Fu Bing first asked Xiaoi to return to her room. After confirming the captain’s room number, she went to find him.
The door was ajar, but she still knocked.
"Co in!"
Fu Bing walked in.
The curtains in the room were not drawn, so the only illumination ca from the faint light seeping through the gaps where they weren’t pulled tight.
The man sitting with his back to her hastily put on his outer robe.
"Sorry for disturbing you. I just did sothing and need to let you know imdiately."
"What happened?" Qin Jinhai asked, imdiately concerned.
"When I was going upstairs, I ran into Hu Yao and his companion in the elevator, and I attacked his companion."
Laughter flickered in Qin Jinhai’s eyes. "Did you succeed?"
"Yes, I disabled his companion’s hand."
"Why did you do that?"
"I wanted to see if he had any special dication."
Ning Wan’s leg had no external injuries. Despite being disabled for many years, there was no muscle atrophy. Beyond proper care, there must have been a cause related to the original injury. When she was injured, she must have co into contact with so drug she shouldn’t have.
"Apart from drawing Hu Yao’s attention to you, this act brings no other benefits. Elder Jiang must have told you about Hu Yao’s actions. You were already a thorn in his side in this competition, and now his focus will only tighten on you. Do you want him to take you out before you even enter the contest?"
Fu Bing had assud he was a man of few words, but she now realized he actually spoke quite a lot when it ca to serious matters. His voice was clear and lodious, not at all like a grown man’s. It’s as if his voice was artificially frozen in his youth, she thought.
Fu Bing explained, "I’m aware of Hu Yao’s actions over these years. If I’m his target, he’d prefer to deal with during the match. Captain, you should know that his real target this ti is you."
Hu Yao had only ever been defeated by the Captain. He surely wanted to personally redeem that humiliation. This was Hu Yao’s last chance. If Hu Yao couldn’t defeat the Captain this ti, Country A would no longer provide him with substantial research funding for his various studies.
"You want to divert firepower to help ?"
"I think Elder Jiang insists on joining the team partly for that reason." Fu Bing wasn’t resentful at all. Elder Jiang had accepted her into the team for the Captain’s sake. She was using this competition to establish her persona as a doctor. Both parties were benefiting from each other.
"Elder Jiang highly values talent. He regrets Ning Wan’s situation and hopes that you can break records for yourself and for Ning Wan here."
"Can you tell how Aunt Ning got injured back then?"
"She suddenly fainted during the individual semi-finals and was disabled when she woke up."
"And it couldn’t be cured even after ten years?"
Qin Jinhai nodded.
Fu Bing pursed her lips tightly. Then, she suddenly looked up, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at the man in the fox-shaped mask. "Will there be major dia involvent in the competition?"
"You want to turn the competition into a public frenzy?" Qin Jinhai almost instantly grasped her thoughts as she spoke.
"If it doesn’t affect the strategic outco, I’d like to participate in the sa match where Aunt Ning fell. I want Aunt Ning to see from sowhere else that I’m in the position she once held, to show her that her dical skills were correct. It was rely the despicable actions of a villain that brought her down."
Fu Bing paused for a mont, then continued, "Isn’t our endeavor as doctors striving in this field more valuable than any other dical publicity? Let ordinary people understand and watch this competition. I am the opportunity you need to bring this competition to the masses."
Qin Jinhai raised his hand, wanting to caress her vibrant, expressive face. He barely lifted it an inch before he restrained himself and let it drop.
"There indeed is an intent to broadcast the entire competition live, but not everyone has firmly decided yet." Qin Jinhai’s eyes were gentle as he looked at her. "A significant concern holding us back is that the competition might impact your image and comrcial value. For us, it’s all gains and no losses, but you will beco the target of everyone’s criticism."
"No pain, no gain. Aunt Ning is very important to . If she could see with her own eyes her disciple defeat Hu Yao, I think it would resolve many of her inner conflicts."
In this world, there are no foolproof plans, nor are there ventures that only yield rewards without any risk.
Suddenly, the room fell into silence.
Qin Jinhai struggled with the urge to pull her into his arms.
Without receiving a reply, Fu Bing looked up at him again.
Qin Jinhai had already withdrawn his intense gaze. "I will communicate with the organizers."
"Okay."
Fu Bing returned to her room for a brief rest before going to the venue with the other teammates.
She had never heard of this competition before. Only upon arriving at the site did she discover that the venue, capable of accommodating 30,000 people, was packed to capacity. Judging by their ages and attire, they appeared to be practitioners and students from various related fields around the world.
At the center was an elliptical open space, behind which were several huge screens. The staff were still adjusting the final cara positions, and the screens displayed test images.
Xiaoi and Mu He, having changed into the China Team’s support staff uniforms, followed Fu Bing closely.
Suddenly, Fu Bing’s face appeared on a massive screen, and the cara continued to follow her until she was seated.
Initially, the audience didn’t react. Then, a burst of cheers erupted.
Sister Bing is actually participating in the dical skills competition?!
This joy gradually turned into questioning. Why is only Sister Bing’s cara shot being shown?
Fu Bing naturally also noticed the anomaly on the large screen. She did not show any signs of impatience.
I know soone is targeting , she thought. As she walked with her teammates, the cara focused only on her from start to finish. Aren’t they just trying to stir up hatred against ?
Xiaoi whispered, "Who is targeting Sister Bing?"
Mu He shook his head. Miss Fu had too many opponents. She had affected the interests of too many people, and it wasn’t easy to sort through them all.
「At nine-thirty.」
The teams from various countries made their entrance, stirring the crowd into a frenzy. The loudest cheers erupted when the China Team captain entered, with fans from both his own country and other countries screaming. The roar of the crowd was so loud it threatened to lift the roof off the venue.
This was a living legend in China’s dical field! He beca a legend at only 17 years old! Can you imagine how incredible that is? Ten years had passed, and he was only 27. The entire world was watching to see what he had beco! The most astonishing part was that no one had ever seen his face, yet everyone unanimously agreed he must be exceptionally handso! Otherwise, it wouldn’t do justice to his legendary life!
Qin Jinhai took his seat. Directly opposite him was Hu Yao.
Hu Yao’s gaze was ominously fixated on that fox-shaped mask. Ten years ago, Qin Jinhai had been a cunning and eloquent young man, like a fox. Ten years later, he had only beco more unfathomable. Over these ten years, that fox-shaped mask had beco Hu Yao’s nightmare. China was his lifelong nightmare. Yet, this detestable country always managed to produce such astonishingly brilliant individuals!
Hu Yao shifted his gaze to Fu Bing’s face. Sensing his stare, Fu Bing suddenly smiled at him. The smile, however, did not reach her eyes; it was cold and mocking.
Hu Yao clenched his fist. I’ll crush them like ants!
