cheng Lie’s choice of colors was too gloomy—gray, black, dark blue. They were all somber shades. She thought to herself, perhaps she should buy him so other kinds of clothes.

She took off her coat too. Underneath was a light pink sweater, soft and smooth.

She couldn’t help but exclaim, "Your place is so warm and comfortable!"

Knowing how much she disliked the cold, Cheng Lie replied, "Why don’t you stay here tonight?"

Yun Shifei thought for a mont and then nodded in agreent. "Alright."

The dorm currently had only her, as her roommates wouldn’t return until two days later. Since she ca back early, the dorm was lonely and even colder.

Cheng Lie hadn’t expected Yun Shifei to agree so quickly. He was a bit taken aback—she really trusted him.

After drinking the hot water Cheng Lie handed her, Yun Shifei went over to check his refrigerator. It was packed full of food, and she couldn’t help but laugh, "Do you know how to cook?"

She was surprised. Not long ago, when she opened Cheng Lie’s fridge, it had been nearly empty—nothing inside.

At most, there were so frozen convenience foods.

But now, it was full of fresh vegetables and fruits, neatly arranged—the kind of refrigerator one would expect from soone living a diligent life.

"I can cook a little," Cheng Lie said. Then he added, "Tonight, I’ll make dinner for you."

"Okay." Yun Shifei nodded.

She was curious now—just how tasty would Cheng Lie’s cooking be?

With a sense of anticipation, Yun Shifei waited as Cheng Lie prepared the dishes.

Looking at the colorful and appetizing spread of food before her, Yun Shifei found it hard to believe this was made by soone who had started learning to cook not long ago.

She picked up a piece of fish and tasted it. Cheng Lie had managed to preserve the fish’s natural freshness while eliminating any unpleasant odor. It was sweet and savory—absolutely delicious.

Yun Shifei realized she was good at making vegetarian dishes tasty, but when it ca to ats or rich dishes, she always felt sothing was missing. Cheng Lie, on the other hand, cooked at perfectly.

Better than Aunt Zhong’s cooking, even! Yun Shifei was deeply moved.

Before she knew it, she had finished an entire bowl of rice.

She even wanted a second bowl, but rembering her growing figure these days, she restrained herself from actually going to get more.

Cheng Lie, anwhile, hadn’t eaten much. Instead, he spent the whole ti watching Yun Shifei, as though gauging how she enjoyed the food.

He seed a bit nervous, worried that his cooking wouldn’t taste good.

As the saying goes, it’s hard to judge one’s own cooking. You can’t truly tell how delicious it is when you’re the one who made it—you’re too close to it. Cheng Lie had bought so cookbooks and spent his free ti studying them.

Seeing Yun Shifei eat with such satisfaction, Cheng Lie already gathered his answer.

"You should eat more," he said, persistently adding food to Yun Shifei’s bowl.

Yun Shifei had originally planned to put down her chopsticks, but glancing at the food in her bowl, she thought to herself, "I shouldn’t waste it, right? We must save food."

In the end, Yun Shifei only stopped eating after she was too full to continue. Cheng Lie finally started eating himself, taking just a few bites.

Yun Shifei felt a bit resentful. Her stomach was satisfied, but she wasn’t too happy.

"I told you—I’m trying to lose weight."

"Then exercise more," Cheng Lie suggested.

Yun Shifei’s eyes widened. "Oh right, I need to exercise properly."

She had thought about it before—running a few laps around the track when she had free ti, or buying a yoga mat to practice in her dorm.

This seed like a pretty good idea.

After dinner, Cheng Lie asked her, "How about we go for a walk outside?"

"Sure," she replied. It’d be good to walk and digest the al.

Once they stepped outside, the cold wind hit, and Yun Shifei imdiately felt her nose freeze red.

The harshness of Beijing’s winter far surpassed South City—it was at least a hundred tis worse!

Cheng Lie walked ahead, shielding her completely from the wind. Reaching out, he took Yun Shifei’s hand and said, "There’s a new departnt store that opened nearby recently. I’ll take you for a stroll."

Yun Shifei gave a soft "mm" in agreent. How could she refuse?

Shopping in a mall would certainly be warr than being out in this frigid weather.

Since the New Year had just passed, the foot traffic in the mall was much lighter. Yun Shifei admired the modernized look of the stores.

Cheng Lie led her to a won’s clothing shop, intending to buy her so clothes.

Yun Shifei instinctively tried to decline, "Cheng Lie, my dad bought plenty of winter clothes this year. I don’t really need more, do I?"

She had so many clothes, she couldn’t even wear them all!

Cheng Lie smiled. "But I want to give you a piece of clothing."

A gift from him, after all, would carry a completely different aning.

Hearing this, Yun Shifei felt he made a valid point and didn’t refuse further.

The sales assistant greeted them warmly as they entered. "Miss, are you looking to buy so clothes? You can take a look at our new collection."

She brought over the latest items and let Yun Shifei pick through them.

Faced with so many choices, Yun Shifei felt torn and turned to Cheng Lie. "Cheng Lie, can you help pick?"

"Do you like them?" Cheng Lie asked.

Yun Shifei nodded. It was because so many of the clothes caught her eye that she couldn’t decide on just one.

Ah, only now did she realize—when it cos to shopping, a girl can never have too many clothes.

What she’d said earlier? Clearly, she was setting herself up for embarrassnt.

Looking at these clothes, she wanted them all.

"Nothing stands out as a favorite?" Cheng Lie asked again.

Yun Shifei leaned closer to him and whispered softly, "They’re all so nice; I can’t pick. You decide for ."

"Then there’s no need to choose," Cheng Lie said.

No need to choose?

Yun Shifei thought about what he said and found it made sense. If she liked them all equally, it ant none stood out as her absolute favorite. It might be better to check out another store.

But then she heard Cheng Lie say, "We’ll take all of them."
