He Luo’s face turned ashen.
He had forgotten the dirty tricks of the wealthy.

Fear filled He Luo’s eyes.

Lei Xue called the other colleagues in, starting a new round of interrogation.
Lian Yingting sat in the director’s office, watching the progress of the interrogation.
The more he listened, the more his scalp tingled.
Seeing him like this, the director said sympathetically, "You should go back first. We’ll let you know once we find anything."
Lian Yingting shook his head, "I need to hear it all."
The director had no choice but to continue listening with him.
It was a cold early spring, yet Lian Yingting was sweating profusely.
He didn’t know how he had gotten out of there.
When he reached his car, he saw a familiar figure.
Han Hu opened her arms towards him.
Lian Yingting walked over and gently embraced her.
All the fear of the morning found an outlet in that mont.
Han Hu gently patted his back, "Don’t worry, I’ll go with you to find him."
"How did you use to get through this?" Lian Yingting asked in return.
Han Hu’s lips curved into a slight smile, but she said nothing.
Li Rui and Li Shen watched from a distance as Lian Yingting embraced an unfamiliar woman on the street.
Li Rui frowned, "Sis, are you being cheated on?"
Li Shen looked at Lian Yingting’s face and after a long pause, said, "Don’t let your brother-in-law see your car."
Li Rui pouted, "You’re being a coward."
"Before we know anything for sure, it’s best not to guess wildly. It only hurts everyone involved," Li Shen said stiffly.
She didn’t believe that Lian Yingting would deceive her. If Lian Yingting had found soone he liked, he would have told her first. That was one of their original agreents.
Li Rui rged the car into traffic.
Li Shen sat in the passenger seat, trying to recall any hint Lian Yingting might have dropped about another woman.
Suddenly, her eyes brightened.
"Your brother-in-law did ntion sothing when Yingya first ca ho. He wanted to et a girl, said he wanted my parents-in-law to consider her as an adopted daughter, and told not to overthink it."
Li Rui almost couldn’t continue driving.
He pulled over to the side of the road.
"So blatant? Why didn’t you tell us before? We would have gone and demanded justice for you!"
Li Shen playfully tapped his head. "No wonder you’re single; you don’t use your brain at all. We only saw one brief mont. I’ll ask him in detail when he gets back. Besides, I took a picture of the girl’s face. We can just look her up to see what her situation is with your brother-in-law. It will be easy to confirm if he lied and to understand their real relationship more clearly."
Li Rui realized he had overreacted.
"Sis, you make look so silly."
"Oh, so you think you’re clever?" Li Shen glanced at him. "Let’s go ho first. I’ll wait for him there. If there’s an issue, I’ll face it with him, rather than him having to rely on another woman’s shoulder for support."
Li Rui deeply admired his sister.
She had always outshone him during their school days.
Other top students focused solely on their studies and had no interest in mundane things like romance.

Lian Yingting did not speak again.

"We’ve only traced it to Su Kexin. We can’t find the person above her yet."
"Su Kexin? What does she have to do with the Qin Family?"
He knew Su Kexin had been driven out of the Su Family by Han Liying. Having been adopted by the Su Family for so many years, could she really just turn around and join the Qin Family?
Han Hu said, "You saw the person in the interrogation room. He couldn’t possibly be one of the Qin Family’s n in black. It must be soone else impersonating them to muddy the waters."
Lian Yingting did not speak again.
He was very agitated now. Speaking any more would only shatter what little reason he had left.
Lian Yingting stood in the center of the dilapidated house.

He trembled as he turned, taking Han Hu with him as they left.
Han Hu’s vision was already blurred with tears.
The return drive was very slow.
Lian Yingting received a call from Lei Xue, who reported that Hen Luo had confessed everything.
All four individuals had been arrested.
Yet Lian Yingting felt no joy.
Before getting out of the car, he looked at Han Hu.
"Tell Wu Shi to na his price. I want Su Kexin."
"I’ll talk to him."
Lian Yingting got out of the car without looking back.
Li Shen had already prepared the bathwater.
She held Lian Yingting’s cold hand, asking nothing.
"Go take a bath first. Dinner will be ready in a mont."
"Once everything is dealt with, I’ll explain everything properly. Now is not the ti—please trust ."
A sweet smile lit up Li Shen’s face. "I trust you. Go take your bath."
He was never short of a stream of admirers. He always handled them well, never giving her any reason to doubt his decisions or choices. His attitude was always resolute. What did she have to worry about?
After his bath, Lian Yingting had barely eaten a few bites when he was called away by a phone call.
Su Zhen coldly watched Su Kexin, who knelt on the ground.
Su Kexin was trembling all over.
"This was my first mission. I lack experience. Please, save ."
She couldn’t have imagined that all the impersonators of the n in black had been caught.
"Give you another chance? What could you possibly do with another chance? You were in the Su Family for so many years, moving freely in and out of Su Jiang’s study. What valuable clues did you ever get?" Su Zhen said scornfully.
Su Kexin’s head hung so low it almost touched the floor.
