"These are beautiful!" Jessie Sterling exclaid, looking at the photos of herself and Victor Morgan. The Sereine River was right beside them, and you could even see the hazy lights of the nightscape on the bank.

Most importantly, from where they were dining, the string lights on the tour boat’s hull were visible just outside. It wasn’t pitch black, just dimly lit, which created an especially atmospheric feel.

When the lights inside the restaurant brightened later, the photos beca clearer and had more texture.

Wendy Lawson smiled the mont she heard Jessie Sterling’s words.

’Looks like I made the right call coming here,’ she thought.

"Miss Sterling, if you like them, I can send them to you now. My assistant and I took quite a few photos just now. Why don’t you see which ones you like? I’ll delete my copies after I send them," Wendy Lawson said tactfully.

Just last year, she didn’t even know Jessie Sterling’s surna. If the news of the marriage alliance between the Morgan and Sterling families hadn’t been made public, it would have been difficult for her to find out the na of the Morgan family’s current matriarch online.

Wendy Lawson’s real intention in coming over was just to make an impression on Jessie Sterling. She didn’t dare hope for anything more.

Jessie Sterling was a little surprised when she heard Wendy Lawson offer to delete the original photos after sending them, and then she smiled.

"Sure, why don’t we add each other as friends? You’re going to the show the day after tomorrow anyway, so maybe we’ll see each other there," Jessie Sterling said.

As the words registered, Wendy Lawson had to suppress the urge to scream.

She hadn’t expected Jessie Sterling to be so easygoing. After all, when the Morgan Group had dealt with that photo circulating online, their stance had been incredibly firm. Back then, she had instinctively assud that the Morgan family’s young madam, now the matriarch, wasn’t an easy person to get along with. But who knew that after just a brief chat today, a few short sentences were all it took for Wendy Lawson to completely change her impression of Jessie Sterling.

’She’s clearly such an easygoing young lady!’

"C-Can I?" Wendy Lawson stamred, her eyes lighting up as she looked at Jessie Sterling.

Jessie Sterling was amused by her reaction. "Of course! You take great pictures! I was even wondering if I could trouble you to take a photo of my husband and at the show the day after tomorrow."

’Does a lady of her status really lack photographers?’ Wendy Lawson couldn’t believe it. The excitent on her face was impossible to hide as she nodded imdiately. "Absolutely, no problem!"

By the ti Jessie Sterling and Victor Morgan had left the boat restaurant, Wendy Lawson was still sitting at her table, unable to process what had just happened.

"Joan, did you hear that?" Wendy Lawson asked, looking completely dazed.

Joan was Wendy Lawson’s assistant, but she, too, hadn’t quite snapped out of it yet.

"Huh?"

Wendy Lawson paid no mind to what Joan was saying. She continued, as if talking to herself, "Miss Sterling just complinted my photography, and she even said she was sorry for the trouble the last incident caused ..."

Wendy Lawson had never imagined Jessie Sterling would say sothing like that. She had been to a few business galas and t so of the heirs and heiresses from prominent families. Every single one of them had their nose in the air. So what if she was a top-tier influencer with millions of followers online? They wouldn’t even spare her a glance.

That was the arrogance of the upper class.

"Why would you apologize to her for that last incident?" After they disembarked from the tour boat, Victor Morgan held Jessie Sterling’s hand as they strolled along the bank of the Sereine River. "Even if an apology was needed, I was the one who handled it. It had nothing to do with you."

Jessie Sterling simply hugged Victor Morgan’s arm and said with a grin, "It doesn’t matter. You apologizing and apologizing are the sa thing, aren’t they?"

’A husband and wife are one entity. His reputation is hers; they share glory and disgrace alike.’

It was just an offhand comnt from Jessie Sterling, but Victor Morgan understood her aning almost instantly. He suddenly stopped walking.

Not knowing what had happened, Jessie Sterling stopped too and looked up at the man beside her.

Soon, Jessie Sterling felt a shadow fall over her.

The man in front of her cupped her face in his large hands, and the next second, she felt pressure on her lips.

Perhaps it was the romantic atmosphere, or perhaps Victor’s heart had been stirred by Jessie’s words. Even an "old stick-in-the-mud" like him could be overco with emotion. He couldn’t help but lower his head and give Jessie a kiss.

But as for a deep, passionate French kiss right on the street like people in France might do, that was sothing Victor Morgan just couldn’t bring himself to do.

A simple kiss like this was already enough to surprise Jessie Sterling and make her feel just a tiny bit shy.

Jessie Sterling was feeling a little shy at first, but when she looked up and t Victor Morgan’s serious face, she saw that the tips of his ears were bright red. Others might not know, but how could she not realize that this man, who looked so prim and proper as if nothing had happened, was actually shy, too?

"Pfft—" Jessie Sterling couldn’t hold it in and finally burst out laughing.

She couldn’t help it. Seeing Victor Morgan get shy... that was sothing she’d never even imagined before today, okay?

Victor Morgan had thought he could keep his composure, but unfortunately, Jessie Sterling showed him no rcy and just laughed right in front of him.

Victor Morgan was speechless.

’Can’t get mad at my wife,’ Victor Morgan thought helplessly.

"Still laughing?" Victor Morgan asked, seeing that Jessie Sterling wasn’t even trying to hide her amusent. He had tried to hold his tongue but couldn’t.

Jessie Sterling raised an eyebrow. "Who told you to act like nothing happened after stealing a kiss? You’re such a phony prude!"

President Morgan, who had just been labeled with the three words "a phony prude," was speechless.

’He’d never in his life imagined he’d have any connection to those three words!’

On the first day of Paris Fashion Week, Jessie Sterling and Victor Morgan appeared at the show venue.

Wendy Lawson had actually made so last-minute plans with a few people to attend the show this ti.

After all, when people attended fashion shows like this, it wasn’t just about watching with their eyes; more importantly, it was about coming to the venue to take pictures and so on.

But as soon as she entered the venue, she couldn’t help but start looking around for soone.

Accompanying her was an influencer from another agency nad Daisy Woods. The two of them often went to check out new stores or write promotional copy for hotels together.

Seeing Wendy Lawson looking all around, she couldn’t help but ask, "What are you looking for? The celebrities are all still on the red carpet outside."

She had also brought a cara, planning to snap a few photos when the celebrities entered.

Wendy Lawson chuckled. "Looking for the young lady."

Daisy Woods: "??? What young lady?"

"Didn’t you see my social dia post from yesterday?"

Hearing this, Daisy Woods pulled out her phone. As she looked for Wendy Lawson’s profile picture, she muttered, "I have thousands of contacts, and soone’s always posting sothing. I must have missed it when I was scrolling last night."
