The mont Xavier Warren saw the look on Victor Morgan’s face, he thought, ’This is bad.’

From the look on Victor Morgan’s face, it was obvious he was completely in the dark about his wife having run off.

For a mont, Xavier Warren didn’t know whether he should applaud Jessie Sterling or call her out for being so impulsive and reckless.

But clearly, the one facing the consequences now wasn’t Jessie Sterling—it was him, the poor sap.

Xavier Warren forced a laugh. "It’s nothing. She probably just thought it was a little boring here and went ho early."

Victor Morgan’s lips tightened, but he said nothing.

Just as Xavier Warren thought Victor Morgan was about to turn and run after her, Victor instead sat down across from him.

Xavier Warren glanced at Roman Lynch beside him, who looked just as bewildered.

"Look, Victor," Xavier Warren urged, "she’s probably feeling upset. You know how it is—she’s used to being doted on at ho. We really ssed up this ti. Why don’t you go check on her? The holidays are just around the corner, right?"

Xavier Warren urged.

Victor Morgan remained silent and didn’t get up.

Just as Xavier Warren was sighing internally, he caught a glimpse of the man across from him standing up.

"Huh?" Xavier Warren let out a questioning sound.

Victor Morgan said, "I’ll go check on her."

With that, Victor Morgan was already striding away.

Left behind, Xavier Warren and Roman Lynch exchanged a look, then both broke into laughter.

"I hope Victor can go back and make up with her this ti." Xavier Warren was genuinely praying. Otherwise, he’d feel terribly guilty.

It was as if he had deliberately plotted to break the young couple up.

Victor Morgan drove straight back to their courtyard residence.

Upon arriving, he headed straight for the Sixi Courtyard.

He ran into the housekeeper on the way, but only gave a hurried nod, not pausing for a second.

When he reached the Sixi Courtyard, Victor Morgan pushed open the gate and went inside.

The Sixi Courtyard was quite large. Victor Morgan searched every inch of both floors, not even sparing the bathrooms or the rooms in the east and west wings, but there was still no sign of Jessie Sterling.

Victor Morgan frowned. His gaze landed on the vast array of skincare products in the bathroom; none of Jessie Sterling’s things were missing.

’She probably hasn’t left for good,’ Victor thought.

Just then, the housekeeper he had hurried past earlier ca to find him.

"Sir, will you be having dinner at ho tonight?" the housekeeper asked.

It was just past lunchti, so the housekeeper was a bit confused as to why the young master and mistress had returned separately.

"Where is she?" Victor asked.

The housekeeper paused. "You an the mistress?"

"Yes."

"The mistress left," the housekeeper said, looking at Victor Morgan in utter confusion, unsure of what was happening.

"Left?" Victor repeated.

The housekeeper nodded. "The mistress ca back this morning, grabbed a few things, and left again. I assud she was with you, so I didn’t ask any questions."

"What did she take with her?" Victor asked.

"The mistress ca back, just switched to a tote bag, I think? And she set down her luggage."

As if suddenly rembering sothing, Victor Morgan spun around and strode back into the Sixi Courtyard.

"Sir, are you still having dinner at ho tonight?" the housekeeper couldn’t help but ask again.

"No."

Victor Morgan walked over to the bed and pulled open the drawer of the nightstand.

Sure enough, the docunt folder inside was gone.

It contained all of Jessie Sterling’s identification docunts. She liked to keep them in a clear folder. Victor rembered her ntioning it when they went for their wedding photoshoot.

Ignoring the flicker of panic in his heart, he pulled out his phone and called Jessie Sterling.

There were many flights from Aethelburg to Southaven. Jessie Sterling and Lynn Jennings bought tickets for the earliest one, and by noon, they were already soaring high in the sky.

Naturally, Jessie Sterling didn’t get Victor Morgan’s call.

An hour had passed by the ti she saw the missed call on her phone.

Connecting from Southaven to Finland was too much of a hassle, so after landing, Jessie Sterling and Lynn Jennings headed back to the old family manor.

Today was January third, the last day of the New Year’s holiday.

Everyone in the Sterling family was ho.

Before returning, Jessie Sterling had already spoken with her father, Director Sterling, about using the private jet. His staff was handling the arrangents.

When Jessie Sterling and Lynn Jennings arrived, Mrs. Sterling glanced behind them.

"Why is it just you and Lynn?" Mrs. Sterling asked, surprised. "Where’s Victor?"

When Jessie Sterling had called, she’d only said she wanted to use the private jet to fly to Finland for a vacation, not who she was going with. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling had just assud she would be with Victor Morgan; they never expected she’d co back without him.

"Him? He’s at work, of course!" Jessie Sterling answered as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Mrs. Sterling: "???"

Quincy Sterling, who was making a rare appearance in the living room to watch a dating show with her mother, heard this and let out a "Whoa." "Jessie Sterling, you ditched your husband to go on vacation by yourself? Does your conscience not bother you at all?"

Jessie Sterling walked over and squished her sister’s face. "Quincy, are you just jealous that I get to go have fun?!"

Her face thoroughly squished, Quincy shrieked in protest and soon started playfully wrestling with Jessie.

Mrs. Sterling: "..."

Mr. Sterling: "..."

"Is Lynn going too?" Mrs. Sterling asked. If Victor wasn’t going and Lynn wasn’t either, she’d be a little worried.

Lynn Jennings nodded. "Yes, I’m going with Jessie."

"Oh, good, that’s good." Mrs. Sterling couldn’t be bothered to watch her two daughters on the sofa any longer. "Honestly, Jessie. She’s a married woman, and with the holidays coming up, she’s still so flighty. All she thinks about is having fun."

As she spoke, Mrs. Sterling stood up and brought over a pot of beautifully blooming moth orchids from a nearby table. "Here, Lynn, take this with you when you head ho. It’s festive to have in the house for the New Year."

During the Spring Festival, many households in Southaven would buy moth orchids. The Sterling family had their own gardener who specialized in cultivating flowers, so every year Mrs. Sterling would give away quite a few.

Lynn Jennings accepted with a smile.

After packing her bags, Jessie Sterling went with Lynn Jennings back to Lynn’s apartnt before heading to the airport to leave Southaven.

Victor Morgan landed in Southaven just before evening.

He ca straight from Aethelburg and headed directly for the Sterling manor.

It was just around dinnerti.

When the housekeeper opened the door and saw the man standing outside, she exclaid, "Mr. Morgan?"

"Where’s Jessie?" Victor asked.

The housekeeper, who had been arranging flowers in the living room, was surprised by Victor Morgan’s sudden appearance, but she still answered, "The young miss has already left."
